CHAPTER ELEVEN

The warehouse was exactly as I remembered. I felt his power outside of the building, radiating of it like a revolting stench. I clenched my jaw as I remembered why I'm here. Jonathan has Jace. My brother. He already took my baby from me, there is no way I'm letting him take my brother too. I'd rather die. I looked at the building, my nose wrinkling in disgust. I honestly don't see the appeal of dirty, old and abandoned warehouses. It's filthy, smelly and quite frankly a health hazard. I checked my watch. 11:56 PM. With a deep breath, I walked to the door of the warehouse. With a loud squeak, it opened and I stepped into the building.

It was dark inside. Pitch black night. It seemed as if no one was here, but I knew better. I could feel him. I started to feel around for my brother's soul when suddenly the lights in the warehouse went on. Momentarily I was blinded and I brought my hands up to shield my eyes. I heard his sinister laugh.

"Well, well, well, you came after all." He spoke and I opened my eyes, seeing that a row of lights leading from me to him was on and the rest of the warehouse was still in darkness. He was standing a good few meters away from me. At least he had the sense to do that, if he was any closer, I might have strangled him with my bare hands. "And alone too, I see."

I nodded, walking closer it him. "Here I am, now where's my brother?"

"Why the haste? Don't you want to talk to me a little?" He asked, smiling in what I'm assuming was supposed to be a seductive smile. Pfft, as if. I gagged.

"I'd rather be sucked dry, but thanks." I smiled fakely. Then removed my smile. "My brother." I demanded, clenching my fists. I could do nothing to him if I don't have my brother. He rolled his eyes at me.

"Fine." He snapped his fingers and a dark spot behind him lit up. He walked behind my brother and place his hands on Jace's shoulders, the smile on his face fueling my anger even further. I moved my glare from him and inspected my brother as best I could from here. His whole body was full of cuts and bruises, his clothes torn and he was unconscious, but luckily not dead. I could feel his soul still in his body.

"What did you do to him?" I glared up at the psycho. The look of his face of that of a deranged man.

"I had some fun." He laughed in a high pitched voice. I clenched my jaw, my teeth grinding together.

"This is your idea of fun?" I asked with a scoff, appalled. "You're crazy." I took a step forward, ready to fight this manic, kill him and get my brother back.

"You want your brother back?" He asked, clearly mocking me. I clenched my fists. He snapped his fingers and the rest of the lights in the warehouse flickers on. I took a step back, an army of Shadowhunters revealed. There had to be at least a hundred, maybe two hundred half-angel, half-mundane beings in front of me. "Come and get him." He challenged. "You are powerful, Samara, I'll tell you that, but let's see how you do against an army. All alone."

"You lied to me." I accused, my eyes narrowing.

"No, I didn't." He gave me a sick grin. "I said you need to come alone, not that I'd be alone." He pointed out and I glared at him.

Before I could even respond or start to fight the army in front of me, an arrow soared past my head and into one of the males closest to me. The man dropped to the ground, dead. Relief filled me when I realized who was behind me. Who was having my back. "She's not alone, asshole, she's never alone." Alec's voice rang out loudly through the large building, I looked up, seeing him standing on a platform near the ceiling, bow and arrow in hand, looking oh-so-handsome.

Fury filled Jonathan's face. "You lied to me." He spat.

"No, I didn't." I mocked him, a smirk on my face. "You said I had to come alone and I did. You never said I couldn't be followed." His fury intensified at my smug words and he looked as if he'd pop a vein when he realised I had outsmarted him. I wish he'd pop a vein and die. I felt Magnus, Clary, Izzie, the New York Wolf Park, the New York Vampire Clan and Imogen Herondale - my new found grandmother, for those who forgot - standing behind me. The plan was for me to leave and for them to follow me as I went. The new leader, Raphael Santiago, owed me one for saving his life when I was sixteen and he was falsely accused of killing a mundane. He told everyone he didn't do it. No one listened, no one but me. I proved his innocence and killed the vampire who did when he tried to kill me. I didn't have any ties to the Alpha of the New York Wolf pack, but apparently Clary and her mother does. The red-head told me Jocelyn and Luke are getting married in a month.

I know my army is not as large as his, but we have experience on our side. We are able to work as a team. The Shadowhunters in front of me looked like they liked to see who could kick the other's ass more times.

"What are you waiting for?" Jonathan shouted. "Attack them." Then the army came running at us. My daggers appeared in my hands, courtesy of Magnus, and I started fighting. I drove my dagger into necks, hearts and abdomens, sliced necks and took of heads. One tried to take me out from behind, but my senses was almost as sharp as a wolf's. I spun around and punched the woman in the face before slicing opened her neck. She fell to her knees, blood sprouting from her neck like a river stream. I spotted a wolf in trouble, the poor boy couldn't be more than thirteen. Briefly I wondered why Luke would let a wolf so young fight. He was on his back, a man nearly two times his size on top of him.

I took of running to them, pushing one of my daggers into the neck of someone trying to stab me with a seraph blade. I kicked the man off the kid more violently than what was strictly necessary. I didn't care, he was going for a kid that clearly couldn't defend himself.

