Two of a kind - Part 10 - Wade Wilson/Deadpool x Reader
"So, how do you know that your buyer was this shit sucker, Blake?" Wade asked, as he, (Y/n) and the others sat in Charles' office.
Despite how much Wade and Logan had tried to persuade her that staying in bed was the best option, seeing what she had just been through. Wade wishing that the large feral would buzz off and just leave he and (Y/n) alone. Especially considering that Logan was still to drag him back out from under the covers. (Y/n) had insisted that she had to see the professor straight away.
"Calling this guy, a shit sucker, is a compliment, Wade. He is a slimy, no good, deceitful, cowardly, creepy, murdering asshole, that would sell his own mother if the price was right. And let's just call if gut instinct, shall we." (Y/n) began. Not prepared to pull any punches as far as Connor Blake was concerned.
"Sounds just like my kind of guy. Pray, do tell us more." Wade interjected, as he moved to sit like a child at (Y/n)'s feet. Logan knowing that if the mercenary interrupted one more time, he would cut off Wade's head and shove it up his ass.
"Blake was an agent with the company. Had been for years. This guy was like Teflon. Nothing stuck. But I knew, and I would put money on it, that others also knew, he was dirty. That he was selling secrets, weapons to our enemies. And I know that because of him, I lost a good friend on a mission. You see, my team was called the Wolf pack. As Captain, I was designated the Alpha. Lieutenant Sebastian Michaels was my Beta. And the other six members, Jackson, Hernadez, Tanaka, Ross, Cooper, Steel and Wilson were my Omegas. We were dropped into a mountain region in the Afghanistan in the middle of winter. And boy, were we not happy, but a job was as a job, and the powers that be thought it was worth it. We had been told that a splinter terrorist cell was hiding in the caves in the mountains. That they were planning several attacks on American personnel in the region. Our mission was to seek and destroy. The whole thing had been set up on the word of Blake. But when we did find the group, his intel proved bad. The force was larger than expected, and the targets appeared to know that we were coming. It was like shooting fish in a barrel. Me and the rest of the team were lucky to get out of there alive, despite myself, Ross and Tanaka were wounded. Though Michaels wasn't so fortunate. And we ended up bringing a body bag home. Yet, instead of Blake having his ass handed to him for his fuck up, he got a god damn promotion, and I got to attend the funeral of my best friend." (Y/n) went on. Wade for once feeling like he really shouldn't say something stupid.
"About a week after Michaels funeral, I received an anonymous message. It said that the Wolf pack had been sent on the mission for a reason. That it wasn't just Michaels that was supposed to die that day. It said that I was getting too close for comfort, causing Blake all manner of problems because I was digging into his business. Putting my nose in where it wasn't wanted, that Blake feared that I may have come across something to prove his guilt. And that the rest of my team might be privy to that knowledge. So.........that was why we were sent like lambs to the slaughter. I showed the message to my superiors. I demanded that Blake should be looked into. That he should pay for Michaels death. Yet nothing seemed to be done. And then...........well, then I was diagnosed with the cancer. I told my team about what the doctors had said. Told them if anyone asked them about Blake, that they were to tell them that they knew nothing. That they were to distance themselves from me for their own good. The last thing that happened before I left, was that Blake came up to me and tried to be all sympathetic about my condition. Then, he took my hand, kissed it, and told me not to worry. That everything would work out, and he would have the pleasure of seeing me again. Real soon." (Y/n) added. None of the other mutants present, needing to be telepaths to know how (Y/n) was feeling. To know that she wanted pay back for all that had been done to her. To her friends. And Charles knew that there was no way, that now she knew what and who she was, that (Y/n) would be dissuaded.
"So? When do we start?" Wade asked, as he jumped to his feet. Looking around at the others, who seemed to be as eager as he was.
"Start what? Wilson?" (Y/n) countered. Despite knowing exactly what the mercenary had in mind. And not liking it one little bit.
"When do we start hunting for this sick, sack a cat shit, Blake?"
"Oh, no, no, no. I don't want anyone else getting hurt because of me. Its my faults Michaels is dead. I'm not having anyone else's blood on my hands. Blake is my business. If that bastard wanted the leader of the Wolf pack, then he's gonna get her, but not the way he imagined. He's gonna find that this wolf makes one dangerous lone predator." (Y/n) replied, as she got to her own feet and stood before the black and red lycra clad mutant.
It didn't matter that she knew that Wade couldn't be hurt. That the mutants around her, would be a hell of a lot harder to deal with than her last team. But Blake was her prey. She now had him in her sights. And she wasn't about to let anyone else have the pleasure of bringing him down.
"(Y/n)!" A soft calm voice said. (Y/n) turning to see Charles roll around from behind his desk.
"I know that you want this man. But given what he sent after you the other night, I think that it would be better if you let us help........."
"Yeah. You think that I am gonna let you have all the fun, you've got another thing coming." Wade interrupted, squealing like a giddy little schoolgirl at the possibility of seeing (Y/n) in action again. Even more so now, that she could remember what she was.
"Braindead, and the professor are right, sweetheart. Ya one of us. You have a new pack now. And the pack stick together." Logan added. Despite knowing that he was the last one that should talk about working with others. The large feral coming up behind (Y/n) and placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
"You're right. I can't, shouldn't do this by myself. I wouldn't have done this without my old team, so I shouldn't do it without you guys. We need to find Blake first. Need to find whatever hole that rat has burrowed into. And when we do, we'll go and find him. Bring him back. Do whatever the professor feels is right." (Y/n) replied. Nodding in agreement. The mutant hoping that she could keep her true thoughts hidden from the telepath. That she would be able to stop him seeing that as soon as they had found Blake, she would be gone before the others knew it. That no one else would get hurt because of her. And that the lone wolf would not be denied her prey.
