The Royal Family's Reaction to the Disappearance of Percy and Annabeth

"Officer Nakamura!" Sally called, gesturing for one of the guards to come over. She looked around the safe room a little panicked. All of the Selected girls were back, minus Annabeth, and Percy hadn't come either. Maybe they had taken a different route? Snuck into another safe room? Lying dead on the floor? She shook those thoughts out of her head. They were smart kids, even though sometimes it seemed like Percy didn't have any brains, they would be okay. They had to be.

"Yes, your majesty?" The guard stood in front of her, his black eye patch covering one of his brown eyes.

"Are you able to track down Annabeth and Percy for me?" She put my hand on his shoulder. "Can you bring them back as soon as possible?"

And emotion rippled across his face but it was gone so quickly Sally thought she had imagined it. "Of course, I'll be back." He left without another word, but before he turned away from her, he already had a smirk on his face. Panic shot her in the heart but before she could call after him Paul had gotten her attention.

Sally paced in front of the locked doors of the safe room, her hands rubbing up and down her arms. "Sally, dear," Paul gripped her shoulders, smiling sympathetically. "Please lie down, you need rest."

Sally shrugged of her husbands arms. "No way. Sorry, honey."

"But-"

Sally glared at Paul. "Not while my children are out there." The people she had had in her life for nearly 18 years had gone AWOL, and none one knew where they were. She wasn't going to rest, and even if she did she wouldn't be able to because her brain would be thinking a mile a minute. She most defiantly would not rest.

Paul sighed, kissed her on the cheek and went to check on Zoe who was starting to stir.

"The palace is safe." A guard nodded their confirmation towards Sally and Paul.

Paul sighed. "Any news?" He wrapped an arm around Sally's waist, pulling her closer to him. She was forever thankful for the man she had found, and wouldn't trade him for the world. He was comforting her even thought he didn't know, in just being there.

"We're searching every known safe room, your majesty."

"No," Sally shook her head, not happy enough with the effort that was being put into finding her son and his best friend. "Search every single room in this place. Turn over tables if you have to."

The guard nodded their understanding, barked an order to another guard stationed at the door and the both of them left the room.

"Mummy?" Zoe tugged on the bottom of Sally's dress. "Where's Blue and Bethy?"

Sally smiled sadly at Zoe, her innocence shining in her wide eyes. Bending down, Sally picked Zoe up to rest on her hip. "I don't know Zoe, but we'll find them," Sally followed Paul and Tyson out of the safe room. "We will find them."

The guards worked hard on turning over tables and looking in every room of the palace over night. Annabeth's room was exactly as she left it, her maids having no idea where she could be. Percy hadn't left anything behind and there was no trace of him. It seemed like they had fallen off a cliff and weren't coming back.

"No sign of them, your majesty."

"No sign?" Sally gripped Paul's hand, fear mounting upon the panic and stress she was already feeling. "Nothing?"

The guard shifted uncomfortably under the piercing gaze of the Queen. "Well, we did spot some blood patches in a room but we put that down to an injured Rebel or guard."

"What was the room like?" Paul asked.

"Uh, there was a broken chair, blood on the walls-"

"I'm sorry to interrupt, your majesties, but we've just got something!" Another guard came bursting into the room. Sally was glad to see that is was Jason in his casual clothes, puffing slightly from running here to deliver a message of some sort. Even from the distance she was standing at, she could see the alarm in his eyes, at the prospect of two of his closets friends missing.

"What is it, Jason?" Sally rushed forward, Paul following close behind.

"A maid said she saw Ethan Nakamura and Perce talking." Jason gestured for them to follow. "She said that she turned her head the other way and looked back. She couldn't see either of them."

"Any news on-" They walked down the hallway together.

"Annabeth? Sorry Sally, none. But her friend who is also a guard is missing as well. Luke Castellan."

"Have we found Ethan?" Paul asks as they quickly walked down the steps, following Jason.

"No," Jason turned around on the last step. "But Ethan and Luke were friends."

