-Nick POV-

My alarm went off on my phone, startling me when I was sleeping. I groggily opened my eyes and checked my phone for any new messages. There was one from Judy, I read it. "after work I was thinking about going to the coffee shop, do you want to come with me?" I replied "sure thing! ;-)"... I didn't realize that it was so late! I jumped got out of bed, still being a little tired and quickly put on my ZPD uniform. I grabbed my phone, keys, and wallet and headed out the door. I went through the lobby and sped out the door, running to work.

I kept running, passing lots of other mammals going to do their daily jobs as well, until I was almost there, I was getting out of breath. I then stopped right before the entrance to walk in slowly, so it wouldn't look like I was in a rush. I walked in and Benjamin clawhouser was at the front desk, eating a doughnut as usual.

He waved to me "good morning nick! Nice to see you!" In an excited tone

I waved back and said "hey Ben!" I was still slightly panting...

I walked over to the front desk and we chatted for a minute. He told me all about the new gazelle album that just came out, (I have to admit, there were some pretty good songs) and also offered me a doughnut. I took a blueberry one, my favorite kind.

"It's getting kinda late, I better get to role call"

"ok" Ben said as I headed off.

I walked into the officer room and everyone was here, being loud as usual. Even Judy was here. I walked past everyone and hopped up beside her on the chair that we share (because they're made to seat an elephant) and she sighed at me.

"Nearly late again." As she turned her head towards me

"But I'm not late." I said with a smirk

"True, but nick you're like this every day you're going to be late one day and Bogo will give you parking duty for a month!"

"I've never been late" i told her sarcastically

She then playfully punched my arm and said "just be more careful ok? I don't want to lose my partner because he was 2 minutes late" she giggled and rolled her eyes.

"Ok, i swear I will never be late" i jokingly put my right paw in the air like I just surrendered. We both chuckled

Chief Bogo came in. "Listen up!" Everyone became quiet at this point. "There was a robbery last night in the zootopia art museum, we believe it was a raccoon, from the ZEO, the zootopia eleuth organization, the worst group of criminals teamed up in zootopia." We all sat in silence "Officers Delgato, McHorn, Wolford. Go to the museum to check out the case" he gave them a Manila folder with some information in it. "Fengmeyer, Grizzoli, Snarlof; Go to Sahara square"... "Hopps, Wilde; parking duty" we both frowned, no one in the ZPD liked having parking duty. We all walked out to do our jobs for the day.

"At least we don't have much going on today?" I said

"Yeah, but parking duty is so boring"

We took the cop car and I drove to one of the busiest shopping districts in Zootopia. When we arrived, it wasn't that crowded. It was a work day for most mammals.

"It's not even busy here, there's nothing going on" I parked by an intersection.

After a few moments of silence, "Umm.." I mumbled

"What?"

"Nothing.." it was all I managed to say. I was too scared to ask her if she liked me. It wasn't the time

"Ok."

"So what do you want to do?"

An instant after we heard a tiny bell, both of our ears perked up. It was a parking meter, the ticket expired.

"I'll be right back" Judy stated

"Ok"

She looked so adorable when she had her ZPD uniform on, heck, she looked adorable with any outfit on.

-Judy POV-

'Ugh, I hate parking duty' I thought to myself as I pulled on my ear. I was punching the numbers in the machine to make the mammal a ticket and slipped it in the windshield wiper of their car. I turned around to see nick right behind me. I ran into his stomach.

"Nick what the heck!" I exclaimed. I was confused on why he was standing there

He patted me between my ears "I was thinking on walking around to check around."

"Nick we are on parking duty" I got a little annoyed

"So? We can carry our machines and be on parking duty while we're walking"

"Fine" I sighed

We were walking all over, checking parking meters. We were only finding a few expired so we were just walking around and chatting. Sometimes I can rack up a couple hundred easy, but it just seems like there's not as much commotion today.

After a few minutes of silence while we were giving tickets, nick stopped.

"Heeeyyyyyyy Juuuuuudddyyyyyyy" he exclaimed in a sing-song tone.

"Yeah?"

