(Reader's P.O.V.)

I awoke on cold hard concrete. It's dark out. How long have I been asleep here? And where exactly is here? I get up off the cold pavement and begin surveying my surroundings. Shadow always told me that if I'm ever somewhere unfamiliar, the first thing I should do is take a look at my surroundings and look for clues to tell me where I am. That broken street sign said 'Station Square'. But, how is that possible? I was visiting Shadow's grave just moments ago. In that short amount of time, did something happen? "Miss you need to be careful! It's not safe here!" A woman calls out to me. She grabs me and pulls me under a broken overhang. "Are you alright miss?" I turn to look at her. She's a lavender cat with hair tied in a ponytail. She has sharp golden eyes and she looks almost like a princess. "Umm, I'm alright but, who are you?" She lets go of my arm and sighs. "My name is Blaze. You know it's not safe here. If he finds you, he'll kill you." "And where exactly is here?" Her eyes widen in surprise and she takes a good look at me. "You're not from here, are you? You're clothes look new and undamaged. Not to mention you have no scratches, bruises, or even a single speck of dirt on you. Where did you come from? Who are you?" "My name is (Y/N) (L/N). I'm from Station Square. The last place I remember being was the graveyard. I was visiting my late fiancé when someone attacked me from behind. The next thing I knew I woke up here." She sits there silent, in thought. "Well, Miss (L/N), I have some good news and some bad news. Mostly bad news. The good news is that you're still in Station Square and are unharmed. The bad news is that you're not in a very good place right now. You asked me where we are right now, when you should be asking when." "When? But that would mean I'm..." "In the future. Right now you're standing in Station Square 200 years from your time." I take a good look at my surroundings again. The place I thought unfamiliar suddenly becomes familiar to me. These ruins, this whole city, used to be my home. "What happened to this place? How do you know all this?" "Silver brought me here and asked for my help. He said his world suddenly changed and asked me if I could help him fix the damage. As for what happened to this place all you need to do is look up." She points at a figure floating in the sky. My heart aches when I recognize him.

(Future Mephiles' P.O.V.)

Despair. That's all I can feel. Not just mine, but others as well. I can feel all of it and the more people fall into it, the stronger I become. But there's something else here. Something I haven't felt in a long time. A different kind of despair. The sorrow of a broken heart. I haven't felt that since... wait. Is it possible? Could she still be... after all these years... alive? Looking below me I see them. Blaze and someone else. Someone I haven't seen in 200 years. She's looking up at me. At what I've become. The monster everyone wanted me to be.
