๐ฌlong the way, secrets were kept hidden, mostly on Orkos' side of things, yet he didn't receive any strange visits from all powerful gods or have any strange hallucinations anymore. It wasn't til then, more years had past, Orkos received the news that he was going to have a daughter or son. Of course he was shocked, Elizabeth seemed overly excited but he wasn't sure about it, what if the baby turned out to look like him? Would it be brought into this world and instantly be brought into this life where it's has to live being attacked by mortals who see it as a monster? It would be his fault was what he thought.
Elizabeth had no worries at all, she always wanted a child to care and nurture for, she finally had the chance to create a new loving family where she'd live the rest of her life with.
One day the two were in the kitchen where Orkos sat at the table while Elizabeth continued to make lunch over the stove, "Elizabeth..." Orkos began with his head in his hands as his elbows rested gently on the table, "...are you sure everything's going to be alright?" He asked as she turned around to look at him, instantly knowing what he was implying here, "Orkos, you're going to be a great father, no doubt. There's nothing to be so worried about. I know everything can be scary at first, but I'll always be with you at your side to help out, we'll do this together." She explained to him along with a sweet smile.
"Yeah. You're right, sorry for worrying so much. This will all be fine, I'm sure of it." He said quietly, still thinking to himself about all this.
Nine Months Later...
The baby was finally born after one crazy night of panic from mostly Orkos but everything seemed to have ran smoothly. They had a baby girl and after planning on a couple of names for the baby on prior dates of the year, they decided to go with Orabelle.
Elizabeth was laying in bed tiredly with the baby in her arms, wrapped up in a small blanket. Orkos pacing back and fourth in the corner, even though he had months to go over this with himself, he didn't really prepare for all that, "That's a lot of work just for a baby... wow." He muttered to himself as Elizabeth looked up at him smiling.
"Do you wanna hold her?" Elizabeth asked him causing him to stop dead in his tracks, "Um, I'm not to sure Elizabeth." He said looking over at her, "Oh come on, I'm sure she'll be happy to see you." Elizabeth mentioned.
Orkos sighed, approaching the two, "Alright, Fine, I'm sorry if something goes wrong in advance." Orkos said apologizing just in case he got startled and perhaps lit the baby on fire, not really knowing what genes she adapted from who, maybe she was fine when it came to fire but he didn't know that, he didn't want to drop her either which in his mind was still very bad.
He held out his arms as Elizabeth placed Orabelle into his arms. The baby seemed to have got one of his eyes and by one I mean that the babies left eye had a purple iris with a black sclera and matching purple markings running down her eye to her cheek, similar to his. And the baby's other eye was simply a dark brown as he didn't know who she got that from knowing that her mother's eyes were blue but it appeared to be a common gene in humans having brown eyes. Though overall a sweet little baby.
Orabelle eyes were staring up into her father's as Orkos looked back at her, this baby was his own, something that was offered into the world and would immediately love him back without no hesitation and it was one of the best feeling to ever feel in his entire life.
Six Years Later...
Orkos was now often leaving the house during the daytime now so he didn't really seemed to be with Orabelle and Elizabeth too much, but they didn't let the feeling bug them, he was off on his own now, so they let him leave if whatever he was off doing was worth leaving.
Also another ground rule that Elizabeth and Orkos set for Orabelle was that she wasn't allowed to go outside, it was dangerous for someone like her and with Orkos not really hiding his presence anymore, he was getting some threatening looked from the people around town and of course, Elizabeth didn't want that for Orabelle so Elizabeth acted like Orabelle's mother and her only friend for the time being, she knew that it was wrong to keep her in there, even after Orabelle had asked many times to go outside, she didn't want her to feel immediately unloved by the world, simply for her appearance.
Elizabeth was brushing out Orabelle's dark hair that resembled her own one as Orabelle innocently sat there on the stood swinging her let's back and forth, "Honey, you don't mind that your father isn't around so much do you?" She asked her out of the blue, the feeling kinda bothering her, just finally wanting to know what she thought, "Not really! Daddy is sometimes here when he can right?" Orabelle said.
Elizabeth knew she was too young to understand and didn't know why she bothered asking, "Right... of course. Anyways sweetheart, want to bake something after I'm done brushing out your hair?" She asked, cheering back up, not wanting the mood to be too sad. "Yeah!" Orabelle beamed with excitement.
Finally, Five Years Later...
Their daughter watched both Orkos and Elizabeth enter and exit the house with ease, taking turns watching her whenever they had to leave the house, Elizabeth staying home most of the time, her mother being human was helpful since she wasn't looked down upon and everyone was too afraid to tell her father otherwise but didn't bother treating him like a real person either, it was harder for Orabelle since she was so young. Thing did get harder for sure, when a rare disease began spreading around their village which would slowly end up killing the person, once you had it, there was no cure for it. For Elizabeth that is, was one of the unlucky townsfolk to receive the virus.
