Riley felt so cold. His wrists were wrapped in freezing metal and his chest had been exposed with a contraption hugging his body. As he recovered from unconsciousness, he heard distant voices. His head pounded with pain and his throat ached with dryness. He wobbled his head, blinking while the room he was in became clear.

The voices were familiar to him, but he couldn't quite figure out who they were.

"Riley, are you awake?" a girl asked nervously.

"He's awake, give him some time."

"Fiona?" Riley whispered breathlessly, he had zero energy to even lift a finger and his body felt like it was on a constant run.

"Riley, I'm here, are you okay?" his sister replied.

"I . . . I don't know. Are we dead?"

"No, the Morseeker didn't kill us. It captured us, we're in the tower. I don't know how the demons have a guardian working with them, but it has to be something seriously bad."

The room was spinning, but Riley was trying to fight it. The sickness he felt wasn't natural, it was attacking every inch inside of him, someone had done something to him.

"Wh-why aren't we dead?" Riley asked.

"I think they're waiting for our powers to run out so they can use it against us. If we're weak and powerless then they can kill us," Pearl replied.

"They're gonna be waiting along time, and that's part of our torture," said Fiona.

"Where's Hart?"

"He's in front of me," Pearl said. "I don't think he's alive, though. He hasn't moved, spoken or opened his eyes since we were put here."

What is here, Riley thought. He knew what the outside of the tower looked like and only heard stories of what went on inside. He meant to speak his thoughts but his body was too weak. He used what little energy he had to turn his head and inspect the room. It was empty and dark, very dark, with only two torches on one wall, leaving the other side without light.

There was a large cylinder type of structure in the middle of the room with a couple of seats attached around it. They all occupied each seat, as far as he could tell. He couldn't see if there were other people on the dark side of the cylinder.

"He's not dead," Riley forced out even though his body screamed at him to stop fighting and just close his eyes and sleep.

"Right, his sister, Seraphina. I don't understand how they work."

"There's only one thing that can kill them," Riley said softly."It's a dagger, but you have to kill them both. If you kill only one, they will return from the dead again."

"How long do you think until Hart comes back?"

"He's paralyzed, not dead. Judging by the difference of our time, Seraphina should already be alive. That means Hart could wake up anytime, and when he does he will get us out of here. I just hope that he doesn't lose control."

"Lose control?"

Memories of the time when Hart was a monster the size of a house came to his mind. That was the first and last time Riley had been afraid of him. He had been afraid of what he was becoming and that there would be no turning back. Hart had lost all control of himself and Riley didn't want to see that happen again. Seraphina told him that when he killed Hart, she was losing herself. The connection between her and Hart was special and probably one of the most intriguing things to exist in this universe. It wasn't anything close to being simple and easy to understand, it was out of this world. They were one, and without each other, they were nothing.

"Yes, we need to avoid what happened on Earth, we can't repeat. If Hart wakes up and somehow I am unconscious again, you guys have to make sure he keeps his head clear and know that we care about him and mean no harm to him. He'll be confused for a little while, but he should be okay."

"Riley." His heart raced, but it wasn't the voice he was expecting to hear.

"Daniel? Guys?" Riley said, hoping one of the two girls would explain why they hadn't told him Daniel was in the same room.

"Sorry, forgot he was there. He was already unconscious when we woke up, and on the other side of this thing," Pearl replied, moving roughly on her chair, causing her cuffs to rattle against the ground.

"I missed your voice. I thought . . . I was never going to hear it again."

"Are you okay?"

"No."

Riley felt embarrassed. How could any of them be okay in this situation? He knew Hart should have woken up a long time ago, but something was wrong. Something was very wrong, especially when he put it into consideration that they were all still in one piece, and alone. Demons weren't known to just let their prisoners be without having a little fun.

In his first few years in hell, Riley had to learn a lot. He remembered one of his very first missions was to get captured on purpose. Since witches have trouble using magic in hell, because their powers are occupied while it converts them into demons, they weren't expecting Riley to blow them all up. He wished he could do that now. He had already tried to use them, but that was a waste of time. He wasn't going to do anything while he was weak.

"Ri, where are you?" Daniel muttered.

"In front of the light, opposite of you." Riley could tell from the sound of his voice, Daniel was alone in the darkness.

"I'm going to be really mad if I don't get to at least see you before I die."

"Shut up," Pearl snapped. "You're our leader, why are you acting like such a little bitch? No one is going to die as long as we stick together and use our brains instead of sitting on our asses thinking sappy scenarios where we die to fill our empty hearts and feel like our existence actually meant something."

Riley almost missed it, as he drowsily blinked, but the room flashed white for half a second. In that half a second, Pearl managed to angrily break through her chains, ripping them apart like they were made out of plastic. She was always the strongest of the group.Actually, from what Riley had seen in his new life, Pearl was stronger than any Rogue to ever exist. Some say that every Rogue differs from each other, and some have the power to maintain more of the power, lasting longer, making them even stronger.

"I guess all she needed was a push," Fiona muttered, completely matching Riley's thoughts.