He did his signature sly smile of his "Lets make a bet" he said.

I got interested, I'm really competitive "what kind of bet?"

"Whoever gets the most parking tickets today wins" he smirked

"Ok let's do it, you're on!"

Nick then yelled "GO" and sprinted as fast as he could to some parking meters over in the distance. He was racking them up pretty quickly, but I could do better. I ran to some parking meters way in the distance and started racking some up. I kept going strong, running from meter to meter that has expired.
...until...

*CRASH* my ears perked up, instantly after, i heard an alarm. I got concerned of what was going on so I looked around. *BOOM* a gunshot!? ...From the direction nick was... I started panting, I hope he's ok. I started running toward him and i saw it. A BANK ROBBERY. I picked up my walkie talkie while nick tried to stop the intruder.

"CLAWHOUSER WE HAVE A 211, ROBBERY AT ZOOTOPIA CENTRAL BANK, A MAMMAL 417  CALL FOR BACKUP"

Clawhouser instantly replied, "hold on Judy I'm calling for some right now!"

Nick was chasing after them, screaming for them to stop, he was running so fast that he was basically a blur, obviously nick was faster than the mammal because it was a... Raccoon? Bogo said this morning that a Racoon robbed the zootopia art museum.

Instant backup came over to us, it was Delgato and McHorn. They helped us get the criminal, but the raccoon was sneaky, he was hard to get. After an hour or so we found him, all of us cornered him in an alley. We arrested him for committing a felony, but there's still one problem. What about the rest of the ZEO?

-Nick POV-

"We caught the criminal, b-but didnt chief Bogo say a raccoon robbed the zootopia art museum?" I thought to myself, I felt stressed all of a sudden, like a weight just pounded onto my emotions. Officers Delgato and McHorn cuffed him and brought him to the ZPD while Judy and I wrote about the case in vivid detail, It took about 10 minutes to complete.

"Hey carrots, are you still up to going to the coffee shop with me?" I asked with my sly smile, trying to sound as calm as possible.

"Sure, why not. I don't have anything planned after work anyway"

"Ok... cool" I walked over to the police car and jumped into it.

"Cmon, lets go to the ZPD so we can be done for the day."

She replied "ok" and she happily jumped into the passenger seat. We drove to the ZPD where we would check out for the day. "Oh my gosh 6:23 pm?" I said

"Really? time went by fast."

We sat in silence for a second while I was driving then in the corner of my eye I saw her smirk.

"What?" I wondered

"I win!" She said cheerfully

"Ahh, you win nothing!" I said sarcastically. I instantly knew what she was talking about

"Yes I do! I win!" She said, her tone sounded she was slightly annoyed

"Uh huh, sure. How many tickets did you get today?"

She proudly spoke. "156"

"Yes, but you cheated" I smirked while I had my eyes half closed

"No I didn't, see!" She showed me her ticket machine with a 156 on it.

"Let me look closer" she gave it to me to see the digits. I pressed a few buttons and it reset to '0'. I chuckled, she didn't notice until I showed her. "see, I told you you didn't win"

"Hey!!" She punched my arm.

"Ouch! What are you trying to do break my ribs?" I said sarcastically and laughed while She giggled and rolled her eyes.

We arrived at the station in the police vehicle, ready to sign out and leave for the night. We walked in and clawhouser was at the front office, munching on a doughnut.

"Hey guys!" He said with his mouth half full,

"hey clawhouser" we said in unison, "were going to check out now" Judy said to him.

"Have a good night guys!" He replied back.

"Bye Benny!" I exclaimed in a sarcastic tone, He laughed.

We walked to the coffee shop, chatting as we were doing so. We arrived and there was a huge line all the way to the door.

"Hey carrots, do you want to skip the coffee shop?"

"Yeah, the line is way too long"

"Do you want me to walk home with you?"

She blushed, "no I'm good, thanks. I'll see you tomorrow nick!"

I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. An unknown number.
"Bye fluff..." I said quietly, looking at my phone

We both walked our separate ways to our apartments, it was getting late anyways. I unlocked my phone, a new message from an unknown number?
