*insert USTO opening

Operation Lý Thánh Tông

Houston School of Armored Warfare

Lance Corporal Dương Văn "Frost" An

Mission objectives:

Main objective: To support the Tampa Institute of Armored Warfare (TIAW) at Dededo

Support objective: To ambush the Kuromorimine and Ooarai Sensha Do Teams at Dededo with QGP/Việt Cộng conventional tactics when the trap is sprung

Status: Operation Start

USAF Air Force Base, Guam

An's POV:

It has a week since the match started and we were about to start our first operation. So far, our main priority as the USTO forces was to take the city/village of Dededo. 2 Japanese schools, Kuromorimine and Ooarai were assaulting the city from the north, while our Tampa institute of Armored Warfare (TIAW) were the only ones assaulting the city and meeting the Japanese in the south of the city. My forces will bring out the 20 T-15s and 20 Bradleys as the main skirmish force that will surround the city and harass the enemy in the bushes and trees, with me as the commander of that force. The trip was going to be short, at 18 minutes to get there. I headed out with Private Anderson to instruct the skirmish force, with Private Anderson leading the IFV crews, while I took care of the infantry. Our role as infantry was to do recon and survey how many forces there were on the enemy side, and later, as anti-tankers. I advised my guys to bring along RPG-7s once we started engaging Kuromorimine and Ooarai's tanks, which will give them a hell of a surprise. Already in the match we have the 2 sides going at each other, with each side controlling 2 hardpoints each.

I got on my Ops-Core FAST Helmet and grabbed my M27 and proceeded to head out to meet the guys on foot.

Me (to the HSAW members): Alright guys, we are the eyes on the ground for our forces. We are to stay low to do recon and convey our findings before assaulting the enemy positions at the last moment. Rõ chưa? (Understood?)

HSAW Infantrymen: Rõ! (Understood!)

Me: Rồi, đi nào. (Okay, now let's go)

All of the infantry stuck close to their squad leaders, with my squad, which also included McPearson, Hưng, and Townsend. We were to be sitting inside the T-15 Armata commanded by Anderson. Meanwhile Commander Briggs got on the radio.

Briggs: -Commander where the hell are your forces?! We're about to get pummeled out here! Request immediate support! How copy over?!

Me: Support is on the way, ETA: 5 minutes.

Briggs: Great...(to his crewmembers) Guys! We need to hold off for 5 more minutes!

TIAW members: Roger sir!

Briggs: You got my word. Keep using your tactics, it will a great use out here. Good luck.

Me: Good luck to you too.

Once I got done talking to him over the radio, I hopped into the T-15 Armata and we got on our way to the battlefield.

5 minutes later, outskirts of Dededo

We arrived just in time to see the battle still raging on, though they were still not in the trap we wanted them to be in yet.

Me (through radio): Okay, chuản bị để đi xuống hỏi xê, rõ chưa? (Okay, get ready to disembark, understood?)

McPearson, Hưng, Townsend, and the others inside the vehicle: Rõ! (Understood!)

When we arrived at our stop, I quickly yelled all my men to get out of the vehicle.

Me: Mình đến rồi. Đi, đi, đi! (We've arrived. Go, go, go!)

The infantrymen from all the vehicles get out quickly and start to get out their high tech binoculars and start to all lie in the grass. McPearson and I took out our binos as well and we viewed the current battle from a safe distance before we get ready to strike.

Me (through radio): Hết đơn ví. Nhớ đi theo với độ trưởng của đồng chí, rõ chưa? (All units. Remember to stick with your squad leaders, understood?)

HSAW Infantrymen: Rõ! (Understood!)

As I lied down in the grass with the rest of my squad, we could see that the tanks of Kuromorimine and Ooarai were about to go on another assault.

Me (to McPearson): And now we wait.

McPearson: Right sir.

I continue to look through the binos to see the battle and when they are in our trap.

