"๐•ทet's just runaway, you and me, we don't need to stay here, I don't mind, I can't just leave you alone, at least we'll have each other." She explained.

"Okay okay, where should we go then? We need to find a safe place for you." He explained, looking around, seeing nothing close by to spend their time at. She smiled softly, "You need to really stop worrying about me, but I do know a place where we could go, it's long ways from here but we should be able to make it there before sunset." She explained grabbing his hand, "Come on, let's go I guess." She said looking up at him. "Right, let's go." He said following her lead once more.

The two set off on their journey and began to pick up on conversation, discussing things about each other, more so for Elizabeth since she did have more to talk about, she was a very talkative girl and enjoyed sharing things with others, especially people who would actually listen.

"It's a pretty funny story actually, when I was younger, maybe four or five years old, I believed when I got older, I would marry some prince and become a beautiful princess, that would give me the opportunity to get away from my fathers little bakery, I could finally change my life around but of course, it was nothing but a silly little dream." She explained with a small laugh before sighing a bit.

"I don't think it's silly, it was your dream, everyone has their hopes and dreams from what I know of." He explained.

She laughed once more before stating, "Well, I'm glad I gave up on it, because as I got older, that's when I began to be more aware of the world that surrounded me, the people who cheated the system through magic, to win a perfect life or the once who's magical aspects burnt it all to the ground. That's when I realized I had it much better then some people and got to understand the unwanted more better." She explained once more.

"Ah, well that sounds pretty nice, good for you, I still don't really know what I'm planning on doing with myself, but it seems like you already got things all figured out." He mentioned, solemnly glancing down at the ground as they continued to walk.

"Hey, if you ever need help, I'm here to support you to the best of my abilities, I promise." She stated.

Orkos smiles for a moment before she began to talk on about any other life stories she had to fill up the silence on their little journey. Suddenly Orkos noticed her voice fading away and so did his surroundings, his eyes widened as he looked around in panic.

The scenery wasn't forest no more, it was screams of people being ripped apart as they ran away from these shadow like creatures, fire swarmed the area, as these creatures swept the earth, finding every single mortal in hiding and adding it to its horrid army. At this rate, these things could consume the whole human race if it wanted and that's what it seemed to be doing, in the distance he could see himself, an older him, laughing maniacally at the destruction being caused, was this all because of him? He then saw a mortal crawling on the ground towards him, as it cried in pain, the shadow consuming its body as it reached up to him, "Orkos! Orkos! ORKOS!"

Then everything snapped back to reality as Elizabeth waved her hand over his face, "Orkos, Orkos, are you still listening?" She asked, noticing he wasn't responding to her as they walked, just staring off into the distance. Orkos gulped, blinking a couple of times before turning his attention towards her, "Uh, What? Sorry, I got destructive- distracted! I mean I got distracted!" He said panicking for a second.

"Oh it's okay, I'm just making sure you were okay." She mentioned with a smile. "Hey, why don't you tell me more about yourself, I could honestly talk for hours but I don't think I should be the one doing all the talking. I'm interested, tell me everything." She explained.

"You want to know more about me? Uh, well, my name is Orkos.. heh, god, you already know that... I can also turn into some sort of shadow, kinda like that but it's actually a new form of mine." He pointed at his and Elizabeth's actual shadows trailing off behind them before scratching the back of his head, "Which you also already knew. Heh, well that's it." He explained, not really having much to tell her.

"That's it? Huh weird, I'm not judging you or anything but there has to be more." She mentioned, "I mean, I only have memory from yesterday, like I never even existed before that." He added.

"Oh, so you're new to all this huh? That make a lot of sense now. It's like your a little baby but more intellectual." She giggled slightly.

"Haha Yeah. Uh, what's a baby?" He asked confused out of his mind. "I will answer your questions once we make it to our destination, I think it will be more suiting, plus there will be lots of things there to help me explain things more better anyways." She mentioned.

The two continued to follow the paths through the forest, as they simply enjoyed the sounds of their surroundings, from the wind rustling the tree branches up above to the singing of the birds.

It wasn't long until they passed by the edge of a small market, set up near another village, they seemed to have lots of goods present, from sown clothes to an assortment of fruits and veggies, probably from local farmers attempting to get some extra cash while in down.

"Orkos, why don't we stock up on food while we're near by, since we're kinda off on our own, it may be useful to have so we don't starve ourselves to death." She noted.

"Oh sure, you can go ahead, I'll just stay over..." he looked around, noticing an old fallen tree on the ground, "...there." He pointed out, "Are you sure you don't want to come with me?" She asked, tilting her head to the side.

