Another Star

I sat beside the guy I liked by the campfire.

I studied the almost starless sky, saw a lone star, dimly lit, not too far from the moon from my view but perhaps light-years away in actuality.

He kept looking for another star, never noticing the one right beside the moon.

Another senti story. This was a project for English; we had to make flash fiction. But I didn't choose this one because we needed a word count of 400-600 words (I think, I don't remember)

I was inspired to write this because, one time in America, a friend of mine kept looking up at the sky, wondering where are the stars.

I didn't mean it to be a sad story but sometimes things just end that way 😓😂
