was dying always this painful?

as white light exploded in his vision, and the ground came to meet his elbow, all park jimin could do was try to stay absolutely still because attempting to move might result in another broken bone. 

but then again, he had wanted to die. hadn't he?

when his senses started to fade, numbness took over. the momentum of getting knocked caused him to roll across the rough surface of the bumpy road, with jimin wanting to groan in pain with every turn. but everything happened so fast — the screeching of car tyres, slamming of car doors, someone shouting.

instead of focusing on the pain, jimin paid attention to the sky. the nightsky that hung above him, resembling his makeshift galaxy ceiling when he was a child. the misty clouds that gathered to hide the moon, and a single star that flickers brightly among the clouds. 

such a lonely star, he thought, idly.

with that, jimin continued to roll down the...

... hill?

it was no longer night. he was then lying on a patch of soft grass, open wounds stinging madly from the tips of the grass. above him was a sun that cast shadows of trees all over him, the brightness of it all causing him to squint. 

he wanted to get up so badly, or to even crane his neck to see what's happening. but with the wounds bleeding freely, and a possibly very large gash on his scalp, jimin felt incredibly dizzy.

it didn't take him long to give in to the darkness.
