~Chapter 1~
Subaru had left his home and had gone to one of his favourite places to be alone. He usually came to this hidden off garden whenever he had problems with his mother, which is what happened today.
He always told her that he'd never leave her alone, but she still lashed out at him and called him a filthy liar.
He didn't know what to do about her anymore. He just needed to be alone right then, he didn't care how much she freaked out about him being gone so long.
Subaru sighed as he walked past all the beautiful white roses. Just then, a figure of a girl that looked to be around his age came into his sight.
His red eyes widened slightly as he approached the girl who was knelt by one of the rose bushes. He didn't think that anyone else even knew about this garden.
The girl looked up at him with her dark brown eyes when he approached her. She then stood up and smiled at him. Seeing her smile, surprised Subaru even more.
"Hi there!" She said, cheerfully "My name is Celeste. What's yours?"
----------------------------------------------------------Present Day------------------------------------------------
Subaru sighed, as he sat by a window and looked out at the night sky. It was times like these when he felt the most alone, though he always tried not to show it towards his family.
It had been such a long time since he'd last seen the only friend he'd ever had. The only person who could make him truly happy and not feel so alone in this cruel world.
Only two years after meeting her, Celeste had come to the secret garden they always met each other in with tear stained eyes.
When he'd asked her what the matter was, she began crying again and told him the terrible news she had received earlier that day.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Subaru had been waiting in the hidden garden for Celeste to show up for a while now. He'd had another bad incident with his mother and had needed to get away fast.
He soon noticed Celeste approaching up and he stood up to greet her. That was when he noticed her tear stained eyes, like she had been crying recently.
"What's wrong, Celeste?" He asked her, clearly worried "Did something happen?"
Celeste immediately began to cry again as she threw her arms around him, hugging him tightly "I have bad news, Subaru"
"What?" Subaru asked, hugging her back "What is it?"
"My father died and now my mother says we have to move back to the Demon World again" Celeste told him, still sobbing
Subaru's own eyes began to fill with tears "No! You can't leave, Celeste! I need you!"
"I don't want to leave you, Subaru!" Celeste cried "I have no choice though. This is the last time I'll be able to meet you here"
Subaru began to cry as he hugged her tightly. He never wanted to let her go. He wished that she didn't have to leave.
–---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Subaru sighed again and got up from where he was sitting. He decided to leave the mansion and go out on his own for a little while.
He didn't know what his brothers were doing and he knew they wouldn't even notice or care that he was gone. He didn't plan on being out for too long though as he knew his younger sister would be wondering where he was.
Subaru left the mansion and began to walk to that one place again.
Ever since Celeste left him, he has never been the same. He had felt so alone and had many more incidents with his mother until it came to the point where she forced him to kill her.
Why did Celeste ever had to leave him like that? It wasn't fair. She was the only friend he'd ever had and now he would never see her again.
He had lost all hope of ever seeing his childhood friend again. It was clear that she was never coming back. She probably didn't even remember him. She probably forgot all about him.
Still, he kept coming to that hidden garden they met in as kids. It reminded him of her and sometimes he hoped that maybe she'd one day turn up again.
Subaru shoved his hands into his pockets as he walked through the beautiful garden that had once brought him great happiness.
Now, it only reminded him that he was completely alone forever. The only person who's ever wanted to be his friend was gone now.
Subaru had been keeping his dull eyes trained on the ground as he walked. He sighed and decided to look up.
His eyes widened in shock when he saw the sight in front of him. He couldn't believe it and thought that he was imagining it at first.
But the longer he stayed, the beautiful girl with the long grey hair and pale white skin stayed standing there looking at the white roses.
"Celeste?"
The girl looked at him with shock evident in her dark brown eyes. After a minute, she smiled that same smile that she had given him the day they'd first met.
"Subaru, fancy meeting you here again" she said, giggling slightly.
