Birthday pt 2

What is up Mi Pokemans? I am back with another chapter! Listen, I know that Birthday pt 1 was not the best thing I have ever written, but I was almost passed out when I wrote it, but I am back, better and much more energized (I fell asleep watching Youtube). Anyway, enjoy!

Asriel loaded into the car as his brother did, letting him take the front seat to the bakery. Since his mom was on the phone while she drove (paws free, on speaker), Asriel put in a pair of head phones to block out her conversation with her sister. Selecting a song, at random, he was shocked when he heard it play.

I am tired of the same old story,

How lovers fail because it is written in the stars.

The fading family plot is starting to bore me,

I was thinking,

'Maybe we could show them who we are'

Asriel just sighed while he listened to the music; he instantly knew that Brittney had put it on his phone, just like he did for her for another song he recommended. Putting the song on loop, Asriel turned off his phone's screen as his mother drove, letting his mind lose itself to the music, a dream like vision unfolding in his mind.

"Asriel!" a voice said, making the Lucario turn around to see Brittney running to him, a smile on her face as he caught her in his arms. "You look beautiful," Asriel said, looking at her simple dress. "Thank you Asriel; you don't look bad yourself," Brittney replied, evaluating his travel clothes with a kind eye. "How is your father?" Asriel asked as they began to walk up the cobblestone street to the market place. "He is fine, just a little mad at my tutors," Brittney replied before explaining that, since she was studying magic, there is always the risk of a back fire and one such back fire had almost hit her. "I am sure that Master Lerisa will be fired because of it," Brittney sighed; Asriel knew that Brittney liked the Riolu magician. "Don't worry; I am sure he will be fine," Asriel replied.

"How is your novel going? I keep re-reading all you have given me so far; the family plot is starting to bore me," Brittney asked as they let a carriage pass. "Good so far; I think William is starting to like me now," Asriel replied, naming his Master for the art of writing. "How much more have you written?" Brittney asked. Asriel smiled before replying. "I am almost done. Master William says that, when I am complete with my work, he will take it to the writers guild to have it published if they like it," Asriel replied, getting Brittney to squeal in delight. "I can't wait to hear it! When they publish it, I will be sure to buy a copy for my father," Brittney told him as they reached the market place, the smell of baked goods drawing them to the baker's shop.

"Hey Asriel!" Lesira called, getting Asriel out of his thoughts for him to see they were at the shop. "Come on; Mom is getting us doughnuts," Lesira told him before he got out of the car, Asriel soon following him. As Asriel entered the shop with his family, he saw Brittney behind the counter, helping a customer package their cupcakes. "Have a nice day!" Brittney told the Nidoqueen before she left, leaving the counter for Asriel and his family to take her place. "Oh, hello; welcome to Mystic Baking! How may I help you?" Brittney asked Lisa, giving a small nod of respect to the Lucario. "Yes, I am here to pick up two cakes under Lisa," Asriel's mom said, getting Brittney to nod again. "Alright; the cakes are currently cooling and should be done in ten minutes or so. Is there anything else I can help you with?" Brittney asked with her paws over the cash register's touch screen. "Sure; five zebra doughnuts please," Lisa said, getting Brittney to nod again as she entered in her order.

"Anything else?" Brittney asked. "No, thank you; can I pay for the cakes now?" Lisa asked as she took out her purse. "Sure," Brittney said, getting her total up before Lisa paid for it. "Oh, hey there Asriel! Happy Birthday! You too Leirsa!" Sarah said as she walked from the back, smiling at the family as she left the back. "Hey Sarah; busy today?" Lisa asked. "Nah; just a few customers here and there, waiting for the lunch rush," Sarah said as she put in fresh muffins, placing a few in Lisa's order. "Thank you," Lisa said as Brittney gave her the box. "Not a problem. Hey, I was wondering, do you have a job Asriel?" Sarah asked the younger Lucario. "No ma'am; I plan on getting one starting in the summer though," Asriel replied.

"How would you like to work here? I could use another cashier," Sarah offered, retrieving an application from below the counter. "Yes ma'am; thank you," Asriel said, taking the paper and pin from her before following his family to a table, smiling as he took a seat at one of the tables. With his mom's help, Asriel filled out the basic application, giving it back to Sarah when she called them for the cakes. "Alright; I want you to come back tomorrow at five. Is that okay?" Sarah asked Asriel. "Yes ma'am," Asriel replied as Brittney bagged the cakes. "Did you read the perks of getting the job?" Sarah asked suddenly, catching Asriel off guard. "No ma'am; I did not see them on the application," Asriel replied. "Because they were not on there. You will get health insurance if any accident were to happen, options for a raise after every six months of working, and a company car," Sarah explained, getting Lisa's attention. "A company car? I thought this was the only Mystic Baking," Lisa said, sounding incredulous. "No; I have at ten here in Kalos, another ten in Unova, three in Hoenn, and am expanding to Kanto soon," Sarah explained with a laugh.

After a while more of talking, Asriel left the store with his mom talking to him about the job, Brittney following them. "If you get hired,  you will have to be responsible for your schedule and getting to work on time. Speaking of which, if you do get hired, we will have to get you your license," Lisa said thoughtfully as she started the car.

The rest of the day was spent with family and friends, both brothers having a great time at their party. Leirsa had invited a Zorua to the party and from what Asriel could tell, he had a crush on Zara. When it came down to presents, Asriel and Leirsa just accepted each one with gratitude and great thanks, though Asriel started to read one of the books he got from his mom almost as soon as he opened it. Since his dad was busy at work, he was unable to make it for their party, though he did send several texts wishing him a happy birthday.

All in all, it was a good day for the twins.

Well, that wraps up part two of Birthday! And yes, I went there! I have partnered up Leirsa, a Riolu, with Zara the Zorua! I have a feeling a bunch of you will think I am getting cheesy, but can you all really decline the extream cuteness of a Riolu and Zorua? I thought so.

Stay reading! Peace out mi Pokemans!
