Shit bricks
Even if it's super late, I'm gonna rate the Metgala Karl Lagerfeld -themed looks.
Just so you know, I'm easy to impress, so most of these have pretty good results.
! Those are my opinions and are not meant to attack anyone!
Cardi B, I love the corsett with the tie. Her hair looks a bit like the hairstyle "Beehive" with the little push up. The gloves and hairband are a nice touch. She met the theme with that clean look. 10/10
Rihanna and A$AP Rocky. I like the Roses, maybe a little too much, because they just make her face pop out like 'hai thare'. Kinda reminds me of her background dancers from the halftime show. Still, I love her glasses and the half gloves. Also, her dress looks so satisfyingly clean??? 9/10
Rocky, my dude, what is going on recently? Idk, there are just like three different things at once. The blazer, the kilt, the jeans. It kinda attacks itself. Still, he's a nice contrast to Rihanna and the sunglasses meet the typical Lagerfeld theme. 5/10
Jenna Ortega, in Thom Browne. I love this so much, the tight corsett and then the skirt swinging open looks so powerful. Her top reminds me of a suit and her shoes match with that. The little pearls and fringes give the whole look more detail and personality. 10/10
Pedro, my sweet sweet disaster. Two colours, kept it simple, I love his shoes with the high socks. The two red components kinda melt together, maybe a black scarf between them would've helped to keep the contrast. Still, I like how he pulled it off and he stands out of the other white and black looks. 6/10
Gigi Hadid. I like how light her dress looks. The smiling diamond necklace matches her rings and earrings. Really well done with the gloves and the shoulder cover. The only thing that's kinda buggin me are the laces around her wrists. Idk why but it looks like they would be in the way constantly and probably feeling like something crawles up your arm. 9/10
Kendall Jenner, I want her earrings. The two winged sleeves are a nice replacement for the skirt/ dress. The eyelets on her shoes fit with the sparkling costume and collar. I don't know how heavy the sleeves are, but the inside look like these royal carpets, you know what I mean? 8/10
Kim Kardashian. A lot of pearls, it kinda looks uncomfortable to walk in. It's still pretty and her shoes support that 'thin' look. I like the cloak thing, it makes the whole look bigger. The thing bothering me is the collar/necklace because it doesn't fit with the rest of the theme. It's grey and darker, and with nothing else being silver on this look, it kinda unsettles the main parts of the outfit. 7/10
Anne, the woman that never ages. I love her hair, she also has this little 'Beehive' thing going on. I really like the pins and clips, they give the dress an adventurous look and kinda fit with the knitted pattern. The sleeves are just simply gorgeous and they look super soft. Still, the dress looks a bit ragged or as if a loose strand might rip apart the whole thing. 9/10
Donatella Versace, of course in Versace. I enjoy the soft pink and the little droplets. The collar with the roses gives off a nice nature vibe. Her make-up on the other hand. It doesn't match her skintone which can be seen on the difference between neck and face. It's really heavy and is just kinda 'an aged woman who tries to look young'. Her hair looks kinda stiff and forced. Also I don't know if the thing at her wrist is just a hairband or part of the outfit. 5.5/10
Doja Cat, as Lagerfeld's cat. The irony is iconic. I like her dress with the tight beginning and the wide, fluffy end. It reminds of fur, witch makes the perfect connection with the theme. Her nails match claws and her jewelry looks elegant and sleek like the personality of cats. Her make-up and the ears are a little over the top. As gorgeous the dress is, the make-up is freaky. It doesn't sit right with me. 7/10
Billie looks absolutely deadly. Similar to Gigi Hadid, she has the thin gloves and overskirt. She could be the fabulous villain in a movie. Her hair could've been more wild, to match the power of the dress. And maybe a little contrast like for example a red rose somewhere could've make this outfit complete. 8/10
Pete, my guy! He looks like a tourist, not gonna lie. The iconic sunglasses match the theme, but the rest feels kinda half-hearted. Why the hat? Is it a fashion statement? Is it to hide Voldemort on the back of his head? Is it to protect his smoll head from sun radiation? I have so many questions! 4/10
Lizzo, with a lot of pearls too. I like how her dress is held simple but is then topped by the jewelry. Her shoes are top tier and her gloves fit so good. The pearls are a little too plain, I feel like there could've been more sparkles or maybe a little difference between the pattern. Maybe the model on her wristband as a brooch, to give it a bit more of the vibe. 6/10
Margot Robbie in Chanel. It's a beautiful dress but a little plain. A bit more sparkles, a bit more detail to give it more personality. I just feel like she's capable of more. Stilll, her hair is nice and simple, not too heavy make-up. All in all, a soft, clear look. 6/10
Dua Lipa with the same thing. Her dress is so pretty but it's so empty. This is the Metgala! It's all about being big and shining. Her dress looks like it's about to be transformed into a gown by the fairy godmother. I bet it feels like linen. That's a classic vibe and I love that. And omg, it has pockets- Her necklace is just chef's kiss. She looks like a princess undercover. 6.5/10
Hannah Bagshawe and Eddie Redmayne. They're wearing somebody with the lastname McQueen, what else is there to say? I love how they both conclude eachother with their detail. Like, Eddie has white brooches to fit Hannah's dress and her bag matches his suit. Eddie looks a bit like an officer with his badges and the matching watch. It's difficult to make a suit look special and interesting, but he managed that well. Hannah has a pretty dress that reminds me of a sculpture from a museum. A bit contrasting are the two different patterns between her skirt and top. And her bag is not really fitting to her own outfit. I'd give Hannah 6/10 and Eddie 10/10
Jared Leto as Choupette. He IS the cat. He looks like a furry but this was just the introduction look. Still, it's the most iconic one and I honestly love how he interpreted the theme. A bit off-putting, nonetheless. He reminds me of a mascot of some highschool basketball team. 5/10
His actual outfit slayed. He looks like the fabulous-goth-dracula-villain that you just couldn't hate. He's wearing Karl Lagerfeld, so he obviously hit the theme TWICE. I'm not gonna analyse his outfit further, I just wanted to make that dracula compairson. 9/10
Janelle Monáe. She tried. I like how she mixed white and black, but it's a bit chaotic. I think the bag is supposed to symbolise Choupette. I don't know, but she looks like a doll that had suffer through a sudden dressup attack of a five year old. The outfit looks unfinished. But her shoes are really cute. 4/10
And last but not least, Florence Pugh. Her dress is held rather simple, the only contrast being the little tie at the front. The real party is upstairs. That was one hell of a surprise when she shaved her hair but she served it. Her make-up is badass and her earrings fit the wristbands. The cherry of it all is the crazy headpiece. It gives the vibe of a swan and a raven at the same time. It could've been even better when it would've been spreaded like a peacock, that would've given it more volume and wouldn't look so stiff. 9/10
Tbh, the Metgala is just like the Capitol; rich people partying and comparing costumes while the rest of the world crumples to pieces.