"I'm sure of it."

"I'll be back then, I promise I won't take to long." She said before departing out of the woods and into the little market as she began to look around for something that was affordable and that she could get large quantities of with the bit of money she brought with her before leaving her home.

Orkos went over to the log to wait for Elizabeth's return, with a small sigh, as he kept a lookout for any passing mortals who may spot him.

Elizabeth came up to a sweet old woman, selling a couple of quilts, maybe she could get some for tonight so her and Orkos could have a better rest, since she knew their location didn't really have any proper sleeping areas for them to rest.

"Hello!" She said politely greeting the old woman, "Welcome sweetheart, how may I help you." The old woman said while a small smile formed on her face, "I was wondering how much your quilts are?" Elizabeth asked. "Oh, they're ten denarius' each." The old woman responded, "Wow okay let's see here... I'll take two please." She said, sorting out the silver pennies in her little pouch, then handing them to her, "Here you go my dear, enjoy." The old woman said, handing Elizabeth two quilts over the stand, already neatly folded up. "Why thank you m'am, have a lovely day." Elizabeth said before wandering off to find a stand that sold food.

After a bit of time passed of Elizabeth going from stand to stand, picking out some sweet fruits and a couple of baked goods of course, she returned back into the trees where she found Orkos sitting on the log, minding his own business. "I'm back!" She said delighted to see him again.

"Oh perfect, uh, do you need a hand?" He asked standing up as he noticed her having her arms full with all sorts of random things.

"Yes please, that would be very thoughtful of you, I should've probably brought my basket before I left home, too late now though." She explained while, Orkos began picking food off the top of her pile that she was surprisingly able to stack.

"Come on, let's go, the quicker we walk, the better it will be so we don't have to walk blindly at night, it's not that much longer." She explained, speed walking away knowing where she was heading off too.

"Ah, Okay, after you I guess." He said rushing after her, trying to pick up any fruit she dropped on the ground while she continued to change directions, twisting in between trees and all that, eventually they'd probably have to find a body of water was wash some of the dirt off.

The sun began to lower in the sky after a few hours of walking past and up ahead presented a large old bricked building, standing tall within the distance, "There it is!" Elizabeth exclaimed as she began to walk even faster, almost running at this point, "Thank god." Orkos mumbled, carrying half of what she dropped from earlier plus what he took from her before they continued off, trying to match her pace.

She stood before these huge wooden doors as she stared at it in awe, Orkos now panting as her ran up next to her, "This is it. The library. It's abandoned of course so nobody will bother us, it's very old from what I can tell, I used to come here all the time when I was little but I guest they forgot about it and left it be since it was so far from other villages and not many people would come." She explained glancing over at Orkos who struggled to carry everything he was holding, "Wait where did you-? Oh! Sorry, let me help you with that!" She said noticing the weight in her arms dropped drastically from a while ago.

Just as they got everything sorted outside, they creaked the large wooden doors open to reveal walls and shelves of books. It was hard to tell how many must of been in there. There was a second floor, well more of a balcony surrounding the top to look at higher books, and long ladders were present to reach them. "Isn't it amazing." She said looking around the room, setting the pile of necessities on the front desk while Orkos did the same.

"Yeah, looks great." He said turning around as he approached a dusty shelf, taking a book off, sliding his hand over the cover to get any more dust off it. He then opened it up and looked inside to see sentences and paragraphs of words printed on the pages.

"So, you gain knowledge from these?" He asked, flipping through the novel.

"You can for sure, they're also used to tell stories, like fairytales and all that. Those are the ones I enjoy." She explained.

"I see." Orkos set the book down noticing that the room was very dim, due to having no light but there were lots and lots of candles present in the room yet he didn't know what they were for so he didn't mention anything.

But Elizabeth knew that they needed at least a bit of light source and she knew where the librarian kept the matches from a long time ago. She opened the front desk a found a leftover box of matches with three left inside.

She struck the match against the side of the box a few times, creating enough friction to ignite it.

Elizabeth began walking around, lighting as many candles until the match burned out, using the next to continued, Orkos from a distance watch incuriosity mumbling, "Oh so that's what those are for." When he noticed the room slowly lighting itself. Once all the matches were used up, Elizabeth used one flame from another candle to light a few more in a certain area before feeling satisfied with the job well done.

She placed her hands on her hips, turning around to see Orkos, still staring at her, saying, "I guess this is our new home. So, welcome home Orkos!"