From the corner of his eyes, Riley saw Pearl jump up from her seat and walk straight to Hart, who was not chained up to the cylinder like them. He couldn't speak up in time, not because he didn't know what she was about to do, but because his body didn't let him. He couldn't pass out now.

Pearl slapped Hart across the face, hard. She did it again, and again, switching hands, later punching instead of slapping. She screamed his name and Riley panicked, Pearl was losing it. She was going to get herself caught and killed. The demons should have heard her by now, they were most definitely on their way.

"WAKE UP!" Her hand lit up as she jabbed her fingers straight into his heart, grabbing it and letting go of the light.

As the doors of the room opened, a new light lit up the room.Hart's eyes were blood red, glowing brighter than the torches. Demons rushed in, tackling Pearl to the ground. They were so distracted by Pearl that they missed the pink elephant in the room.

Hart rose from his chains and began to morph.

Riley didn't even get the chance to talk to him, his transformation was unavoidable now. He knew they had to get out of there or they would die. The transformation started the same way the first time;the ground beneath them burst into flames and so did Hart.

One of the demons Pearl was fighting stumbled into the single lever on the wall, causing the cylinder to start spinning.

"Hart, don't lose control," Riley whispered as he came face to face with him for a brief second.

The flames all around them danced higher and he knew they were reacting to Hart's emotions. It threw him off, because it meant Hart was either in there, or that was just him. It had been a long time, maybe things were different now. Maybe Hart was in full control.

The transformation arrived extremely fast. He became giant, sprouting larger horns and the unforgettable monster physique. He was so big he broke through the ceiling. And now, the demons noticed him.But it was too late for them. The prince of hell grabbed them and tossed them into the fire where they disappeared.

More came, but he fought them all. Until the guardian came.

Riley knew the guardian was on its way when everything around them turned colder, and darker if it was possible. Pearl switched off the lever and made sure that they weren't facing the Morseeker. She quietly messed with their chains, trying to break them off.

"Leave before I destroy you for what you have done," Hart spoke, sending chills down their spines. His voice was that of a God,echoing deeply through the air. It was unsettling, but Riley felt safe. He knew Hart would wake up and save them. Although they owed Pearl for that one.

"You have his blood, but you are no prince," the Morseeker whispered. "You will suffer the same fate. In time, Hartheon."

The Morseeker slowly floated back into the darkness, dragging the cold air with it. If they both had fought, Riley was afraid no one would have made it out alive. The guardians are something that should never be toyed with. It still shocked them all to see one, however, a guardian working with anything other than itself should be noted and taken seriously.

The giant monster towering them tore the walls apart, leaving one giant gap for them to jump through. Pearl managed to break Fiona's chains, but was having a difficult time doing it by herself now that she had used all her power to wake Hart up. She could die and be gone forever if she didn't get back to safety in time.

Fiona gasped in pain as she removed the same contraption Riley had from her chest. It was no contraption, it was a being attached inside of their bodies. To Riley, it all made sense now. It was one of the creatures used to drain the life force out of someone. It also made sense why Pearl had the capability to burst through her chains. It wasn't just because she was powerful, but she didn't have one. They must have thought it was only worth it to put one on the leader, the soon-to-be traitor demon and his sister. They were well-known in Hell, Pearl not so much. She purposely made sure it stayed that way.

Fiona and Pearl both rushed to Riley, pulling apart the metal and without warning, pulling off the creature from his chest. He gasped, too. It was like breathing fresh air for the first time. He already felt his energy returning to him.

He took a few more seconds to compose himself, then walked to Daniel, who was barely awake. He was covered in dirt, sweat and blood, but still looked just as beautiful as the day they met. Riley freed him and caught the man as he fell from the shock. He desperately grabbed onto Riley, breathing heavily as life returned to his eyes.

"Hey," Daniel said, smiling.

"Get up before I throw you both off this tower," Pearl said.

"Someone's salty," Daniel whispered.

Hart roared painfully loud one last time before jumping out and disappearing to the bottom of the tower. The four of them grabbed each others hands and jumped down with him. They were strong enough to withstand the impact, only Pearl lost her balance and tripped face forward into the water.

That was when Riley noticed Hart in the distance shifting back to his human form. He turned around, giving all of them a clear view of his entire naked body before his royal clothes enveloped it.

"He has a really good body, how in hell does it even turn into that hideous we witnessed?" Pearl commented.

"So that's him," Daniel said quietly, the only one who wasn't impressed.

"Yep," Pearl replied, "and I know what you're all thinking when he turned . . . where did his dick go?"

Daniel suddenly grabbed Riley and kissed his lips. He was caught off guard that Riley was still staring at Hart for another few seconds before he turned his attention to the kiss. He wasn't sure who pulled apart first, but it happened quite fast.

"Before you say anything," Daniel whispered as Riley opened his mouth, "I didn't do it to assert my dominance over you or something stupid like that. I did it because I've been wanting to do it since you pulled me from those chains, but I didn't because of him. But fuck it, I don't care."

Daniel kissed him again and Riley kissed back.