Sally closed her eyes, leaning on Paul's side. "You don't think?"

Sally couldn't describe how panicked she was. She was so stressed she hadn't eaten since dinner last night. She didn't sleep either, actually wandering the palace herself and re-checking everything the guards had been through. Her babies weren't safe, she could feel it in her gut. She missed them both dearly and wanted them back in her arms as soon as possible, but she was now fearing the worse. Which she had not prepared for. Sally had no idea if they were still breathing, still in the country. They were most defiantly not in the palace, and they wouldn't run away again. Last time it was sort of expected that Annabeth would leave and Percy would follow. But weren't they happy now, finally in a relationship together? Did they feel pressured or was there something she was missing? She had promised Athena, Annabeth's mother, in her last days that she would look after Annabeth as her own, that Annabeth would always be apart of the family. She had failed her promise. Even her own son was gone, no more sarcastic remarks or belly hurting laughs with him.

"We're defiantly thinking it." Jason responded sadly. "But hey," He put a reassuring hand on her upper arm. "We both know them. They will survive what ever this is. An knowing Percy, he's probably taken a wrong turn and they've both ended up in the forest."

They chuckled, but the chuckle soon died as they thought of the prospect that two of their own had betrayed them and taken two loved ones.

Letter between Frazel; the time of Grover and Franks Birthday

Frank is the New Asian Prince. He's just received a letter from his friend Hazel who lives in Illèa.

Hi Frank,

I'm writing to you to wish you a very happy birthday. I hope you've had a fun day with your family, and I've enclosed a little present for you. Chinese handcuffs. I'm not going to tell you how to get out of them, because that would be cheating! You're smart enough, you'll figure it out.

Frank blushed as he read Hazels neat cursive hand writing. He though of her golden irises and blushed even more, hoping to see her very soon. He had been waiting for her letter to arrive, and even though they could talk on the phone, Hazel had this weird thing for old fashion ways. It was one of the quirks that Frank loved about her.

I feel like we haven't seen each other in ages, when only it's been 5 months, 22 days and 16 hours. Time really does go slow when your not around.

Was it possible for his face to become more red? He shifted around in his seat, very bashful with the fact that she thought this much about him. He did the same, so he was extremely delighted that she cared for him as much as he cared for her.

Have you heard the news about Annabeth and Percy? Hopefully a Royal wedding will be soon and you can come and visit. Just imagine it though, it would be so good to finally see them together!

Frank let out a low chuckle. Of course she would be excited about their friends, he was too when he heard the news. He could imagine flying to Illèa for the wedding, seeing Hazel out of the corner of his eyes. He would blush as he looked at her, his breath taken away from her radiating beauty. She would be wearing her hair down, in all its glory, and a dress to make her eyes and skin pop. She would be wearing heels too, making it so he could comfortably put his chin on the top of her head. When they greeted each other without her wearing heels, he had to bend down lower into a more awkward position, but she was happy, and so he was happy. Maybe they would dance all night, eat and laugh. He would really like that.

How is your family going? Last time we talked your grandmother was unwell, I hope that she is much better.

Franks mood slightly deflated. His grandmother had been unwell, and was not getting better. It seemed that she was in her last weeks, so he had been spending as much time with her as he could "But Fai," She would say. "You're going to run this great country one day, you must be present at all meetings." But he would just shake his head, smiling sadly at her and continue talking to her as he sat in the chair next to her on the bed.

Nothing much has been happening in my world, apart from the Percabeth feels.

Frank had also caught wind that Hazel was one of Annabeth's maids, which meant that she was in the perfect position to get gossip and details of everything that went down with Annabeth and Percy. Frank's smile brightened knowing that Hazel would enjoy that very much.

I really do miss you Chinese Canadian baby man.

