(Reader's P.O.V.)

I remain silent as the stranger's frown deepens. "Ah, of course you don't know. We've met before but not like this. We met you as Iblis and Mephiles. Right now I am both halves combined. My feelings for you are a combination of their feelings for you. I was distraught when I thought you were dead. But now you're back and now everything is... everything is... ruined. I ruined everything. I, we, felt a world without you shouldn't exist so I destroyed it. But now you're back and there is no world..." The stranger starts sobbing uncontrollably. I felt a little guilty so I hugged him in an attempt to comfort him. The 6-foot-tall hedgehog buries his head into my shoulder as he holds me close. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. It's all my fault. We never should've met that day. If I had never disguised myself as him, if I had never run into you, none of this would've happened." "Right now, the one talking is Mephiles, right?" His sobs suddenly stop as a sudden shock hits him. "So you do remember? At least one of us. Sorry, let me reintroduce myself. I'm Solaris, the sun god. You have no idea how much you mean to me, to us. I destroyed the world because you weren't in it. I'm the most cruel god. Taking away the world from everyone else because one mortal wasn't in it isn't fair. But if I had to choose between you and the world, I'd choose you every time." "Meph-Solaris, please don't say you wish you never met me. Given the choice between you and the world, I'd choose you too." I smile at him and he smiles too. For once I actually see a genuine smile on Mephiles' face. It fades too quickly though. "This still isn't right. I have to fix this. Even if it hurts me. I have to undo this. I love you so much. Please forgive me." He kisses me and everything fades to white.

(Solaris' P.O.V.)

I kiss her with tears in my eyes as I start using my power to undo all I have done. As she vanishes from my present timeline, I head backwards to the point where it began and stop Shadow from leaving her. This is for the best. Please take good care of her, Shadow.