Hart refused to watch in silence and jumped into the air, floating gracefully towards the group. He landed extremely close to the kissing pair. Pearl and Fiona backed up awkwardly and tried to avert their eyes but they couldn't block the sound of Hart's voice.

"I understand, I just don't understand why you didn't tell me,"he said.

Riley quickly broke the kiss as Hart's normal voice flashed images in his mind. Images of Hart broken and hurt, emotionally distraught, separated from his humanity. He realized what was happening and regretted it. Sure, it had been a long time since him and Hart were a thing, but he never forgot. He could never forget.

"I'm sorry," Riley whispered to the both of them. "Shouldn't have done that. It was insensitive."

"How?" Daniel asked, his eyebrows raising angrily. "I didn't think I was ever going to see you again. I thought I was dead, I thought you were dead. Why shouldn't I have kissed my boyfriend?"

"Hart didn't know about you," Riley told him. "I didn't know how to do it. When he said I wasn't gone for long, I just . . . my heart broke all over again. The last moment we had together was when I killed myself and left him all alone on Earth. It's all my fault and we simply shouldn't have kissed. I'm not a monster, Daniel."

"Fine," Daniel said. "Once we're at base safe and sound, I'll give you guys some time to talk."

"So, anyway, speaking of safe and sound, how are we going to get back?" Pearl said worriedly, looking around for any signs of danger.

"We walk?" Fiona suggested.

"Don't worry, we'll keep you safe, Pearl," Riley told the wide-eyed girl. He grabbed her hand and began walking, leaving any drama behind. But drama being drama, it returned.

"Do you love him?" Hart asked an hour into their hike across the red lands, clearly four feet away from Daniel.

"Can you not?" Riley barked back. "We'll talk later."

"If I kill him, will I have you back?"

"Aw, romantic," Pearl butted in.

"You will kill nobody, Hart!" Riley commanded.

"How do you feel about polyamory?"

Hart had definitely changed. Riley could understand since it had been many years, but to him it had only been a few months. How did someone as unemotional and self destructive become so . . . soft. The old Hart wouldn't have asked, Daniel's head would still be back at the tower. It wasn't something shameful, it was just a bit odd to Riley since he wasn't used to Hart being different.

Although, back home Hart had many different personalities. It shouldn't have been a surprise to him, but that was the beauty of Hart. He was unpredictable.

"That was a joke, right?" Daniel asked.

"Uh, yes?"

"I honestly think instead of Hart and Riley having a talk, Daniel and Hart should have one instead," Fiona suggested. "A real talk, not two men trying to see who is bigger than the other."

"From what we saw, Hart is waaay bigger," Pearl said, winking at Hart.

"Oh, fuck you!" Daniel shouted at her.

"You did, once, I wasn't pleased."

"You are such a liar! You know it's a very good size and not small at all!" Daniel was becoming red, which was rare. "You're just trying to make me feel embarrassed in front of Riley's infamous ex!"

"Maybe for your year on earth, we all know how people back then worshiped little ones," Pearl fought back jokingly.

Riley refused a part in this conversation. He let them walk a head of him so he had some peace and quiet for at least a few feet, if that even helped at all. Times like these made Riley feel like he was back on earth just having a normal day with his friends. But no matter how badly he wanted to fool himself, that was never going to be a reality. He was in hell and there was no way to get him out. This was his new reality and it almost irked him that they acted so normal when they were in danger of being killed.

None of them were surprised they walked away without a scratch, except the scar in their chests from the creature who was feeding on them. As much as Riley wanted to have fun, be free, laugh and enjoy every living moment, someone had to be the adult.

And besides, it wasn't that bad listening to them make a fool of themselves. It meant he was distracted. He didn't want to think about the speech Daniel was going to give him, or the one Hart was going to give him. He didn't want to be stuck in some situation where he was uncomfortable and suddenly had to pick between the two, because it wasn't going to happen. So if they wanted to fight each other over him, Riley wasn't going to interfere. Everyone should be smart about things. Hart should realize what he walked into, and Daniel should realize Hart was just as human as any of them. He had feelings, feelings Riley would always care about.

Riley just wanted everyone to be happy.

[Author's Message]: Um, hi. LOL. So, it's been what? A year since I've uploaded? If you have kept up with my messages and facebook fanpage, then you already know why. If you don't know why, basically I've been busy working on the first book I want to publish and have no time to write for Wattpad, considering I'm also re-writing the entire A Little Insane series. I randomly got the inspiration to write this chapter so instead of ignoring it, I accepted it and wrote. I have no plans on finishing this book, but I will, and I might even finish the 4th book, if I actually get the support to do it. That means voting, commenting, messaging me how much you want this book to be finished, ect. I won't feel inspired if I don't see anyone loving this story. :c This chapter wasn't meant to be long, it was a chapter just to rescue Daniel. And ALL chapters are planned, I just haven't written any. I need the inspiration and energy to do so. <3 I love any of you who are still interested in this story, so don't forget to comment and share the love.

PS: I've also attached an image of Hart for those who keep asking what he looks like
