They talked and talked as the party raged on outside their little bubble. Where they were calm, lounging and taking time to slow down in the storm of life, the party did the opposite. It whirled people through, spinning them round and round until they were sick and tired of people and their faces.

Emi laughed, her head tilting back as Will told her another story about something dumb he and Stephen got themselves into, unintentionally. Or another Uber ride with unusual words being forced into conversations with unsuspecting drivers just looking for their stars and money.

He'd never met her before this night, that he could remember, but as he sat there with her he felt as if he'd known her his whole life.

It was funny how it worked like that. One accident lead to something beautiful. A new friendship, or more. When she laughed like that at his jokes and unfortunate stories, he hoped for the latter.

Emi grew more comfortable with him as he sobered up. The book lay forgotten at her feet as she told him about the time she and Kirsty got kicked out of Ikea because Kirsty decided she was tired and wanted to sit down. She chose to sit in the basket of stuffed kid's toys right in front of an employee.

They were swiftly kicked out, laughing the entire time. Laughing so hard they could barely breathe.

And, in hindsight, the store was totally justified in kicking them out and they must've looked disrespectful in the way they doubled over laughing, but they didn't care. It was fun and worth every dirty look.

"I didn't think you had it in you," Will told her, grinning almost as widely as she was. It was a good look on her and he couldn't stop wanting to make her smile and laugh and gasp for air between giggles.

"What? I'm not as much of a good girl as you thought?" She joked, leaning forward teasingly.

He raised an eyebrow in surprise. Was she flirting with him? Or just overtired? He didn't think it mattered because he was too busy staring right into her beautiful brown eyes. He didn't think brown eyes could be described as beautiful, but there he was staring into Emi's and wondering whether blue eyes could ever compare. Sure, they had the seas and the skies, but she had an untrembling warmth that struck deep and with a comforting look about them that couldn't be seen in any other.

Between the eyeliner she'd smudged at the corner of her right eye and her outstanding eyes and beautiful smile, Will knew he wasn't making a mistake when he leant forwards and kissed her, ever so softly.

He was certain he wasn't making a mistake when her cold hand touched his cheek and she kissed him back.

Will tasted of alcohol, that fact was undeniable, but she didn't mind. Someone who made her smile as wide as he did was worth kissing in the middle of a dim-lit storage room atop lumpy, worn out beanbags.

When she pulled back from the most passionate kiss of her life, she found herself wanting to kiss him again and again and again. Instead, she laughed breathily. It hit his mouth, teasingly so.

"Definitely not as much of a good girl as I thought," He murmured, kissing her again with a hand on her waist, holding her close.

She hummed in agreement against his lips and fell into the kiss, thanking her lucky stars.

Will and Emi lay there once more sharing stories, him with his arm around her. It was almost blissful. As if it were only them in the entire building, city even, and they had all the time in the world to talk and talk until there was nothing left to say. She didn't think she'd ever run out of things to talk about with Will.

That was why it came as such a surprise when the door flung open, hitting against the wall, and Kirsty and Lewis came bustling in. They were wrapped up together in a knit of lust and need, and barely noticed Emi and Will until she took a double take.

"Emi?" She gasped. "Are you actually going to have a one night stand or am I dreaming?"

Emi cleared her throat and sat up, her cheeks burning. "No, we got locked in, but we'll leave you guys to it," She hurried to say, standing up and stuffing her book into her bag.

"Alright, see you tomorrow," Kirsty replied, not worried about Emi or the guy she'd been with.

Will and Emi left the storage room, Emi making sure the door didn't lock on their way out, learning from their mistakes.

"I- um..." Emi began, turning to Will. It felt weird to be out of there, but she was very grateful.

Will scratched the back of his neck. "Would it be weird if I asked for your number?" He asked, glancing down at his feet.

"Not at all," Emi replied, holding her hand out for his phone. Quickly, she typed in her number, but hesitated in giving it back, keeping a hold of it as Will held it too. "Call me, ok?"

"I will, don't worry," He joked, nudging her arm slightly.

She laughed, shaking her head at his shamelessness. "I should probably get back to my friends... They'll be worrying."

"Me too."

"So, I'll talk to you soon?"

"Yeah, talk to you soon."

She gave him one last smile before she slipped back into the crowd, searching for her friends and sighing with relief when she finally spotted Lucy and Sarah dancing together. She pushed through the crowd and was pulled into hugs by both, each of them asking where she'd been.

Emi told them she'd explain when they were sober and danced the rest of the night away, thinking of the boy she'd met in the storage room who'd kissed her like she was worth the world.