Franks face heated up like a fire, and he was worried that he would need to get a bucket of water. He didn't like that nickname much, isn't that the point of nicknames?, but he forgot about that part and focused on the missing him part. He really did have feelings for her, even though she was miles away, in another country. But he couldn't help himself. Especially with such a bubbly, beautiful and kind person such as Hazel. He often wondered why the whole population of males weren't chasing after her, but then again he was secretly glad that he was the only one. That meant that there was a better chance of him getting to kiss her.

Talk soon
With all my love,
Hazel

Well wasn't that cute? Frazel!!!!

Tratie Meeting For The First Time; Around the start of the Selection.

Katie brushed her hands along her silky pale green dress, closing her eyes and tilting her head back. She let out a sigh as she soaked in the blissful sun. Her peace was short lived for she heard a twig snap to her right. Her eyes shot open as she whipped her head around to the side, scared that it was a Rebel. Yesterday they had had the Selections first attack whilst being at the palace, and it had scared the daisy's out of her.

But she didn't need to worry, as it was just a boy. She squinted into the sun to get a better look at him. His was tall, with lanky arms and legs. He wore a ripped up orange shirt, skin showing that may have caused a tiny blush to creep up the back of her neck. As he came closer she noticed his elvish features and the mop of curly brown hair that hung in his twinkling blue eyes.

He finally noticed her when he was basically standing in front of her. He stood up straight and gave her a crooked grin that she guest matched his crooked personality. "Hello Katie Gardner."

"Uh, hello?" She asked standing up. "May I help you?"

He shook his head, his hair flopping around. "Nah, nah. I'm good."

"Are you a guard or something?" She asked nervously, wondering why a boy was wandering around the palace ground unnoticed.

He shrugged, pushing the hair back from his face. His blue eyes glinted with cheekiness. "No, I'm just a merchant from the town."

Katie raised her eyebrows "And you like to sneak into the palace to have day strolls through the garden?"

"Yes and No. I snuck into the palace yes, but I don't come in here for the daytime strolls" He looked around grinning as Katie put her hand on her hip, slightly annoyed at the boy for not giving her any useful information. Was he an idiot?

"Then why are you here?" She asked, impatience seeping into her voice.

"One, for the food, two for-" The boy started to speak but he was cut off by another male voice.

"Hey!" Percy walked over much to Katie's relief. He was starting to get on her nerves.

"Good! Percy! This guys just admitted that he sneaks into the palace for the food!" She pointed at the trouble maker.

Hurt rippled across Percy's face as he turned to the other guy. He put his hand on his heart. "You sneak in for the food?"

"Well, one it's amazing," The man replied. "Two, the guards at the gate won't let me in."

"Of course they won't!" Katie exclaimed glaring at the boy. "You're not allowed in!"

"Wait, I thought I told them that you could come in." Percy ignored Katie's outburst and continued talking to the boy with untamed hair.

"I know you did, but newbies, mate, newbies" He patted Percy of the shoulder, shrugging slightly. Katie was extremely confused.

"Ok, I'll put you up on the notice board," Percy responded. His attention turned to Katie. "Are you okay Katie?"

Katie didn't understand what was happening. "Um, what's going on here?" She gestured between the two boys.

"Oh, this is a close friend of mine, Travis Stoll. Trav, I'm sure you already know Katie." Percy finally gave her the boys name. Travis Stoll.

"Yes, she's already yelled at me for sneaking into here." Travis smirked in Katie's direction.

"Well you can't blame her. A sketchy guys just strolling through the place of the gardens with dirty ripped clothes on. What happened to your clothes?"

"Trying to run away from a disaster prank. Had to run through the woods." Katie's suspicions were confirmed after Travis said the word prank. He was defiantly a trouble maker.

Percy gestured to the direction of the palace with a nod. "Come on, let me get you some clothes."

"And food?" Travis asked hopeful.

"And food," Percy gave her a little wave. "Bye Katie"

"Uh, Bye Percy" Katie muttered.

Travis did something that shocked her, he stepped forward and engulfed Katie into a hug. She was slightly surprised and stumbled back a bit, but wrapped her arms around his torso. A deep red blush crept up her neck as she thought about how she liked the way his arms felt around her shoulders. Katie, she scolded herself, you're here for Percy, not for some free loader that's going to land himself in jail.

