These last few months have gone by impossibly fast, and James is growing just as quickly. He looks to be almost a year old, and so it confirmed our suspicions that he inherited Steve's serum genes.

As the days go on, he gets closer to taking his first steps and saying his first words, the whole team can hardly contain their excitement. And their bets...

"His first words will be Tony. No doubt. I️ mean it's part of his name too. And anyways I'm cooler—"

"Just because he shares your name, doesn't mean he's gonna say it first! He's been spending a lot of time with his Auntie Nat, he loves me most."

Steve simply looks at me and rolls his eyes in exasperation making me laugh. We simply sit in our spot on the couch, James giggling from Steve's lap, watching the team argue within themselves, trying to see who's got the best reason as to who will be his first words.

"They're all so full of it. His first words will be Dad, isn't that right James?" Steve says as he bounces our son on his knee making the boy giggle like crazy.

Suddenly the room grows quiet and I️ look up to see the entire team looking to their captain, all with looks of disbelief on their faces.

"You're so sure of yourself are ya Spangles?"

Tony sasses crossing his arms over his chest, and I️ have to hold back a laugh at the serious look on his face, and Steve sighs at the resurgence of the nickname.

"Of course." Steve sends a smirk at my brother. "I'm his father, and I'm the coolest one here. So if I'm being honest—"

"Now you wait a second! What makes you think, you're the coolest one here? I'm sorry, who's got all the brains here—"

"Now Tony don't get ahead of yourself, with saying you got all the brains." Bruce jumps in making me laugh out loud. The "science bros" bicker for some time before a serious looking Maria Hill walks in with Thor, making all of us jump to attention.

"We've found a lead to the scepter. Thor believes it to be here, in Sokovia." We all stand at the news, Steve handing James to my arms, in full Cap mode.

"How do we know this isn't a false lead again?" He says taking the tablet from Hill looking over the readings.

"The amount of energy radiating from the base is consistent with Selvig's reports. I️ have a feeling it is there." Thor explains, and it surprises me he even understood Selvig's notes...if you didn't have a trained eye, nobody would understand them..

"And we're supposed to believe you off a hunch Point Break?"

"He's right Tony." I️ say after looking over the readings. "It has to be here." At my confirmation, everyone slips into Avenger mode as Hill fills us in.

"The base is ran by a, Baron Von Strucker, complete mad scientist. There's been accounts of him performing illegal human experiments, but of course no proof."

"Strucker? Wasn't he one of SHIELD's, or I guess HYDRA's, engineering scientists?" I ask, recalling the name from my time at SHIELD.

"The same. That's why I wouldn't doubt those claims against him. Guy's a psycho." Hill mutters before Steve addresses the group.

"Well it seems in the best interest of everyone that we head to Sokovia as soon as possible. We'll work on the schematics of the base while we move, but we need that scepter. So be ready, we'll leave in an hour." As everyone disperses, Steve looks at me and I put up my hand, already knowing where this is going.

"I'm going Steve. No if, ands, or buts about it." With a sigh he runs his hands down his face before looking at our son, who is staring at his father in curiosity.

"What about James?"

"Hill can watch him. She's been dying to try and get him all to herself." I giggle slightly at how our big, bad Avengers fight over the attention of a child.

"Okay. But what if we—"

"Don't. Don't even bring it up Steve. This is just a reconnaissance mission. Everything will go smoothly."

Knowing we've done hundreds of these missions looking for the stupid scepter, and everything was always fine. What's the difference now? He simply nods his head, placing a kiss on James' forehead before doing the same to mine.

"We're on the clock. Let's get moving." I nod before going and finding Hill.

"Maria, can I talk to you real quick?"

"Of course. Hey buddy." She smiles at me before taking James from my arms, and he gives her a wide grin.

"Would you be alright keeping an eye on him when we leave? If not, that's fine I can sit this one—"

"It's fine Clara. I can watch him. You guys will need all the man power you can get to take this down."

"Thank you. I really appreciate it. You be good for Auntie Maria, okay? Mommy and Daddy will be home soon."

I kiss his little forehead as he smiles at me, before giggling with Hill, and I quickly take my leave, not wanting to think about how this is the first time I'm leaving my son since he's been born. We'll be back soon...

Meeting up with Steve, we quickly get our things together and meet everyone at the Quinjet. Wasting no time to get to Sokovia, and finally finish this.
