Chapter Seven
Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, months turned into years, living in town felt natural after so long of adjusting, I had never given up any of my forms not even Nightmarione just incase something bad happened. It felt like yesterday I was fighting Nightmare and today I'm a new person, Springtrap had grown to be over protective whenever the other boys were around but I hardly noticed for my lack of care. Everyone was getting along great, everything seemed happy a cheerful until I went to bed and woke up every morning a crying mess after Nightmare had triggered those old memories of pain and torture. With a sigh I got out of bed to get changed, using some of my power I created a soft white flame that lit the room softly as to not wake a rather tired Springtrap. I smiled seeing how peaceful he was before I headed into the bathroom to get changed, I made sure to avoid the mirror since I didn't feel like another heart attack as people called it. Something about me felt off, I was different yet I looked the same. Over the time we have been here I have had to put a few unfortunate souls out of commission due to aggressive behaviour towards me and those I cared about, I didn't like to kill but if it kept everyone safe I would do it should it resort to such acts. With a sigh I examined a long scar that ran down my body, it pained me to look at it but for some reason it wouldn't heal. Growling softly I pushed my shirt back down and sighed, something was changing about me and I couldn't figure out what. Ashton had been a massive help with coping with our new forms which we were all thankful for, Springtrap had begun to keep to himself more often unless I asked him about it which he would shrug it off as simply caught in his thoughts. After getting changed I headed for the bedroom door only to notice Springtrap wasn't in the bed anymore, looking around I heard a soft chuckle before I was lifted off the ground and pulled into a tight hug.
"Stop getting up so early Mari, you make too much noise," he grumbled sleepily, I giggled softly as I kissed his cheek.
"I like to watch the sun rise, plus you look so peaceful when you sleep," I teased, with an evil smirk he threw us both onto the bed where he had me pinned. I felt my face begin to burn as me cheeks went red, he noticed this and quickly stood up rubbing the back of his neck.
"Heh sorry," he chuckled nervously, I sat up to look at him before looking down at my lap.
"It's fine, you got carried away it happens, let's just not go that far yet," I chuckled sheepishly, in the time I had been in my human form I had learnt all too well on how human children were created and it always made my face burn because my mind would always drift to Springtrap. We soon made our way downstairs where we began to make breakfast for the others, by the time we were done I chuckled when I heard tired yawns and comments on the smell of food made their way downstairs to us. Springtrap had moved off towards the table as I put food on individual plates as I didn't trust anyone not to hog it, after setting out all the plates everyone dug into their food and I watched them but refused to eat food myself. A burning sensation had built up in my chest and I slowly made my way back up to my room to see if something was wrong, upon making it into the bathroom just off my room I pulled my shirt down slightly to see a certain spot on my chest had grown a soft red glow. I pressed a hand to it but quickly pulled it back as pain spread through the glowing spot the moment my hand touched it, hissing in pain I took a deep breath as a knock on the door shook me from my thoughts.
"You alright in there Mari? You left before anyone could ask you what was wrong," Came the concerned voice of Springtrap, collecting my thoughts I opened the door and allowed him in.
"Springtrap you have to keep this a secret...." I began but he raised a hand and I stopped, his face was twisted with concern and confusion.
"Keep what a secret?" He pressed, I gave a sigh as I took a step back and showed him the glowing spot on my chest. This had him mesmerised as he moved closer to touch it, I prepared for pain but instead the burning sensation eased slightly.
"What is it?" He muttered as he lifted his gaze to my own, I could see almost no emotion in his gaze as his eyes glowed a soft purple.
"I-I don't know.... my chest just began burning and when I looked it began to glow and that's all I know," I explained as his gaze returned to the spot, after a few moments of silence he stood back to his proper height and I let my shirt cover the spot again.
"If it starts burning again let me know, something isn't right for your soul to emit a strange glow like that," Springtrap mumbled as he turned and left, I stood there for a few moments trying to figure out what to tell the others. Once we arrived in the main room we were met with confused and concerned faces, I took a deep breath and stopped myself from speaking the moment I noticed a soft purple flash in Springtrap's gaze.
"What happened? You both left so suddenly it's concerning," Shadow Freddy stated as he eyed Springtrap wearily, I bit the inside of my mouth wondering what Springtrap would say.
"Mari forgot she left the bathroom tap on that's all," Springtrap explained with a slight chuckle in his voice, this seemed to please everyone and I gave him a thankful look which he returned with a "you owe me" look. I smiled as I sat on a chair I had placed beside the window that looked out into the forest, despite my best efforts to appear wide awake I was tired as all hell. Slowly I began to drift back into a much needed sleep, the moment my eyes closed I fell into the darkness of slumber.