Travis patted Katie hard on the back before he pulled back from the hug. He smirked at her. "Bye Kit-Kat."

Katie's face scrunched together in confusion at the hug and the sudden nickname. "Bye Travis."

Percy raised his eyebrows at the situation but didn't comment, walking away with Travis, probably talking about food.

Katie's maids burst into laughter as soon as she turned her back on them.

"Oh," Casey covered her mouth with her hand. "Oh, that is just too hilarious."

"What?" Katie spun around in a circle trying to see what was on her back. "What's so funny?"

Michaela pointed toward the bathroom door, wiping tears from under her eyes. "Go check, miss."

Katie, very confused, went into her bathroom and craned her neck awkwardly to see what was on her back.

There, in a bright red pen, scrawled in messy writing on a crumbled piece of paper, were the words: Kick Me

Oh, he was definitely a trouble maker.

"TRAVIS!" Katie screamed at the top of her lungs.

Luke's Final Decision; Before The Selection Starts

"Luke!"

"Thalia!"

"Luke!"

"Thalia!"

"Luke, for Zeus' sake, come out for a second!"

Luke groaned, putting the sword he was sharpening down on the small wooden table in his hut. He got up from his sitting position and and went outside, to find Thalia standing there, a smirk plastered on her face.

"What?" He spat, annoyed that he was interrupted.

"What?" She imitated him. "I'm sorry for separating you from your precious alone time with Backbiter, but I do have some important news."

Luke sighed sitting down on a log. "And what is it?"

Thalia sat down on the log opposite him, handing him a white envelope. "Read it," She gestured for him to read it. "It's the Selection forms."

Luke raised his eyebrows but read the form. "You really want to do this?" He asked, kind of sceptical.

Thalia shrugged, sliding her bow over her shoulder and placing it on the ground. "If I get chosen, I get food and a place to live. You're moving there anyway so why not? I mean, lets face it," Thalia gestured to herself. "I ain't no princess, and I won't be no princess."

Luke gave her a half smile. "You've got that right."

"Are you alright?" Thalia changed the subject. "This morning you seemed off."

Luke shrugged. "I'm fine," He lied. "Bad night sleep I guess."

Thalia stared at him. "You've been having some bad sleeps lately. Are you sure everything's okay?"

Luke nodded. "Of course everything is okay. Why wouldn't it be?"

"Are you positive?" She asked again getting on his nerves.

"Yes!" Luke snapped, standing up. "Everything's fine Thalia! Leave it." He handed her the form and stalked off into the forest.

"Luke!" Thalia called after him but he ignored her and continued walking.

He stopped after walking for five minutes, resting his forehead on a tree trunk as he closed his eyes. His hands gripped his hair in a desperate attempt to pull it out.

The nightmares. The nightmares had been exhausting and terrifying.

"They've forgotten about you..."

"They don't care... They never have... They never will..."

"It's time to end this madness Luke, join me... We can rule the world together..."

"She doesn't care about you... She doesn't think about you... She doesn't love you..."

Luke screamed, banging his fist against the tree bark repeatedly. "No!" He yelled at no one. "No!" He was so angry that the world was like this. So unfair.

He slid down the tree, resting his back against, hanging his head, defeated. The mans voice rang out in his head from a week earlier when he had approached Luke when Luke went shopping. He had told Luke his plan and trusted that he would join him. He nearly agreed with all the mans statements, apart from the one about her forgetting him. She hasn't. Annabeth hasn't.

Doubt filled his stomach as Luke thought about the mans proposal. It was simple, it was quick. It would be hard, but it was for the greater good of the lower castes. Of the people that have been mistreated, forgotten, left to rot by themselves.

Luke looked up at the star filled sky, a cruel, twisted smirk forming on his face. "Let's tear down Olympus."

