On the road to support the NYSTT

An's POV:

We were on our way to the village of Yona to support the NYSTT against the University All-Stars team, aka the team that Miho's Ooarai beat last year. From what I heard, the NYSTT was getting pummeled badly, and they have been requesting reinforcements from the rest of our schools for the entire day, but we couldn't support them immediately due to our other objectives. Now though, they will get support from us, the HSAW.

Me (IJ): Miho?

Miho (IJ): Hm?

Me (IJ): How strong are the University All-Stars team? All I heard is that their commander is the daughter of the current holder of the Shimada style, Alice Shimada her name was?

Miho (IJ): Yes. Though their style is a rival to the Nishizumi style, which emphasizes hit-and-run attacks, just like your Quân Giải Phóng method, but even if they are skilled, Alice is still young, and she can sometimes be distracted from something if it attracts her enough.

Me (IJ): Hm. Just like your battle where she payed more attention to that Boko ride than the match?

Miho (IJ): Yes. And also remember, you are all battle-hardened veterans. You have more experience in the use of tactics than them, and you can all fight on foot, something that they cannot. Also, you're all good at special operations.

Me (IJ): Yep. Got myself as a Marine Raider and some of our guys, like McPearson, are Army Rangers. (I lean into her ear) Of course you know me also as the CAG operator Metal 0-4 as well.

Miho slightly giggles.

It would take us at another 5 hours to get to Yona, so I sat tight and waited for what may come.

Yona, Guam

3rd Person POV:

The University All-Stars team was continuing their barrage against the helpless NYSTT tanks, who were dwindling in their numbers from 60 tanks at the start to just only 30 left. The commander of the NYSTT, Commander Dubransk.

Commander Dubransk: Keep shooting! We have to hold them off before the Houstonians get here!

All the NYSTT tanks kept on firing their guns at the University tanks, knocking out some M26 Pattons with their T-34-85s. Meanwhile on the University side, Alice Shimada was discussing their plan to take the village.

Alice: What do suggest we do now that the NYSTT is pinned by our tanks?

Megumi: Maam, I suggest that we strike now, before they get their reinforcements.

Alice: But the NYSTT tanks are in a good position to defend. They're on a hill, making it impossible to flank them without getting seen.

Rumi: May I suggest we attack at night?

Alice: No, Rumi. Our tanks have no night vision capabilities, so it would be easy for that one school we don't know about to pick us off at night.

Alice then pauses.

Alice: As much as I want to use our strategy, we can't. I think that we should continue the barrage until all their tanks are knocked out.

The Bermuda Trio (Megumi, Rumi, and Azumi): Yes maam!

The commanders of the University team continue to relay orders to keep firing at the NYSTT tanks. Back on the hill, one of the NYSTT tanks spot a University squad trying to climb the hill behind their backs.

NYSTT spotter: Sir! We have tanks on our 6!

Commander Dubransk: Then split some of our tanks and target that enemy formation!

NYSTT spotter: Roger!

Some of the NYSTT tanks turn 180 and begin firing at the University tanks trying to traverse the hill from behind them, annihilating all the M26s and M24s in that sector.

Commander Dubransk (thinking): Let's just hope the HSAW gets here in time. Otherwise, we're f*cked.

Outskirts of Yona, HSAW formation

An's POV:

We had just arrived at the outskirts of Yona at almost the midst of sunset, meaning that it was going to be night soon.

Me (radio): All units, all units, this is Hà Nội 0-1, does anyone copy on the NYSTT side, over?

I then hear Commander Dubransk cut through the radio.

Dubransk (radio): About time you showed up.

Me (radio): Heh. Nice to see you too, Dubransk.

He chuckles.

Dubransk (radio): If your men have plans, you better do it fast, we're about to get overrun.

Me (radio): Don't worry. I always have a plan.

I then get on the radio of my units.

Me (radio): McPearson, like before, you get your M1A2Cs behind them and we'll be in front of them. The NYSTT will lure them into our trap, and then-

McPearson (radio): We destroy all their tanks before they can see us. And then we leave it to the NYSTT sir?

Me (radio): Yes. you are absolutely correct, Private. Get into your positions!