Third Person POV:

Meanwhile the HSAW skirmish force is waiting in the outskirts to spring their trap on the unsuspecting schools, Kuromorimine and Ooarai looked like they were going to push the TIAW tanks out of the fight. Ooarai's main flag tank, Anglerfish Team, was taking out at 3 M4A1s that the TIAW had as part of a recon force.

Saori: Miho, I think that was part of their recon force.

Miho (looking through her binos): Yes, I believe it was.

Just then, Maho got on the radio.

Maho (radio): Sister, I'm facing heavy resistance by TIAW M4A2s southwest of your position. I think this is their main force. The one that was send against you was just their recon force.

Miho (radio): I hear you loud and clear sister, I'm coming your way.

Miho then calls the other teams to go towards the southwest to meet the main TIAW force. They all complied and headed that way. Once they got to the southwest, they found that the TIAW forces were down to just 20 tanks from their original 50.

Miho (radio): Maho, if we can destroy this small force of TIAW forces, we will have control of the city.

Maho (radio): Yes, but don't get your hopes high yet. These TIAW forces are tough to put down. They destroyed 7 of our tanks already.

Miho: So that means we have 51 tanks against their 20 tanks.

Maho: Right.

It would turn out to be a fatal mistake for those schools, as they were right within the trap of the HSAW.

Back in the outskirts, with the HSAW Infantrymen

An's POV:

Me (to all units): Cho hết đơn vị, đấy là Hà Nội 0-1. Kuromorimine và Ooarai đã vào bấy của mình rồi. Chuẩn bị xung phong. (All units, this is Hà Nội 0-1. Kuromorimine and Ooarai have fallen into our trap. Get ready to charge.)

The HSAW infantrymen all around me get ready their weapons, with some of them loading their RPG rounds into their RPGs. All the T-15 and M2 Bradley crews were ready to charge as well.

Briggs (through radio): Commander, their units have fallen into our trap. Are your units ready?

Me: Already four parallel universes ahead of you. We're getting ready to charge and encircle them.

Briggs: You better do it quick, otherwise we're gonna get destroyed out here.

Me: Already on it, over and out.

I turn back to my men and the crew members and signal through the radio and directly to charge.

Me: Chuẩn bị! (Ready!)

Everyone gets their weapons ready.

Me (so that the other schools can hear it): XUNG PHONG! (Charge!)

HSAW infantrymen and IFV crewmembers: XUNG PHONG! (Charge!)

We all charge towards the position of the Kuromorimine and Ooarai schools. Needless to say they were caught off guard with the sudden charge that we had from the bushes surrounding the city. The sky was soon lit up by 100mm shells and Ataka missiles flying from the T-15 Armatas and the 25mm chaingun rounds and TOW missiles from the M2 Bradleys.

Me: XUNG PHONG! NHANH LÊN CÁC ANH EM ƠI! CHO TỔ QUỐC QUÊ HƯƠNG! (Charge! Hurry up brothers! For the homeland!)

HSAW infantrymen: XUNG PHONG! CHO TỔ QUỐC! (Charge! For the homeland!)

Some of the infantrymen started to climb atop the enemy's tanks and disable them by throwing smoke grenades down their hatches, while some of the other infantrymen shot their RPG-7s, instantly disabling some of the stronger Kuromorimine tanks, such as Erika's Tiger 2. As for the remaining Kurmorimine and all of Ooarai's tanks, they were disabled via the 100mm shells, Ataka missiles, 25mm chaingun rounds, and TOW missiles from the T-15s and Bradleys. In the end, I shot an RPG round into the flag tank of Ooarai, Miho's Panzer IV, and McPearson did the same at Kuromorimine's flag tank, Maho's Tiger 1. In the end, both schools had all their tanks disabled by either the RPGs, smoke grenades, or combined fire from the T-15s, Bradleys, and some of the remaining TIAW M4 Shermans. I then assigned Hưng to wave the QGP flag (our official flag) to signal that we have taken the city.

Me (through HSAW and TIAW radio): All units, all units, this is Hà Nội 0-1. Stand down, we have taken the city. The victory is ours. I repeat, stand down, the city is ours.