Orabelle was now eleven years old, "Mother, I don't want to you leave me." Orabelle said, talking to her sleepy mother who was at the edge of her death bed, "Don't worry Orabelle, there's no need to cry, I'll always be with you no matter what... promise me that you won't ever let someone bring you down just because you're different alright. I'll be there to defend you forever, and you can talk to me whenever you like because I'll always be there to listen. I love you Ora." She spoke weakly, as Orabelle held in a sob, "I love you too." She returned her love using those simple words as she wrapped her arms around her mother, resting her head on her chest, hearing her mother's heartbeat steadily holding onto life.
"And one more thing Ora, keep this promise locked away in your heart forever, whenever you find someone, a friend, a stranger or even someone you end up falling in love with, promise me that you'll always forgive them, even if they have done as much harm to you as possible, always do your best to change their heart in return, people always do things for a reason, it's not always their fault okay. That doesn't mean you need to let them keep harming you, just do your best to stay safe a protect yourself from them, and protect them from themselves." Elizabeth explained to her, kissing her gently on the forehead.
Orkos came into the room after, asking Orabelle, "Can you please leave the room Ora? I need to talk to your mother." He struggled to hide the pain filling his voice. Orabelle nodded, giving Elizabeth a small kiss on the cheek before leaving the room and off to her own.
Orkos knelt down next to the bed as tears began dripping down the side of his face, "Elizabeth, I know this may sound stupid but please I'm begging you, fight through this. It's too early for you to go. I knew at some point I'd have to watch you go but this is too much for me." He plead, burying his face into the side of the blanket that gently laid over top of her.
"Orkos, we know that won't be able to happen, sadly my time has come. Please don't cry, I want to see your wonderful smile one last time. Listen, I want you to give our daughter the world alright? Don't leave anything out of your love, I know it may be hard, but we've made it this far, right?" She said weakly, brushing her hand through his hair as he looked up at her laughing a bit, still crying, "I don't understand how you can be so positive at a time like this. I promise Elizabeth. I love you." He said and for the first time in a while he was able to drift off to sleep at her side. "Goodnight Orkos. Love you too." She said closing her eyes.
The next day was painful for both Orabelle and Orkos. Orabelle woke up to the screams of her mother's name coming from her father, she was dead, she was gone. This sudden moment changed Orkos, he thought to fill the empty void in his heart, he had to result back to more violence and letting people suffer the agonizing pain he felt.
The first thing he did was lash out at Orabelle, he knew it was wrong but it was what he was feeling in the moment, "She's gone Ora! Why did she have to leave us!? This is all your fault!" Orkos said his hands lighting up with bright white flames while Orabelle cried, "I'm sorry!" She said as her father continued to blame her for her mother's death when she had nothing to do with it. Orkos was saying things he didn't mean to her until he had enough, "You should of died instead of her..." he said before leaving her alone in her room as he slammed the door loudly behind him.
Orkos then left the house, he didn't even want to set foot on this miserable earth anymore, he had to take his anger out on somebody, he just had to. As he exited the house, he was able to grab a kitchen knife on his way out, while he received stares from other townsfolk out front, glancing at the first person he saw, with this crazed look in his eye, he rushed over to the grabbing them by the hair and pinning them down to the ground as screams erupted from the crowd and others fled the scene with their children.
Orkos ended up stabbing the victim multiple times until he was satisfied with the results as blood drained out of the skull of this innocent person enjoying their time with their family until Orkos had to interrupt, waiting for the black cloud to consume down into his throat but nothing of that sorts happened. He heard in the distance several people come marching with pitchforks and weapons of their own, "Kill it! Kill the monster!" They chanted as the found him.
Orkos didn't have time, he dropped he knife and ran, what was happening to him, he was supposed to consume the insanity of one after parting with death, it was impossible for one to not be in the slightest insane, even if they didn't know it, it always lurked in the back of someone's mind.
The demon ran as fast as he could once he made it to the five encircling trees as he dived down to grab his book, messily ripping out a page and putting in back under the roots to remain hidden.
As he heard the crowd of angry townsfolk following him, he quickly burned up the page and was consumed by the opening that lead him back to a world of his own, filled with nothing but a constant infinity of darkness. Once he planted his feet on solids ground, panting slightly, he fell to the ground, holding his head in panic, "Something is wrong. Why didn't it work!?" He yelled.
And as simple as that, the voice returned, that constant reminding voice telling him that he was never good enough, echoed through the realm, "It didn't work because you don't hold the power anymore dear Orkos. I told you a long time ago, your glory would be passed down, your daughter now possess it, she's the one who will live up to your dreams weather you like it or not..."
She holds the power now...
