She's gone - Part 11 - Logan x Reader
This chapter is all Logan, because, well because I utterly adore the big guy😍. But the next one will go back to being Charles and Erik, in hopefully a fun final part. Please enjoy
(Y/n) couldn't help but laugh, as she watched the children run around the mansion, playing their little games. It had been so long since she had been able to laugh. So long since she had wanted to laugh. Erik had had her confined to some rooms, once he had heard of what she had been doing. Since Mystique had informed him of her attempts to speak with members of the brotherhood. To tell them that there was another way. And since then, the only faces that she had ever really seen, were of the woman that she had once thought of as a sister, and the man that she had loved. She had to admit that she knew Erik would be angry, when he eventually found out that she had been trying to prevent him from his goal. But what else was she to do? She had had to try. (Y/n) knew why most of the mutants that had chosen to follow Erik, were there. They were disillusioned. Beaten, belittled and berated. They had been treated like outcasts. Modern day lepers. As if they were a plague on the world. Many had even been disowned by their own families. Their kin, afraid of their powers. And Erik had used that to his advantage. He was a pied piper, calling the lost to his side. Promising them a better future. Telling them that together they would show all those that had hurt them, who truly was superior. That they would never have to fear again. And that they would show humans, what it was to truly live in fear. But (Y/n) had been able to escape her confines. Been able to speak to those that were perhaps not too sure that this mutant messiah, was not all that he promised. So now, to be surrounded by warmth, light and happiness, was a nice change. The scenes taking her back to her youth. Back to a time when the world had been filled with hope and possibilities. When she, Charles, Erik and the others, had been a family.
"Ya ok, sweetheart?" A deep voice asked from behind her. (Y/n) chuckling to herself, as a cloud of cigar smoke seemed to surround her.
"Yes. I'm fine thank you Logan. It's just nice to see some smiling faces for a change. To see faces that, in the future, will carry on Charles' good works. That will continue to make his dreams a reality." (Y/n) replied. Hoping that this next generation of mutants wouldn't have to fight and hide like so many before them.
"You know, Logan. I know you are a little suspicious about the reasons I have come here. And I don't blame you. If I were in your shoes, I would be too. Yet I assure you, as I will the others, that I mean no harm. That Erik's beliefs are not mine. That I will never hurt, or allow any harm to come to these children, you, the others, or Charles. I have always been more powerful than anyone has ever known. Even Erik fears my true capabilities. Even Charles, in some ways. But whatever comes. Whatever Erik decides to do. My powers will never be used against anyone that calls this place home." (Y/n) assured, as she turned around and looked at the large feral.
"You have my word." (Y/n) added, as she placed her hand on Logan's arm.
"I am the same girl that you met all those years ago, Logan. I'm the same girl that you met at that little diner in Huntersville. The same girl that you stabbed through the arm because of that backfiring car. Just because I loved him, it doesn't mean that I agreed with everything that Erik ever did. I lost the man I loved, a long time ago. I stayed with him because I thought that I might be able to get him back. Then when I realised I couldn't, I stayed to help those that were called to his side. I stayed to try and show them that what he preached, wasn't the only way. But when I saw into his heart. When I saw that he would no longer allow me to undermine him, I knew that I had no choice but to leave. I knew that there was only one place I could come. One person I could turn to. One person that still loved me." (Y/n) explained, as she looked up at the large feral that seemed to muse for a moment. Logan turning the cigar in his mouth. More clouds of smoke seeming to engulf her, as he puffed on the stogie. The big guy suddenly pulling her into his arms and squeezing her tight. (Y/n) taking that, as a sign that the not overly talkative feral, finally truly trusted her.
"Logan!"
"Yeah kid?"
"I need you to get all the kids and the others, somewhere safe." (Y/n) almost whispered. Logan feeling her entire body stiffen, as held her.
"What.................?"
"Just do it! He's coming. Erik is coming, and he's not alone." (Y/n) told the feral, as she pulled away from his embrace. Logan looking around, expecting to see everything metal in the mansion begin to shake and rattle. To feel the magnetic field manipulator's abilities pulling on his own body. Yet there was nothing.
"But................."
"I can feel him, Logan. I can feel all the others that are with him. He wants to take me back with him. And he will be perfectly happy to hurt anyone that gets in his way. So, if Erik wants me, he is going to have to fight me. Now, do as I say. Get the kids, get the others, and take yourselves somewhere safe. Please." (Y/n) interrupted, as she turned and made her way to the main door of the mansion. Only to find her arm caught in the large feral's grasp.
"You need our help, kid. Let the professor talk to him. But if that fails, if Magneto wants a war, we'll give him one. We can defeat him together. All of us." Logan retorted. Furrowing his brows, as (Y/n) turned and slowly shook her head.
"No Logan. As much as I appreciate the offer, Erik has only come here because of me. I am not going to let you, Charles, or anyone else get hurt because I came to ask for help. If Erik and the Brotherhood want a battle. If they want a war. I am just the girl to give it to them. Finally, he is going to see what I am truly capable of. Finally, I will prove to him that he has chosen the wrong path. And that it is a path that I have absolutely no intention of following him down." (Y/n) replied. Kissing Logan softly on the cheek before pulling her arm away from his grasp and making for the door. A small smile pulling at her lips, as she heard her old friend begin to usher the kids out of the room. (Y/n) unable to stop herself from chuckling slightly, as her hand pulled on the door to reveal that the heavens had suddenly opened. The rain almost instantly soaking her to the bone, as she stepped outside.
"If you want me, Erik. Come and get me!"