McPearson and his 20 M1A2Cs then speed up ahead of us to get behind the enemy's rear, while we still hid in the trees and bushes.

Me (IJ): Miho, how many tanks do the University team have?

Miho (IJ): So far, about 80 tanks.

I then ponder for a moment.

Me (IJ): And the NYSTT is down to only 30 tanks. They'll get pummeled if we don't support them.

Miho (IJ): And keep in mind of the University commander.

Me (IJ): Alice Shimada.

Miho (IJ): She's just like you, only without the military background and tactical expertise that you have.

Me (IJ): Right. Now, just keep on spotting.

Miho then continues to keep on spotting with the tank's cameras while I relay commands to the NYSTT commander.

Me (radio); Dubransk?

Dubransk (radio): Hm?

Me (radio): I need you to do me a favor.

Dubransk (radio): What is it?

Me (radio): Send out your scout tanks and try to lure them into the center plains at point Q15.

Dubransk (radio): I think I can do that.

Me (radio): Once the scout tanks lured them into the plains, we HSAW tanks can fire upon them and destroy them before they can have a chance to respond, or even see us.

Dubransk (radio): I like your thinking, Lance Corporal.

Me (radio): Well, when you're so used to doing hit-and-run VC style, you'll know how important it is to place traps and be hidden in the jungle all the time.

Dubransk (radio): Right. Anyways, I'll send out my scout tanks now.

Me (radio): Do it.

Back to the NYSTT

3rd Person POV:

Dubransk then gets the remaining 5 scout tanks to lure them into the HSAW trap.

Dubransk (radio to scout tanks): Alright listen up here. Your tanks will be bait and you lure the enemy to point Q15, aka the plains. Once they expose themselves, their tanks will fire upon them like sitting ducks and we'll take the village from there, understood?

NYSTT scouts: Yes sir!

The NYSTT scout T-50 tanks then sped forward as they tried to lure the University team into a trap. On the University side, Alice from her binoculars, saw that the enemy was sending out scout tanks to harass her units.

Alice: Megumi, I'm seeing enemy tanks rushing towards our positions. I think this is a scout team.

Megumi: In that case, we can follow them and it will lead us directly to the enemy team, and then we can hit them hard so that they can't recover.

Alice: So you have the same plan as me. (she then gets on the radio) All units, this is Alice. The enemy has send scout units to try and harass our units. If we can chase them, they will lead us to the enemy team, and then we can encircle them and destroy them.

University units: Yes maam, it will be done!

All the University units pushed forward against the enemy tanks, not knowing that this was the same trap that the HSAW had used on Kuromorimine and Ooarai in their battle days earlier. Nevertheless, they pushed forward into the plains where the enemy is awaiting them on top of a hill close to there.

Alice (radio): There's the enemy. Encircle them.

But as the University tanks tried to encircle the remaining NYSTT tanks, they were met by a volley of fire coming seemingly out of nowhere. It destroyed 10 of the University M26s and M24s, leaving it down to 70 tanks, along with the E-75 heavy tank.

Alice (radio): Who is firing at us?!

Rumi (radio): Maam, we don't know at this moment. We'll try to relay the information back to you once we get a clear idea who shot us.

Alice (radio): Make it quick!

Alice then waited for a reply.

Rumi (radio): Maam, unfortunately who ever has done this is well concealed and we don't have the capability to find them.

Alice (radio): The fire came from the bushes and trees over there. Try firing at that.

Some of the M26 tanks then fired into the bushes and trees, but there was no penetration or tanks seen.

Alice (radio): All units, we have fallen into a trap. Scatter out!

The M26s and M24s scattered out of their position and tried to get into a more favorable position, but as they were doing just that, they were then picked off by McPearson's M1A2C units hiding just behind them. At this point it was chaos for the University team.

Alice (radio and gritting her teeth): Order! Order! We need to scatter out now!

As they were doing the same thing they had been doing, the all familiar war cry was let out.

An: XUNG PHONG! (CHARGE!)

HSAW tanks: XUNG PHONG! (CHARGE!)

Dubransk: Charge!

NWSTT tanks: CHARGE!