I was then suddenly met by the cheering of all the HSAW infantrymen, crewmembers, and the TIAW crewmembers and the flag that Hưng was waving signaled our victory. It was then McPearson came up to me.

McPearson: Sir, what do we do with all the girls?

I then ponder for a moment.

Me: Leave them be for now. Take care of the wounded on our side and you and me will see if there is wounded on their side as well. They fought well, they deserve to be treated the same as well. No prisoners today.

McPearson: Yes sir.

While some of the HSAW infantrymen  started to go tend to the wounded of the TIAW, a small group of infantrymen, plus me and McPearson, went over to the girls side to check for wounded and assess the damage. Maho came out of our tank to greet us.

Maho (IJ): Lance Corporal Dương, Private First Class McPearson, that was unexpected, though I acknowledge the fact that you defeated us. How did you all know how to do all of that?

McPearson (IJ): We've seen war, and we used those experiences to our advantage in this battle.

Maho (IJ): Ah, I see. So, are you gentlemen planning to take us as prisoners?

Me (IJ): No, not today. We figured in exchange for the, probably excessive damage done by our RPGs and 100mm shells and 25mm rounds from our IFVs, we take no prisoners, out of respect. You girls fought well today.

Maho (IJ): Arigato. (Thank you.)

Me (IJ): Though I recommend a ceasefire for the next 4 days. Also, have you got any wounded on your side?

Maho (IJ): I think we have none so-

I then heard a painful scream coming out of Miho's Panzer IV.

Maho (IJ): Imouto! (Little Sister!)

Me: McPearson, you and the rest of the infantrymen take care of Kuromorimine's wounded, if there are any. I'll take care of the wounded inside Miho's Panzer IV, got it, soldier?!

McPearson: Yes sir!

Me: Get to it!

I sling my M27 to my side and then ran over to Miho's Panzer IV and opened the commander's hatch to see who yelled out that painful scream.

Me (IJ): Girls, is everything alright in here?!

A girl by the name of Saori answers me.

Saori (IJ): No! Nothing is alright! You're the enemy right? Are you going to take us prisoners?

Me (IJ): No. Right now I need to know who is wounded in here.

Another girl by the name of Yukari answers me.

Yukari (IJ): Our commander, Miho, broke her leg when a round from an anti-tank round knocked the left side of the tank and deformed it enough to break her leg, sir.

I then look outside and see my RPG round deform the left side of the Panzer IV turret the size of a f*cking bowling ball.

Me (IJ): Sorry for that. Must be the excessive force of the RPG round I shot at this vehicle.

Yukari (IJ): Saori, what are we going to do? We have a commander who has a broken leg right now screaming in pain right now.

As she said that, Miho was screaming in pain.

Me (IJ): Get her on my back. I'll piggyback her to Anderson's T-15 Armata. I should have ice in there hopefully.

As soon as I said that, Saori, Yukari, and 2 girls named Hana and Mako helped Miho out of the tank and put her on my back. I could tell from my senses that Miho was slightly blushing, and when I look at her, I stared for a moment at her face, with those beautiful brown eyes and brown hair.

Me (thinking): I think I may have fallen in love.

We all sprinted to Anderson's T-15 and once we got there, I yelled at Anderson inside while the rest of the girls went outside to talk with the rest of the HSAW and TIAW.

Me: Anderson!

Anderson: Yes sir?

Me: Where's the goddamn ice in the vehicle?

Anderson: Bloody hell...why do you need ice sir?

Me (gritting my teeth): Anderson, you f*king 19 Kilo. I have a person on my back who broke her f*cking leg and now you're asking me why I need ice? Pathetic. Now, get the f*cking ice out before I smoke you for the next 4 hours when we come back to base, understood Marine?!

Anderson: Aye sir!

Anderson quickly proceeded to get ice for me, to which I put Miho down on a chair and applied ice to the wounded area.

