The Lucky Lady - PotC - Part 1 - Norrington x Reader
I must admit to a soft spot for Norrington. And let's face it, Jack Davenport is quite lovely. So, I thought I'd give the Commodore an imagine of his own. I hope that you enjoy.
"SHIP AHOY!" A voice called out from the crow's nest. Gibbs looking up to the man perched high above the deck.
"WHERE AWAY?" Gibbs enquired, as he moved from the wheel.
"STARBOARD BOW" The voice replied, the first mate looking over to where Jack was watching over the ex-Commodore Norrington, who was scrubbing the deck. The pirate captain apparently not hearing a word that was called out.
Gibb shook his head and reached for his glass. A small subtle smile creeping across his lips as he saw the ship bearing down on them at some speed. The name, and the figurehead, ones that he hadn't seen in some time. But was quite looking forward to seeing up close once again.
"What is it?" Will asked, as he came up behind the first mate of the Black Pearl.
"That lad, is the Lucky Lady. And Jack won't feel so lucky when it catches up to us." Gibbs chuckled, as he called out to lower the mainsail.
"Why won't Jack be so lucky. And why are we letting that ship catch up to us?" Will asked. Getting more than a sense that Gibbs was up to something.
"Well, firstly, because I've known tha captain of that ship since she were a lass. And I ain't seen her in many a year. And secondly, because last time I did see her, Jack unbeknownst to her, used her as a stake in a card game. A game he lost. Despite saying that there was no way he could. Jack deserves a kick up tha backside. And she is just the girl ta do it." Gibbs told Will, as he handed him his spy glass. Will's eyes on the beautifully carved female figurehead that graced the ship.
"Who is this captain?" An intrigued Will enquired, as he turned his gaze from the quickly approaching ship.
"Why have we lowered tha mast, Mister Gibbs?" Jack questioned, as he came up behind the two men. The sudden entrance of the captain preventing Will from getting his information. Gibbs smiling as he answered his friends query with one word.
"(Y/n)."
"What?" Jack spluttered out. As he reached for his glass. Fumbling as he spied the name of the ship.
"Raise the sail. RAISE THE SAIL!" Jack called out frantically. The crew looking between the captain, and the first mate, as Gibbs ordered them to keep it down.
"She's gonna catch up with us either way, Captain. Its better not to run. It'll only make her angrier." Gibbs reasoned, as Jack tried to hide behind some barrels of rum.
"She'll kill me. I know she's gonna kill me." Jack rambled as he tried to pull a pile of ropes over his head. Norrington staring at the pirate, as he climbed up the wooden steps to the helm. His bucket of water and scrubbing brush in hand.
"And what is wrong with him? I mean, apart from the obvious." Norrington scoffed, as he looked over to where Will stood. The blacksmith obviously as bemused as Norrington.
"Why does it have to be (Y/n)? I'd prefer Jones over (Y/n)." Jack babbled out. Norrington and Will both now looking at Gibbs for clarification.
"And whom might this (Y/n) be? And why does she have our brave, and fearless captain, quivering like a child, under a pile of ropes at the mere mention of her name?" Norrington enquired sarcastically, as he dropped his bucket of water to the deck. Jack reaching out, emptying the liquid onto the boards, and placing the empty bucket over his head.
"Ah, (Y/n). Or should I say, (Y/n) Sparrow. Captain of the Lucky Lady, and daughter of one Jack Sparrow." Gibbs chuckled. As both Will and Norrington stared, mouths agog, at the first mate.
"DAUGHTER?" The two men asked in unison. Both of them unable to believe their ears.
"Aye. Daughter. And a more exquisite creature ya could never hope ta meet in all tha seven seas. Luckily, (Y/n) takes after her mother in all things. God rest her soul. And that includes her temper." Gibbs informed the pair, as Jack cautiously stuck his head out from his hiding place.
"Ya don't think that she's still angry about me losing at that game of cards, do ya? I didn't mean to use er as a stake. It just sorta came out. And I was sure I was going ta win. How was I ta know that that scoundrel was a better cheat than I was?" Jack asked, before burrowing his way back under his pile of ropes.
