Y/N pov: it's been a couple of days ever since I moved into National City. I got a call from my buddy who goes by the name Sentinal about finding the killer for me. My man Sentinal who's known as Jason Kelly is a friend of the family. I considered him as a brother. He promised to find the killer and work with his team to make sure Adam is in the dirt. I thanked him and hung up after saying goodbye. I look around and smiled. I liked what I done with the place. I settled in quite well. I haven't met my next door neighbour yet but I'm willing to meet him or her later. Right now I head down to my 4 seater SUV and decide to drive at a bar that's got some aliens in it which was new to me. I haven't seen one up close, I haven't even seen Supergirl face to face yet. Anyway Its a 5-7 minute drive to the bar so I'm in some traffic at the moment. I notice my pistol on my right and remember the moment when Sentinal had his head cut off. He's a cyborg, the criminal named Headmaster took control of his body and used it to ruin Sentinal's reputation. But luckily I saved the day and attached his head back on.

You: *satisfied sigh* those were the good ol days.

Some time later I finally arrive to the bar and exit my vehicle and head on in. The place was pretty quiet at the moment. I look around and the bartender. I approach and order a drink. Nothing alcoholic. I waited for some time and took out my phone. I recently purchased a decoration item and prayed it would arrive within this week. The bartender comes back and hands me the drink. I ordered a fruit blend, nothing else. I handed some money over, thanked the bartender and took a seat on one of the tables. I check through my emails and find the email I was looking for.

You: September 8th. Right.

I keep scrolling through and start to hear some noise outside the door. A girl and her friends walk through and share some laughs. I just sit here minding my own business. I came across an email about the DEO or something.

You: recruiting new members? Hmm. Maybe.

I log off my phone and look towards the girl and her friends. But something told me about this girl looked familiar. She had blonde golden hair, glasses and crystal blue eyes. The same eyes, the same hair colour and style and the way she moved. Something told me that this was my high school friend Kara Danvers. It was at this time one of her friends looked at me.

Her friend: Hey Kara, I think you've got some attention.

I immediately look away and took notice that it was Kara. My old friend is literally in the same bar as me.

Kara: oh I do? Here I'm gonna talk to him. He does look familiar.

I start to regret my decision to even look at the girl who is Kara. I overthink some things and thats when I heard the cute greeting.

Kara: hi.

You: oh *nervous giggle* hey there.

Kara: you don't mind if I sit with you?

You: yeah sure I don't mind.

She sits beside me as her friends and I notice her sister with them as well. Great... more company.

Kara: so uh. What's your name?

You: your Kara Danvers right?

Kara: yeah, wait do I know you?

She raises an eyebrow.

You: we've been in high school together. My name is Y/N Sumdac L/N.

Kara figures it out and immediately hugs me. Boy does she feel strong.

You: woah ok. Hugs immediately. Oof your strong.

Kara: sorry. I've been working out lately. But it's good to see you again.

Her male friend shouts over.

Male friend: hey Kara, do you know him?

Kara smirks and brings me to her table.

Kara: yes I know him. Alex, you may know Y/N right.

Alex: oh hey Y/N. Long time since I last saw you.

You: well you too. So who are the rest?

Kara: this is James and Nia. Our other friend couldn't make it today. She has some work to do.

You: well good to meet all of you.

James: wait a second. Aren't you the police officer known as Optimus right?

You: was. I revoked my badge.

James: yeah. Didn't you revoke it because of uh... You don't mind If i mention it?

You: about my sisters death? Nah I don't mind.

Nia: your sister died?! That's... Terrible.

You: a couple of years ago she did. Well it all started when she disappeared. I searched for her for 3 and a half years to only find out she was killed by her ex boyfriend.

Kara: that's horrible. Did you find him?

You: no. But my best friend is searching for him for me. I revoked my badge so I can't look for him.

Alex: well... I do work for the DEO. We do take in highly dangerous criminals to justice. We can help you search for him.

You: thanks but. My buddy can handle it. I just want to live normally.

James: we understand. Same thing with me.

Kara: yeah. We all do.

You all laugh.

You: so what brings you to the bar?

Kara: Karaoke.

You: oh really?

Kara: yeah. Remember your singing always rivaled mine?

You: oh *chuckle* yep I remember. Still got that voice with me.

Alex: why not show us you still have it?

You: fine by me

Kara: good thing it's starting. I normally go first but...

You: ladies first.

I think I made her blush:

Alex: did you just make my sister blush?

You: well according to my calculations and my brain. Yes I think I did.

Kara giggles at my reply to her sister. She gets on stage and starts off the Karaoke with take me on by Aha. Honestly the song I though of would just kill of the competition completely. I was next on stage. I start to notice that there were more people in the bar. I felt a bit nervous but got along and prayed they had the song I was looking for.

You: right there it is. Just saying to all of you here tonight. Um I think this performance is going to kill the competition. I'm not bragging or anything, just pointing it out. That's all.

I give a thumbs up to Kara and the song starts playing:

Timeskip 5 minutes after the song ends, Kara's pov: his singing was amazing. It sounded like he hasn't lost his singing voice yet. I have to admit. His singing beats mine. I notice him going back to his vehicle and I tap him on the shoulder to ask where he's going next.

Kara: hey, you going back to your place?

You: yeah, you want me to take you back to yours?

Kara: that's so kind of you. Of course.

I enter though the other door and sit beside Y/N.

You: so where do you live?

Kara: Apartment B.

You: wait that's where I live.

Kara: what door number?

You: 45, 7th floor

Kara: I am right beside your door! Your the new neighbour I've heard about.

You: oh. That's good.

I smile at him as he drives off to the apartment. I ask him about his adventures as a officer. He told me his friend was a Cyborg and had his head cut off in an embarrassing moment.

You: he told me not to laugh before I went over to him. This is what he said. "uh Optimus, would you kindly call off the uh search for the criminal as he's highly dangerous" I ask him why. He says "Just please do it ok. It's a false alarm and one last thing before you come over to me" I say what. He replied with "that you won't laugh".

This was when we arrived to the apartment.

You: oh hold the story for a moment. I think it's best we save it the funny part for when we're inside.

Kara: can't wait to hear it. Why not come in with me.

You: sure.

We head up the stairs and finally reach the door to mine as I open it. He enters with me and I close it.

You: ok where was I?

Kara: you were at the part that he said "don't laugh"

You: oh. Right. I go to his position marked on my radar. I ask where he is. All I hear is "look down" Iook down and there he is. A head without a body.

I start to giggle a little.

You: I burst out of laughter at the sight of seeing him. He said "you promised you wouldn't laugh".

I start laughing at his story and pop the question.

Kara: was this when you were new or?

You: midway through. Yeah, me and Sentinal had a rivalry for fun. It was enjoyable though.

Kara: I'm just glad your still alive though. I never thought I'd see my best friend again.

You: same thing with me Kara. Anyway I should head to bed. I'm uh pretty *yawn* tired.

Kara: well off you go sleepy head.

I make him smirk with my comment. Before he left he made sure to say goodnight to me which I replied back to him. Since he closed the door, that's when I used my super speed to change into my pj's and sit on the couch watching some TV. The fact he went to bed a bit early has me concerned. Oh wait. Its work tomorrow. Does that mean he's? Omg, did he land a job at Catco!!? Or maybe something else? Guess I'll have to find out tomorrow...
