"Happy Birthday!" Tom's voice whispered at my ear and I smiled not wanting to open my eyes yet. "You're now 18, you're so old." He laughed and I curled my lips to repress another smiled.

"Well, my old ass wants to sleep." I said turning to put my head in his chest, I hugged him like a koala and he left a kiss on my hair.

"My ass is still better than yours." He patted my shoulder.

"My boobs are still better than yours." I joked trying to fall asleep again. I felt his hand moving from my hip to my boob. "Hey! Watch your hands!" I yelled and laughed at the same time.

"C'mon babe, let's get ready." He muttered sitting up and leaving his spot right next to me.

"Nooooo." I cried silently. "Stay hereeee, I wanna cuddle." He just shook his head with a smile on his face. "Tom, it's my birthday."

"Yeah, it is." He confirmed as I opened my eyes looking at him. "Today's the day we go back home." He smiled and I rolled my eyes. "What?"

"I liked this time alone, not gonna lie." I shrugged. "But sure, it's time we go home and clear things out." I sighed and sat up. "Let me call Harrison."

"Ok, I'll be in the kitchen making breakfast." He left a quick kiss on my lips and then walked towards the kitchen.

I took my phone and noticed some birthday messages from Thessa and some people on Facebook. I didn't have time to read them, so I searched Haz's contact and called him. "Hello?"

"Hey, it's me." I smiled. "How are you?"

He stopped for a second and then answered. "Renata! Happy birthday, you're now an adult and a woman." He laughed and I smiled.

"Oh, now I'm a woman, what about before?" I joked.

"You were a kid." He simply said. "Mom and dad are still worried about you."

"Yeah yeah, I got their calls and messages." I snorted. "Remember our plan?" As soon as Tom and I left London, I called Harrison and explained the whole situation, he agreed to help us for 20£.

"Of course I do, do I look dumb or something?" I could picture him rolling his eyes. "But I'm willing to listen the explanation again." I giggled and then cleared my throat.

"We're coming home today, in like... Two or three hours? I'll text you later the time. You have to make sure that our parents will be at our home, both our parents." I specified.

"Osterfield and Holland together, huh? That's a bad idea and I'm in for it."

"Thank you Haz." I whispered.

"Don't worry sis, if they didn't call the police after your "run away thing", they won't get in the way either." I knew he was right, but they didn't call the police mostly because my parents are both very famous for their jobs, having their kid running away could comprise their imagine and when I called them to explain the whole situation they promised they wouldn't call the police or anything at pact that I had to come home for my birthday. And Tom's parents... Well, he is 20 so they couldn't do much anyway.

"I'll see you soon." I closed the call and sighed looking out of the window. In anything goes wrong, I guess I had to say goodbye to my family.

"Are you feeling alright?" Tom asked holding my hand as the other was on the wheel. After two hours of driving we were almost home.

"I'm feeling nervous, scared and anxious. What about you?" He looked at me for a second and smiled softly.

"I just hope they will understand, otherwise we'll have just each other." I nodded agreeing with his speech. "But I'm sure they won't separate us."

"Yeah, sure." I smiled a little. Gosh, I was so worried I didn't even think about them separating us. I was used to Tom already, I couldn't imagine going on without him, even if that sounded cheesy and stupid. "Ok, that's the house." I sighed.

"I don't see anyone there?" He seemed worry and I started panicking too, my eyes focused on my house.

"Isn't that your parents' car?" I pointed out and he widened his eyes.

"Holy shit." He parked near my mom's car. "Are you ready?"

"Are you?" I asked back and he shook his head. "Well, fuck it."

"Fuck it." He smiled and got out of the car. I followed his lead and we walked towards the door hand in hand. "Everything is gonna be fine."

**
"No, we don't tolerate this behaviour! Leaving like that with... with him?" My mother yelled and I looked at the ground not daring to stare at her. "Are you out of your mind? This can infect your reputation and my career!"

"Your career!?" Tom's mother pointed at her. "We're talking about my son's life! What if something had happened to him?" She then turned and glared at him. "I don't care about what was going on, you just left and called once to tell me that you were ok and with an Osterfield." She shook her head. "I didn't raise you like that!"

"Well, it seems to me that you did." My father snapped and I rolled my eyes, Tom next to me sighed. "Your son brainwashed my daughter! She never acted like this before he started using her."

"Dad." I stopped him.

"Renata, do not respond." My mom look at me and then at my boyfriend. She snorted and turned to face his parents. "How much?" She asked with her bossy class, she looked almost like she was at a meeting and not at a family reunion.

"How much what?" Tom's father spoke out with his low voice, he seemed to be the most chill and calm between them.

"How much money do you want to cover up all this? 10.000 and we'll act like it never happened?" She put her hand in her pocket and took a pen ready to sing a cheque.

"Are you seriously trying to buy our silence and their relationship?" Dominic Holland raised an eyebrow and I know for sure that my mom was getting angry, mostly because she wasn't used to see people saying no to her. "I don't know why are you all mad, they're just kids. I don't blame you for what happened between our families and I know for sure that Tom doesn't get in a relationship with any girl he meets, that must mean that you're special." He smiled to us and I did the same as Tom held my hand.

My parents were speechless, they were looking at each other trying to understand what was going on, I could see a change in him but my mother was faster and started talking. "Yeah well, seems like you don't anyone by your side if not him." She crosses her arms on her chest, that pose meant victory.

"Sorry to interrupt." My brother, who was at the phone all this time, cut in. "I am by their side." He specified and mom glared at him. "I am because she's got my back all this time when I needed her help and I've seen her happier and even kinder since she started dating Tom. So yes, I don't care about family past." She shrugged.

"It was ages ago." I tried to change my mom's mind. "Why is it so bad if I just, you know, date him. It's time to move on."

"Or else, we'll be out of here in a second." Tom's voice was strong and sure of himself.

"Just promise me you won't do anything like that." My boyfriend's mother hugged him. "You scared me so much."

"He scared you? My daughter was only 17, a minor, you should thank me for not calling the police. God knows what happened to them." Mom shook her head. "Renata, you could have so much, you have to do the right choice."

"This is the right choice." I stared at her, begging her in my mind to let it go. "Why can't you see that I'm happy?"

"You can be happy even without him, just tell me what you need and I'll buy it for you." She was about to cry and I was speechless, everything she could think about and yet she went for the money to buy my happiness?

"What I want? I want to be loved. I don't care about your 50£ every month nor those expensive presents you send me every time you can't come see me." I shook my head. "This is not how it work anymore, I'm 18 and I can do what I want." She just started to cry and tried to go to my dad looking for compassion, but he rejected her and came closer to me.

He looked right in my eyes. "Is that what you want?" He asked and I nodded firmly, he smiled and passed his hand through my hair. "You got it, I won't stop you."

"Thank you dad." I smiled happily.

"You are all insane, I'm out of here." And so she did, Martha Osterfield rushed out of our house with anger and sadness.

We remained in silence for some minutes, then Dominic stood up from his chair and cleared his throat. "So, I've heard that today's someone's birthday." And just like that the anger that filled that room was gone, we were all smiling and talking about everything and nothing.

We decided to order some food and eventually we ended up playing at Monopoly all together. Tom's face was brighter than ever and I felt so relieved and yet I felt bad for my mom. But I was sure she would have accepted our relationship one day.

"I see you suck at monopoly." Tom laughed making fun of me since I just lost all my money.

"She's never been good with math." Harrison patted my shoulder and I rolled my eyes while they kept making fun of me and my bad playing.

Maybe I preferred them when they weren't talking.
