It's been a month since I met my real parents and brother. Today, they were going to meet my family.

I was making food when I heard the doorbell ring. I opened the door and saw my mom and dad with Lucy, Jake, and Max.

"Mom! Dad! Lucy! Jake! Max!" I said as I hugged them all.

They came in and mom helped me make dinner while we waited on Ma and Pa.

I heard the doorbell ring and I went and saw Ma and Pa with Matt.

Matt ran in and started talking to Lucy.

Ma and Pa came in and Ma helped make dinner while Pa talked to dad.

Lottie, Jack, and Lucas came downstairs and we all sat down to eat.

Mom started talking about me when I was a kid and I saw Ma staring at her angrily.

Oh no.

"Well, maybe if you hadn't adopted her we would have gotten to watch her grow up," Ma said.

Mom stopped talking and started to mess around with the food on her plate.

Dad's jaw clenched and Pa smiled happily.

They all started arguing and I felt my eyes fill with tears.

I just wanted a good family meal with my family.

I got up and slammed my hands on the table.

"I want all of you to calm down. I wanted a nice family meal and you!" I said as I turned to Ma.

"You aren't my mother, Jen is," I said.

"Yes I am, Jen is not. You are my daughter and I never want you to see them again," Ma said.

Everyone went silent. I saw moms eyes fill with tears.

I slapped Ma and yelled in her face, "You don't get to say anything! You left me and now I'm leaving you!"

I stormed out and my family, not Ma, Pa, and Matt, came with me.

They all stared at me and Lottie asked, "Why did you slap her?"

I smirked and replied, "I guess George rubbed off on me."

I walked away into the forest and left everyone behind me shocked about what I had just said.
