Golden Widow - Part 1 - Bucky Barnes x Reader

I know that I have a few imagines already open for Bucky. But as far as I am concerned, there is no such thing as too much Bucky, and this just happens to be a request for ducdhck. So, I hope you all enjoy the first part.

Bucky watched as the two sisters spared. It was poetry in motion. The twin widows fighting as thought their very lives still depended on it. And even though they were not identical, the two women seemed to finish and begin each other's moves. Their bodies moving seamlessly as if they were still confined in the womb together. Buck had to admit that Natasha had always cut a fine figure of a woman. A woman as beautiful as she was deadly. But that said. Natasha was nothing compared to the real prize. The one that had been known as the Golden Widow. And that was (Y/n) Romanoff. A truly gifted, agile, and deadly creature. A feared, silent, and highly creative assassin. An assassin that had proved to be a tough nut to crack. Yet now, she was as much a part of the team as Natasha ever was. And Bucky, well Bucky was in love.

"You're doing it again, pal." A voice suddenly said. Bucky shaking the thoughts from his mind, as he realised that Steve was talking to him.

"Doing what again?" Bucky replied, as he tried to pretend that he had no idea what his old friend was referring to. And went back to lifting his weights.

"Don't give me all that. You know exactly what I am talking about. You're watching (Y/n) again. I've noticed that you always want to come down here when she's training." Steve laughed, as Bucky began to glow a bright shade of pink.

"What are you talkin about? I'm not watching anyone, punk." Bucky huffed, as he tried to look in any direction other than where the twins were still sparing.

"I know that it's been a while, Buck. But you do know that you can talk to her, don't you? I mean, other than when you're on a mission together. I don't think that she will bite your head off. Well, not anymore, anyway." Steve told him. The Captain knowing that at one point, the Golden Widow was capable of almost anything.

"Natalia. I.........I am sorry. I didn't mean........" A female voice said. The two boys looking over to see (Y/n) crouched next to her sister, as Natasha gasped violently for air.

"It.......it's alright, (Y/n). I.......I know you didn't mean it." Natasha finally managed to say as the boys rushed over to see what had happened.

"I am sorry. I......I just forget sometimes. I didn't mean to hurt you, Natalia. Maybe I shouldn't be with you. Maybe I am still a little too dangerous to be here. Maybe......."

"No, (Y/n). It was my fault; I should have been more careful. And you aren't going anywhere, you belong with me." Natasha assured. The widow knowing that all those years in the Red Room had taken more of a toll on (Y/n) than the rest. They had worked her harder, and for longer than any of the other girls. That (Y/n)'s natural abilities had made her different. But that had all come with a price. And the price was that just like the Winter Soldier, she had been tortured, brainwashed, and certain of her memories erased. And also, like Bucky, she was plagued with nightmares of what she had been and done. The Golden Widow now trying, with the teams help, to piece her life back together and remember who and what she really was.

"I think that we should stop for the day. We'll try again tomorrow, ok?" Natasha continued, as Steve helped her from the floor. (Y/n) nodding as the twins embraced.

"Yes......tomorrow." (Y/n) replied. Giving all those present a sad smile, before making her way out of the gym.

"Is she ok?" Bucky asked, as he watched the door close behind (Y/n).

"I don't think so. She keeps having flashback to the Red Room. To missions. She keeps thinking that she's back there. And she had another nightmare last night. A bad one. I swear that they are getting worse, not better. I have tried to talk to her, but she is still so closed off. She thinks that its weak to talk. That she can't show any sign of vulnerability. She knows it's safe here. That everyone sees her as part of the team. But I still have a terrible feeling that one morning I am going to wake up, to find her gone. I know that she feels alone. She just needs someone that she can talk to." Natasha explained. The widow hoping that she was wrong, and that she wouldn't lose her sister again.

"Why don't we get Buck to talk to her? Maybe he could help." Steve suddenly said, as his and Natasha's eyes turned to look at the soldier. Bucky glaring at his friend.

"I am sure that (Y/n) wouldn't want me to talk to her. I mean, with the Winter Soldier and everything......."

"That's a great idea, Steve." Natasha interrupted. Obviously not hearing a word that Bucky was saying.

"I'm sure that you talking to her would really help, Buck. She needs a friend. Maybe she would feel more comfortable talking to you. And she likes you. I know she does. Please Bucky. I know that she might say no, but it's worth a try." Natasha added. Bucky nodding slowly as he realised that this could be just the push he needed, to get him to summon up the courage to actually talk to the Golden Widow. To explain everything to her.

"Ok, I'll talk to her. But I'm not making any promises. If she says no, then you will have to think of something else." Bucky sighed. The old soldier making his way to the door. Wondering what he was possibly going to say while trying not to make a complete fool of himself.

                                                   >>-----------------------------------<<

Bucky stood in front of (Y/n)'s door. It was only a short trip between the gym and her room, but to Bucky it felt as though he had had to walk all the way from upstate New York down to Brooklyn. Though part of him wished it could have been longer. It wasn't that he didn't want to talk to her. Didn't want to help. Lord knows, he hated the idea of losing (Y/n) just as much as Natasha did. But they had history. Or at least the Winter Soldier and the Golden Widow did. And part of him was afraid that (Y/n) would still only see him as the brain washed assassin, and not the man that he really was. But they had always spoken well while on missions. Worked well together. And Nat had just said that (Y/n) did like him. So, why should he feel so nervous about talking to her now.

Still stood before her door, Bucky slowly raised his hand. He could do this. He was going to do this. But there again, he was a mess. He was dirty and sweaty from his gym session. If he wanted to make a good impression. If he wanted to make (Y/n) see that Bucky Barnes was the kind of guy that she should get entangled with. Then maybe he should at least shower. Comb his hair. Dress in something other than sweatpants and a t-shirt. This after all was important. If he was going to sit down and ask her to explain what she was going through. If he was also going to explain that he loved her. That he thought that she was the most amazing creature on earth, then maybe he should make this special. He had promised Nat that he would talk to (Y/n), and so he would. But she wasn't going to have another nightmare anytime soon. And all he needed was at most an hour. An hour to get the right words. An hour to prove to the Golden Widow, that he was the man for her.