"I don't know Jack. But ya can ask er yaself soon." Gibbs replied, as he made his way down the stairs to the deck. Norrington and Will in close pursuit. The pair more than intrigued as to what a daughter of Jack could be like.
"Tell her I'm not er. Tell er I fell overboard. Tell er I was eaten by a kraken." The pile of rope called out, as Gibbs stood by the rail. Waiting for the Lucky Lady to pull alongside.
"Nice ta see ya again Captain Sparrow." Gibbs said happily, as a pair of black leather boots landed on the deck of the Black Pearl. Will and Norrington staring in disbelief, as a large brimmed hat was removed to reveal, as Gibbs had put it, the most exquisite creature in all the seven seas.
"Joshamee!" The woman exclaimed as she rushed into Gibbs arms. The first mate holding her tight. Norrington gripping onto his chest as he tried to hold back his heart, that was threatening to beat out of his chest.
"Its good ta see ya too lass. I swear ya get more beautiful every time I lay me eyes on ya." Gibbs told her, as he pushed her away slightly so he could get a better look at the young woman.
"When will you come over to the Lady, Joshamee? I need a first mate like you. Grace is a good man, but he doesn't know the sea like you do. And any man that has put up with Jack for as long as you have, deserves a break." (Y/n) asked, as the man that she had known since she was only a babe in arms, pushed a few stray strands of hair, back behind her ear.
"As much as I'd love ta lass, we both know that ya father needs at least one person with a level head around him." Gibbs replied, as (Y/n) noddingly agreed. Knowing that if it wasn't for his loyal first mate, Jack Sparrow would probably not have lasted as long as he had.
"Speaking of that scabby dog. Where is he? I have a bone to pick with him." (Y/n) said, as she turned her attention from Gibbs to the rest of the ship. Her eyes falling on the two men nearby.
"And whom might these two be?" (Y/n) asked, as she looked Will and Norrington up and down. The captain of the Lucky Lady pulling a handkerchief from her sleeve and placing it over her nose as she suddenly fell downwind of Norrington. The former Commodore coughing uncomfortably as he realised that the smell was coming from him.
"Ah, of course. (Y/n) this is William Turner." Gibbs introduced. Will bowing respectfully as he continued to stare in disbelief at the vision before him.
"Turner? Turner.......hmmmmm. Are you Bootstrap's boy?" (Y/n) mussed. Will nodding as (Y/n) smiled at him.
"It is a pleasure to meet the son of Bootstrap Bill. As I recall, your father was a good man, and a good pirate. I know that those two things don't normally go hand in hand. But Bill was." (Y/n) told Will. Before turning her attention to the scruffy man by his side.
"And this is James Norrington." Gibbs informed (Y/n). (Y/n) trying to look through the dirt and grim on his face, to the features beneath.
"Norrington? I've only ever heard of one James Norrington in these parts. And that would be Commodore James Norrington of the British Royal Navy." (Y/n) growled, as she grabbed the musket from her belt. Pulled back the hammer and pointed it at Norrington's head.
"I hate the Royal Navy. You and your kind have killed more of my friends than I care to remember. It's because of the Royal Navy that my mother is dead. I should take your life here and now." (Y/n) barked, as the former Commodore continued to stare at the woman before him, as if he had forgotten about the world, and all that mattered was her.
"(Y/n). He's not with tha Navy anymore. He's one of us." Gibbs tried to reason, as he placed his hand on (Y/n)'s shoulder.
"Just because he lost his powdered wig, his fancy uniform, and looks and smells as though he has been sleeping with pigs, that doesn't make him one of us." (Y/n) replied, as she continued to snarl at the once respectable man.
"If you are going to kill me, my lady. I would rather you shot me through the heart. For it already belongs to you. And I would rather die now, looking into your beautiful eyes, than live a single day without you." Norrington declared dreamily, as he moved the now wide eyed (Y/n)'s musket from his forehead to his chest.
Gibbs looking at the fearsome female pirate, not sure what would happen next.
