Chapter 4
•Kacey's POV•
I woke up the next morning and smiled. I was actually pregnant. I was so happy. Then, the morning sickness had to kick in and ruin the moment. I ran to the bathroom and threw up. That's a great way to start my day. Note the sarcasm.
I started to feel better after 10 minutes and got up. I walked out of the bathroom and saw Lucas still sleeping. I decided to be a nice wife and cook him breakfast. I was in the process of making French toast when Lucas came up and surprised me from behind.
I jumped a little as his arms snaked around my waist. He started to laugh and I just frowned at him. When the French toast was finished we started eating. "How are you feeling?" Lucas asked me.
"Just your normal morning sickness during pregnancy. Nothing more," I told him. "Ok," Lucas said. I was eating my last piece of French toast when the doorbell rang. I got up and opened the door. There were flowers in a vase on the mat. I picked them up and brought them inside.
"Who was there?" Lucas asked. "No one, just some random flowers," I said. "Hey, look there's a note," Lucas said pointing towards a note. I picked it up and read it.
I'm back.
-George
I dropped the card and fell to the floor crying. All the memories of what George did to me haunted me. "What's wrong?" Lucas asked concerned. "The flowers.. Note.. George," I sobbed. Lucas's face dropped and he picked up the card to read it.
I then remembered the baby. I cried harder. "What if he tries to harm me or you or the baby?" I sobbed. "Don't worry, I won't let him," Lucas said as he hugged me close to him.
"Hello! I have arrived! Let the party begin!" Lottie yelled as she walked into our house. I laughed but continued to cry. "Woah, what's wrong?" Lottie asked as she noticed that I was crying.
I handed her the card and her face went white. She dropped it and whispered, "George." I nodded my head. "I'm going to go home to Jack. I.. I need to be with him right now," Lottie said.
She ran out before I could tell her that I was pregnant. I wanted to tell her first, she was my best friend. But, I understand, she needs to be with someone who can protect her while he is here.
She left and I cried into Lucas's arms. This was turning out to be an awful day.

"Thank you officer," Lucas said over the phone. We had decided to call the police and tell them about what had happened a couple of years ago and how we were afraid he would hurt us.
"Well, what did he say?" I asked. "He said that George is on parole right now and that they would keep a close eye on him," Lucas said smiling. I felt so much safer knowing that the police would watch him. I went to sleep that night happy, that was until I had my dream.
*dream begins*
"Hello?" I asked. I was in my house and Lucas was no where to be found. I heard crying and ran out of my bedroom. The crying was coming from another room. I opened the door and saw a little girl sitting in her crib crying.
I picked her up and tried to stop her from crying. As soon as she saw my face she stopped. She had brown hair like me and Lucas's smile. Is this my daughter?
I heard a gunshot from downstairs and started to run down the stairs, the girl still in my arms. I saw nothing but then I saw a figure outside in the rain. I opened the door scared. I saw a man standing above a bunch of dead bodies.
I cried when I noticed one of the dead bodies was Lucas. The rest, I noticed, were police officers. No, please say this isn't George. The man turned around with a gun in his hand. It was George.
He laughed evilly and snapped his fingers. Instantly, the girl was in his hands. "No, please don't hurt her," I cried. "This is what you get for taking everything from me. You get your husband dead, your daughter dead, and soon you can join them," George laughed.
He shot my daughter and I cried as he tossed her to the ground. He then slowly started walking over to me. "Please, just leave me alone," I begged. He shook his head no and held up the gun. He pulled the trigger and I felt the pain rush over me. Soon, I had blacked out.
*dream ends*
I woke up crying. I turned to where Lucas was usually and didn't see him there. I screamed hoping this was just another dream and that I would wake up with Lucas right next to me. "Kacey!" I heard Lucas yell.
He came running into the room and hugged me tightly. I couldn't stop my ragged breaths. "What happened?" He asked.
"I had a dream. You were in it but George had killed you and a bunch of police officers. We had a daughter and he took her and killed her in front of me. Then he killed me. I woke up and you were gone so I started panicking thinking you were either dead or this was a dream," I explained.
Lucas looked over at me and said, "I only went to the bathroom. But, don't worry I'm here right now and I won't leave you. Not ever." He held me tight and I put my head back down on the pillow. I cuddled into Lucas's arms and fell back into a dreamless sleep.