It was then that Alice realized how bad of a situation her units got themselves into.

HSAW side

An's POV:

Me: XUNG PHONG! (CHARGE!)

HSAW tanks: XUNG PHONG! (CHARGE!)

As my tanks were charging on their positions, the NYSTT team begin to do the same. Instead of them encircling us, they were encircled instead.

Miho: Frost!

Me: Hm?

Miho: Target their E-75 heavy tank! That might provide the biggest obstacle to us!

Me: Got it.

I then load a Vacuum-1 APFSDS round.

Me: Loading, Vacuum-1!

I then see the round go inside the gun and I aim down my sights at the heavy tanks and press the button.

Me: Vacuum-1, firing!

I then see the round penetrate the E-75 heavy, but did not take it down.

Me: Loading, Vacuum-1!

Once the round was chambered again, I aimed down and took a second shot at the tank, and the round disabled it.

Me: Enemy heavy tank down!

As all the HSAW and NYSTT tanks rushed at the University tanks, and while some of the enemy tanks fired rounds at us, it was either stopped by the armor of the T-14 or M1A2C tanks, or they got destroyed via the APS systems on our tanks. I then catch a glimpse of the flag tank on their team, Alice's Centurion.

Me (radio): Viper! You and all the other units take out the rest of the remaining University tanks! I'm going after the flag tank.

McPearson (radio): Yes sir!

Me: Townsend, slow the tank down. Miho?

Miho: Yeah?

Me: I need you to spot Alice's Centurion. I need to be able to snipe her tank.

Miho: Got it. Wait...you're a sniper?

Me: Second best, only bested by Anderson.

Miho: Nice.

Miho pops the commander's hatch open and begins to look for Alice's Centurion.

Miho: Alice's tank is trying to back up and flank us. Distance: 900 yards.

Me: I can take it. Loading, Telnik!

I then load a Telnik HEAT-Frag round into the gun and aim down the sights.

Me: Centurion spotted.

I then hold my breath.

Me: Firing!

I then fire the round and see that it goes straight through the Centurion's armor and may had caused a small fire, but it was quickly extinguished.

Me: Bullseye.

Miho was in awe.

Miho: Good job, (switches to Japanese) love.

Me (IJ): Well, er, thanks.

I then relay the orders to the rest of the units.

Me (radio): All units, this is Hà Nội 0-1. All enemy tanks are destroyed. This is now the NYSTT's job to clean up the place. Dubransk?

Dubransk (radio): Got it. All HSAW tanks, withdraw, my men have got this under control now.

Me (radio): Got it.

All of my school's tanks turned a 180 degree turn and we proceeded to head back to base, this time with night vision on as it was getting dark.

Me (radio): To all HSAW crewmembers, mission accomplished.

I then heard cheers through the radio.

Me (radio): You men can rest easy now. Commander An, signing out.

As our tanks were heading back to base, Miho leaned onto my right shoulder and yawned.

Me (IJ): Tired, love?

Miho (IJ) (yawning): Yeah. I am.

Me (IJ): It's been a long day.

She then quickly turns my head to her face and kisses me briefly on the lips. I slightly blushed.

Miho (IJ): Was that nice enough?

Me (IJ): Yeah, it was. Now, you need to sleep for a bit. You're also tired from spotting all day as well.

Miho (IJ) (leaning on my chest now and holding my hands): Yes, I am. Now (yawning) I'm going to go to sleep for a bit, okay love?

Me (IJ): Well then, have sweet dreams (I lightly kiss her forehead) my little angel.

Miho then falls asleep on my chest while cuddling with me.

Townsend (whispering): So sir, looks like you and Miho hooked up.

Me: Yes, but don't tell anyone. I want to keep it as secret as I can now.

Townsend: That will be done, sir.

Townsend continues driving the T-14.

Townsend: So sir, it looks like we're ahead now.

Me: Yep. We've got 5 villages while they have only 4.

I then stroke Miho's hair while she was sleeping.

Me (thinking): She looks cute when she sleeps. Now, I'm wondering how I managed to win her in the first place.

I then ponder that thought throughout the rest of the way back to base.

Status: Operation successful. Victory for the HSAW and NYSTT.
