Karina stood in front of her mirror, her usual sharp and intimidating mafia attire replaced with something much more casual. Black jeans hugged her figure perfectly, and the simple crop top she wore left just enough to the imagination. She slipped on a pair of sneakers and grabbed her leather jacket, feeling oddly nervous for reasons she couldn't quite place.
When she arrived at the university, Winter was waiting for her near the fountain in the courtyard. Her platinum hair gleamed in the sunlight, and she wore a white sundress that contrasted beautifully with Karina's darker ensemble. Winter smiled brightly as she spotted Karina, waving enthusiastically.
"You look... different," Winter said as Karina approached, her tone teasing but kind. "Not that scary boss vibe anymore."
Karina smirked, feeling a blush creep up her neck. "Yeah, well, I figured it wouldn't be great to scare off half of Seoul today."
Winter laughed, a sound so light and genuine that it made Karina's chest feel warm. "Fair enough. So, what's the plan?"
Karina hesitated. She wasn't used to this-planning casual outings, letting her guard down. "I figured we could explore the city. You can show me your favorite spots."
Winter's eyes lit up. "Deal. Let's go."

As they wandered through the streets of Seoul, Winter chatted animatedly about her life. Karina learned that Winter was an art major, specializing in mixed media, and that she also ran a popular skincare channel on social media.
"It's just a little thing I started for fun," Winter said, blushing slightly as she adjusted her tote bag. "But it's grown a lot. People seem to like my tips."
Karina raised an eyebrow. "A little thing? I checked out your channel after I saw you last time. You have, like, half a million followers."
Winter laughed nervously. "Okay, maybe it's more than a little thing. But it's nothing compared to what you do."
Karina tilted her head, curious. "What do you think I do?"
Winter shrugged, a playful grin on her lips. "Something mysterious and dangerous, judging by how you carried yourself that day. But I'm not prying-everyone's got their secrets."
Karina felt a flicker of relief that Winter wasn't pushing for answers. "Something like that," she replied cryptically.
Their day continued with a visit to a bustling street market, where Winter insisted Karina try various snacks. They stopped by a small art gallery that Winter loved, and Karina found herself genuinely interested in the pieces Winter explained with so much passion.
As the sun began to set, the two found themselves sitting on a bench overlooking the Han River. Winter stretched her legs out in front of her, her expression serene.
"This has been fun," she said, turning to Karina. "You're not as scary as I thought you'd be."
Karina chuckled. "I'll take that as a compliment."
Winter leaned closer, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "So, mysterious stranger, are you ever going to tell me your real name?"
Karina hesitated for a moment before deciding to take a small leap. "It's Karina. And you?"
"Winter," she said with a grin. "Nice to meet you, Karina."
The way Winter said her name, soft and genuine, sent a strange warmth through Karina

After a long day of exploring Seoul, Karina walked Winter to her apartment building. Winter turned to her with a smile, her eyes twinkling under the soft glow of the streetlights.
"Thanks for today," Winter said. "I had a great time."
Karina nodded, her usual cold demeanor softened by the warmth of Winter's presence. "Me too."
Winter tilted her head, studying Karina for a moment before breaking into a grin. "You're not as mysterious as you think, you know."
Karina smirked but didn't respond, watching as Winter disappeared through the doors of her building. Once she was gone, Karina let out a deep breath, her mind swirling with unfamiliar feelings.
When Karina returned to the base, the atmosphere was tense, as it often was after a mission. She made her way to the main room, where Giselle was lounging on a couch, her hair styled in a sleek ponytail. A faint smear of blood stained her shirt, and her knuckles looked slightly bruised-a clear sign that she'd been on one of her missions.
The moment Giselle saw Karina, she froze mid-bite of a sandwich. Her eyes scanned Karina's outfit, and a knowing grin spread across her face.
"Wait a second," Giselle said, standing up. "Black jeans? Crop top? Sneakers? Karina, did you actually go out looking like a regular person?"
Karina rolled her eyes, brushing past her. "Don't start."
"Oh, I'm definitely starting," Giselle teased, following her into the kitchen. "Let me guess-you were with that girl from the university?"
Karina turned to face her, her expression unreadable. "What if I was?"
Giselle leaned against the counter, crossing her arms. "Nothing. Just surprising to see you let your guard down like that. So, what's she like?"
"She's... different," Karina admitted, her voice quieter than usual. "She's an art major. And a skincare influencer."
Giselle blinked, then burst out laughing. "A skincare influencer? Oh, this is gold. The cold, ruthless leader of the AESPA mafia hanging out with a skincare influencer. You're full of surprises, Karina."
Karina shot her a glare. "Don't make me regret telling you."
Giselle held up her hands in mock surrender. "Alright, alright. I'll stop. But for real-did you have fun?"
Karina hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Yeah. I did."
Giselle's grin softened into a genuine smile. "Good. You deserve that, you know. Just... be careful. You know how this world works."
Karina didn't respond, but Giselle's words lingered in her mind. As she walked away to her office, she couldn't shake the thought that Winter represented something she hadn't allowed herself to feel in years: hope.