Me (IJ): Miho, it will hurt for a bit, but the ice should help recover your leg faster, though I doubt it will be better in the next few days.

Miho (IJ): A-arigato, Senpai. (Thank you.) (She blushed and smiled at me)

As she smiled at me, I felt some heat in my cheeks. Must mean that my cheeks are probably red by the sheer blushing I'm probably experiencing right now. By the time I was done applying the ice to Miho's broken leg and sit next to Miho's right side, Maho and McPearson came in.

McPearson: Chào câu. (Hello.)

Me: Chào. Như thế nào rồi? (Hello. How's the situation?)

McPearson: Ở trong đội của Kuromorimine có một người đang bị chảy máu tư cánh tay bên trái, nhưng đang chăm sóc rồi bởi một người trong đội của mình là bác sĩ quân ý. Còn Miho như thế nào rồi? (On Kuromorimine's side, there was one person who was bleeding on the left arm, but is taken care of by one of the battlefield medics. How about Miho?)

Me: Miho ờ đấy bị gãy chân bởi cái vòng chống tăng RPG của tao làm một lỗ có kích thước của một quả bóng bowling trên tháp pháo của chỉ huy.  (Miho got her leg broken because of the RPG round that I shot that made a hole the size of a bowling ball on the commander's turret.)

McPearson: Reasonable.

Me: Since when did we speak Vinglish? (A/N: Vietnamese and English combined XD)

McPearson: I dunno. Ever since you started to chủi 3 que?

Me: Nah. Though they deserve to die in hell.

Maho proceeds to sit next to her sister on the left side while McPearson sits on the left side of Maho.

Maho (IJ): So what are guys talking about?

Me (IJ): Some stuff you probably won't understand.

Maho (IJ): Like?

McPearson (IJ): The fact that our commander likes to chủi 3 que.

Me: Im mồm! Mày cũng thế mà! (Shut up! You do too!)

McPearson: Mày làm trước khi tao! Và tư lệnh dỗi rồi hả? (You did it first. And is our commander being salty, huh?)

Me: Im mồm...phó tư lệnh. (Shut up...Vice Commander.)

Maho (IJ): Who are the 3 que you speak of?

Me (I sigh) (IJ): This is going to be a long one.

I then explain to her the some parts of the Vietnam War and where the 3 que came from.

Me (IJ): -And that's the story.

By the time I'm done, Maho and Miho were amazed.

Maho (IJ): For a soldier, that's impressive.

Me (IJ): You have to remember that my name is in?

Maho (IJ): Vietnamese?

Me (IJ): Yep. And that's the other language of the HSAW, hence why we were able to communicate to each other in Vietnamese so easily. Some of the guys are even Vietnamese Army personnel. Such as Private Phạm just outside.

Maho then took a peak outside to look at Private Hưng and his QĐNDVN patch on his left side.

Maho (IJ): I see. So that's how your tactics evolved.

Me (IJ): Yeah. We are a school that's known to favor asymmetrical warfare because of it's flexibility. I mean, that's how we won the US National Championships after all.

Maho (IJ): Totally different from the Nishizumi style.

McPearson: Yes. And that's the problem with some of the well-known Sensha Do styles. You simply don't have the skills to adapt to the environment. We, though, had to adapt to survive in the harshest of war conditions. That's how me and the Lance Corporal here are still alive.

Maho (IJ): Yes. I understand.

Maho and McPearson stood up to go outside to talk further with each other and with the other schools. Due to exhaustion of the planning and execution of the whole operation, I begin to fall asleep, with Miho doing the same and using my shoulder as a pillow.

Me (thinking): She must be exhausted as well. Leading a whole force for at least a week, no wonder.

I smiled slightly and slowly begin to drift away in the darkness of sleep. I will figure out later if I was going to bring Miho with us so that she can recover or not, since it was going take at a month for her injuries to heal completely. In the meantime though, I enjoyed the moments I can before having to go back to combat again.

Mission status: Operation successful, victory for the HSAW and TIAW
