"A toast to our newest member of the family" god raised his golden chalice. The rest of us raised our glasses in response.

"Cheers!"

We all sat around the table eating a literal feast of the gods! No wonder my fiancée refuses a perfectly good deer carcass. Living with this kind of food must have left him with a refined taste!

"You look tired Al" Lucifer poked my cheek "was fighting for my love that exhausting?" He fluttered his eyelashes.

"Very much so" I sighed "I'm starting to wonder if you're worth the trouble"

"Hey!" He grabbed me by my deer ears "apologise right now!"

"Get your hands on me half pint!"

"Make me deer boy!"

Our fight was cut off by laughter coming from the other family members.

"Wow you two really remind me of me and Michael before we started dating" Lilith chuckled "he was such a stick in the mud and I was a free spirit"

"I discovered after a while that she was very much worth the trouble" Michael kissed her hand.

"Me and Raphael had some trouble at first too" eve said thoughtfully "He was always so wrapped up in his work though I was eventually able to get his attention" she leaned against him, causing him to crack a smile.

"Me and azreal never had any problems" Adam boasted.

"That's because you two are chaotic beings that attract each other like magnets" Raphael rolled his eyes "if you two ever did have children they'd probably bring about the end of the world!"

"Hey!" The boys said in unison.

"Though I would love some grandchildren so you two get it on anytime you want" god said brightly.

"Dad!" Azreal's face turned red.

The others burst out laughing at their brother's embarrassment while Adam sat there looking confused.

"Anyway it seems we'll have to add kidnapping into our meet cue stories" Charlie said teasingly.

"Consensual kidnapping" Lucifer pointed out.

"Shut up" I groaned.

they burst into a chorus of laughter again. I found myself laughing alongside them. Maybe this family of his aren't so bad