Piper Getting Lost; Around the Start of the Selection

"Gods dam it," Piper stopped walking and looked up at the ceiling. "Why?"

She looked back down to her surroundings and groaned as it looked like every other hallway she had ever encountered in this massive labyrinth. The floor was the same tiles, the walls the same yellowish sandstone blocks. The windows had the same curtains hung above them and the natural light let in looked the same. The only difference that she could hardly spot was the paintings and plants scattered around.

Piper walked up to the large painting displayed on her left. It was painted out of acrylic paints, fine brush strokes creating a picture of a battle. She grinned at the men with spears and swords charging at each other, mouths open in a charge shout. They wore protective clothing and looked ready to fight. But she grimaced once she spotted that the other army were riding on horses and she was thankful that the artist didn't paint the moment when the two sides clashed, as she was sure she would see some hurt inflicted on the horses.

"Do you like it?" A voice asked from behind her. "Painted by Theodore Whimchester, in 1884, about the Battle of Hammington. Around 5,000 men were killed in that battle but it won the freedom of the Hammington people."*

Piper turned around impressed to see Jason, Annabeth's friend, standing behind her in his guard uniform, his hands behind his back.

He smiled at her as she whistled. "Have you memorised the history of all the artwork in this building?"

Jason shrugged, still smiling. "I may have done that when I was around 15, but it hasn't come in handy until now."

"Oh," She pouted at him. "Has no one asked you the history of each piece of art in this massive place before?"

"No," Jason cocked his head to the side. "Unfortunately not. Are you okay Lady Piper?"

Piper gestured around her. "Just looking at art." She failed at her lie.

"May I ask what you are doing of the fourth floor?"

"The fourth-" Piper stopped. "I'm here because I was told there was art."

"Are you lost?" Jason asked, his lips creeping back into a smile, the scar on his lip becoming for prominent.

"I may have wandered a little to far and gone up two flights of stairs by accident?" Piper finished what was meant to be a statement as a question.

Jason chuckled. "I don't really understand how you got up here, but I can show you to your room if you like?"

Piper nodded appreciatively. "That would be great, Sparky."

Jason groaned as they started to walk in what Piper guessed was the right direction. "I can't believe Annabeth told you my nickname. Now you're not going to stop calling me that, aren't you Pipes?"

Piper blushed at the nickname he had given her. She had never really liked the nickname Pipes, always threatening the people who called her that. But the way it sounded off of Jason tongue made her like it.

"Sorry Sparky," She laughed. "It's here to stay!"

Caleo Talk; The Night After Leo Sets Calypso's Dress On Fire

Calypso was just about to turn off her lights and fall asleep when there was a very loud knock on the door.

Groaning slightly, she shuffled over to the door and opened it.

"Yes?" She asked impatient.

"Hi, Sunshine." Calypso looked at the scrawny elf that had set her dress on fire today.

She tried to slam the door shut in his face but he held out his hand and stopped it. "Woah, Sunshine. Hold your horses."

Calypso grumbled something underneath her breath and glared at the boy. "What is it that you want?"

"I came here to apologise," He held out his hand. "My name is Leo by the way. But most people know me as the Super-sized McShizzle."

Calypso relucntlt shook his hand, which went back to his side and started fidgeting with his shorts. "I'm not calling you that, and don't call me Sunshine."

"Aw come one," Leo grinned. "It suits you Sunshine."

"Back to the point Leo."

"Right." Leo nodded. "I just wanted to apologise for the whole fire thing, ruining your dress and endangering your life."

Calypso sighed, bringing her braid over her shoulder and playing with the ends. "Thank you, Leo"

"And," He pulled something out from behind his back, which he was holding the whole time with his other hand. It was a large rolled up piece of fabric.

"What's this?" She took it in her hands and felt the thick texture of the material.

"Fire proof material. It won't catch on fire."

"And why would my dress catch on fire for a second time?"

"I'm known to set things on fire." Leo winked and strolled away down the hallway, whistling a tune.