"Why don't you take on someone your own size?" I challenged with a smug look in my face. Clearly embarrassed that he was taken down by a girl, he stormed to me. I was ready for him. It didn't take long to take him out, he relied more on his strength than his skills. It was what got most of these Shadowhunters killed, that and thinking that they are a superior race. I then turned my attention to the kid.

"Go home." I ordered.

"No." He denied, shaking his head.

"Look kid, you got one of two choices, either you got home, or I kick your ass home. Either way, you are done fighting." I told him, my tone stern and my voice strong. I stared at him, unblinking. He stared back. After a few seconds he caved and nodded. Holding a hand to him, I pulled him up. As I walked him to the warehouse door, a few of Shadowhunters tried to unsuccessfully stop me as I led him to safety.

"Please, I have to do something." He pleaded just as I was about to walk inside. Stopping in my tracks with a sigh, I closed my eyes and pinched the bridge of my nose. I glanced at him over my shoulder.

"Fine." I agreed. His eyes lit up. "You stay out here and take out any of the Shadowhunters that wants to escape." The boy nodded excitedly. "But no coming inside and looking for a fight, okay?"

"I won't. I promise, Miss." He swore honestly.

"It's Misses." I couldn't help but correct him. "But call me Sam." His eyes lit up even further.

"I'm Aiden." He stated proudly. I smiled at him.

"Nice to meet you, Aiden." With that I ran back into the warehouse, throwing my knife in the head of a Shadowhunter that was about to slice through a vampire. The vampire turned out to be the Leader of the Clan himself.

"I'm always saving your ass, aren't I, Raphael?" I teased under my breath, knowing he could hear me. He threw me a mock glare. I turned away and looked for Jonathan. I spotted him, watching the fight with the excitement of a mad man. Time to end this all. I made my way to him, kicking whosever ass that tried stopping me. I even kicked a guy in his family jewels before striking him in the heart with one of my daggers.

"I was wondering when you would reach me." The crazy blonde said, taking out a knife and holding it to my brother's neck. Worry shot through me as I watched my immobilized and temporarily defenseless brother with concern.

"Let go of my brother, you monster." I snarled at him, glaring violently at him. He laughed that sinister laugh of his, inching the knife closer to my brother's neck. My worry increased.

"You know, you all keep going on about how much of a monster I am, but you forget, we are the same. So, if I'm a monster, so are you." He spat, tightening his grip on the knife, his knuckles turning white.

"No," I shook my head strongly. "No, I'm not. Valentine made us Reapers, he didn't make us monsters. You did that by yourself."

"He raised me."

"He raised me too, posing as Michael Wayland through my formative years. Look how I turned out." I retorted, eyeing the knife to my brother's neck as Jonathan's anger increased. Then something weird happened, he tilted his head to the side, almost as if listening for something. His eyes zeroed in on my stomach. He smirked at me. Pain and rage filled me, seeping through to my bones as images of what he did flashed through my brain.

"I didn't think you'd come here while pregnant. Not after what happened last time." He told me. I froze. Then I shook my head. He was lying, there is no way that I'm pregnant. I would have known, or suspected like last time. I'm not moody - okay maybe that's a lie, but I'm moody for good reason - throwing up or craving sardines with avocado. I kept the shiver of disgust away as I thought about that particular craving.

"You're lying."

"No, I'm not."

"Yes, you are. It's what you do. I would have known if I am pregnant."

"Deny it all you want, Samara, but I know what I know." He swore, but I still didn't believe him. He couldn't be right, could he? No, he is just lying and acting. I was sure of it. "Who knows, maybe after I killed your brother, I'll kill this baby to, just like I did with the other?" At the mention of my sweet baby girl, Angelica, that I never even got to hold, and him killing my brother, I lost it.

"NOOO!" I roared out, my hands shooting forward - palms out stretched - as I started to absorb his energy. I used the power I got from his energy and shoved him away from my brother. He tried to fight me, my grip faltered slightly, but I only pushed myself harder. I walked forward, lowering my hands and he fell to his knees in pain. He screamed bloody murder and tried to get out from under my grip, but I was stronger than him. A lot stronger.

"You took so much from me. From this world. Innocent souls. Now, you will never hurt anyone ever again." I swore, completely in control of myself and my Reaper side. Finally. The power was buzzing through my blood, but I was in control of it, instead of it controlling me. Clenching my fists tightly, I pulled out the last of Jonathan's energy. The life in his eyes died out, and he fell backwards. Dead. Forever gone and out of our lives for good.

As I calmed down, the noises of the fighting around me came back. I watched as the people I love fought the remaining Shadowhunters. Izzie with her whip, Alec with his bow and arrow - he came down and joined the fight on the ground at some point - Magnus with his blue colored magic, Clary with her Seraph blade. The werewolves and the vampires is fighting just as passionately. But they were getting tired, I could see it.

Deciding to use my new found control over my power for good, I formed a plan in my head. I stretched my hands out by my side, horizontally. My fists clenched. I closed my eyes, using my advanced Reaper hearing to find my husband's heartbeat and calmed myself, knowing that if I mess up, I could kill everyone in this warehouse, my family and friends included. I opened my eyes and concentrated on the turned-Shadowhunters. I opened my hands, and let go of all of the energy, obliterating the souls of Shadowhunters whose loyalty is with Jonathan.
