(Mephiles' P.O.V.)

    Several weeks have passed since meeting (Y/N). I've gotten so good at imitating Shadow, I actually almost believed I was him. I know I'm not but it is certainly a close resemblance. Today she was happily making breakfast while I sat watching the news. A strange blue light appeared last night. So he's finally figured out where in time I went. But, so long as I keep this disguise he'll never find me. I've already grown to like it here with her. I want to bring back the smile that Shadow made her lose. I want to make her fall in love with me. If I can. She smiles as she sets the table for breakfast. "Shadow, I made breakfast. And I made sure to put a lot of sugar in your coffee this time." I sit at the table and eat breakfast with her. Though I don't need to eat, I have to in order to keep up the illusion that I'm Shadow. When I finish she takes my plate and washes it in the sink. "So, I was thinking maybe we should visit that café you like and see if you remember something there." I smile at her. Despite all my lying to her and the guilt I've felt for doing so, her smile has made it worthwhile. I'm almost jealous that Shadow kept her all for himself for so long. "That sounds lovely my dear. I'm sure seeing more of these familiar places will spark something." Her (E/C) eyes sparkle with delight. She takes my hand and we head to that café. She smiles and laughs as she tells me of 'my' past. Her past with him always seems so happy. To her, he was her world. And now she's starting to become mine. I'm sure my lies can be forgiven so long as she continues to smile like that.

(Silver's P.O.V.)

    300 years in the future, Mephiles escaped. That's exactly 100 years past my era. When Mephiles traveled back in time, however... my present timeline changed. Everything became dark and the sun disappeared from the sky. The world was consumed with darkness and everyone fell into despair. He simply look down on us and laughed at our misfortune. That's why I'm here now, in the past, to find him and fix my future before it's too late.

(Reader's P.O.V.)

    We returned home after our small date when I noticed Shadow panic and rush into the bathroom. Worried, I knock on the door. "Shadow? Is everything okay?" I hear him cough a few times before he answers me. "I-I'm alright. I just suddenly felt sick that's all. Nothing for you to worry about, (Y/N)." "Was it the cake? I'll admit the frosting was a little too sweet for me. Are you sure you're okay Shadow?" I hear panicked breathing on the other side of the door and some quiet muttering. What's gotten into him?
