A little scare - Part 1 - Sam Wilson/Falcon x Reader

This is my first Sam imagine. I love using him in other stories, he tends to make quite a few cameo appearances. But this is my first full imagine just for him. So, I hope that you enjoy.

"I don't know how she does it. I swear that I am still traumatised from that movie that I watched with her." Bucky whispered, as he, Steve, Sam and Clint watched (Y/n) sit on the sofa. The woman wrapped in her biggest comforter with a huge bowl of popcorn in front of her, staring wide eyed at the TV as her latest horror movie began to play. Bucky shuddering as he remembered when he had been insane enough to join the resident horror buff, for one of her late night sessions in a blacked out common room.

He had to admit that she had tried to warn him. She had told him that given his own nightmares, that that particular movie probably wasn't the best thing for him to watch. But her description of the main horror character as a burnt man in a Christmas sweater and beat up hat. Sporting the contents of the knife draw on his hand, and having a penchant for dreams, had just led the Winter Soldier to scoff and declare that he wasn't bothered by any dumb scary movie. A comment that he had quickly come to regret, when Nightmare on Elm Street hadn't even been halfway through. Bucky turning to glare at Sam as he began to chuckle. The Falcon recalling the ashen look on the old soldier's face when the movie had finished.

"I don't think that anything scares that girl. If it doesn't involve demons, ghosts, crazed killer, witches, creepy clowns, or machete wielding maniacs, she ain't interested. I have never seen her jump once. And she still manages to sleep like a baby. I watched the Conjuring with her the other week. I swear that I was looking over my shoulder every five minutes, for a week." Clint added. The archer refusing to ever sit down and watch another of (Y/n)'s movie marathons again.

"I unfortunately saw that Texas Chainsaw Massacre thing. They would never have made anything like that in our day." Steve chimed in. The Captain still not sure that such things should be made into motion pictures.

"You guys are a bunch of wimps. And you lot may think that (Y/n) is impossible to scare. But I bet that I can do it." Sam laughed. His broad smile growing even broader as Bucky glared at him.

"Oh yeah, smartass? I think that you are just as scared of her movies as the rest of us. The only one that doesn't seem to be bothered is Vision. But (Y/n) banned him from joining her ever again, because he kept asking questions and interrupting the movie. I think that you are just sore because (Y/n) hasn't wanted you to join her. That she hasn't asked you to snuggle under that blanket of her with her. That you haven't had an excuse to wrap your arms around her, when she does finally get scared." Bucky scoffed. Crossing his arms over his chest. The Winter Soldier smiling slightly as for once, the Falcon began to look a little uncomfortable. Sam doing his best to ignore the knowing looks of the other two men.

Annoyingly, it was true was true what Bucky had said. Sam would give everything to join (Y/n) on the sofa. To be under the comforter with her. His arms wrapped around her, just on the off chance that (Y/n) ever found herself scared and needing to hold onto someone for reassurance. He would certainly not complain if she buried her head into his chest when the ghastly ghoul jumped out of the shadows. But as it was, whenever he had tried to join (Y/n) for one of her horror evenings, someone else seemed to have got there first. And even though most of them had later refused to ever join her again, there still always seemed to be another willing victim to take their place.

"What are you talking about now? I swear that you haven't been taking your medication, old man." Sam huffed. Doing his best to pretend that he had no idea what Bucky was talking about.

"Oh please! Would you like a coffee, (Y/n)? Can I join you on your run, (Y/n)? Would you like me to hold the punching bag for you, (Y/n)? Can I follow you around like a lovesick puppy, (Y/n)?" Bucky replied mockingly. Doing his best to imitate Sam's voice. Steve and Clint doing all they could to not laugh as Bucky asked the questions. Both of them knowing that they had heard Sam say just those things, well, apart from asking if he could follow her about like a lovesick puppy, a thousand times since (Y/n) had joined their ranks.

"Its like watching a horny teenager try and ask out his crush. All you're missing is a permanent hard on and a bad case of acne." Bucky added. Steve and Clint unable to hold back their obvious amusement anymore, at the straight faced soldier's comment.

"Look. Why don't you just go and join her now? I'm sure that she wouldn't mind. Tony and Bruce are in the labs. Vision isn't allowed to join her anymore. Pietro is off with some girl. Scott has Cassie for the weekend. Peter is with his aunt May, and Nat is busy at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters. So, the chances of you not getting disturbed, are pretty good. Just go join her. You might stop drooling after her if you tell her how you feel." Clint finally managed to say. Doing his best to control his laughter. The Falcon groaning as he realised that it didn't matter how much he protested, it was obvious that everyone knew that he had fallen for (Y/n).

"Yeah. Come on Casanova. Make ya move." Bucky pushed. The Winter Soldier hoping to watch Sam go and make a complete fool of himself.

"No. I'm going to prove that the fearless (Y/n) can be scared. And when she is, I'm going to be there to protect her. Her knight in shining armour. The only thing is, I'm gonna need ya help." Sam replied. Putting on his best puppy dog eyes until even Bucky huffed in agreement. The four men going off to conspire about how best to scare the unscareable (Y/n). All of them wondering if it was even possible.

                                                          >>-------------------------------<<

(Y/n) sat on the sofa. A small smile pulling at her lips. As soon as she had heard Bucky's voice, she had stopped listening to the movie. She had seen it a hundred times before anyway and knew it word for word. So, whatever Buck was trying to whisper to the others about, was probably going to be much more interesting.

She had always felt that Sam might just have a thing for her. But he had never come straight out and said anything to her. So, to hear the others confirm that the Falcon was interested, made her heart beat a little quicker. She had to admit that she had always liked Sam. He was handsome, funny and brave. With a smile that could light up the room. And even though he did have a terrible tendency of teasing poor Bucky, she couldn't resist those big, beautiful brown eyes of his. Yet, the fact that he always seemed to be interested in one new girl or another, had always put (Y/n) off telling Sam how she felt for him. For no girl ever wants to be just another nameless face in a distant memory of a late night liaison. Even if that liaison was with Sam Wilson. But now, now with him telling the others that he wanted to scare her so that he could be there to protect her. So that he could take her into his arms and hold her. The slayer of demons, witches, and creepy clowns. Maybe she could tell him how she felt. Though despite liking the idea of throwing herself into Sam's arms, she wasn't going to let herself be scared by anything that Sam, Steve, Bucky, or Clint could come up with. Not even Wes Craven, Stephen King, or Clive Barker had ever been able to do that. But she. She could scare with the best of them. So, all she needed to do was take a few hints from her favourite writers, and it would be seen who would be jumping into whose arms. All she had to do was set the stage, and Sam would be in her arms begging her to protect him from the ghosties and ghoulies. And she knew exactly who to call on to help her with her little plan.
