The Bus
I groaned as I walked into the bus with my heavy luggage. Why did Notch make me pack so much? I plopped somewhere into a spot in the comfortable travel bus on the left side. I glanced over at the other side and brightened. A human! Now, we can have fun with this, can we not? I shook my head and laughed to myself thinking how it would sound to others.
Notch was next to the human by the window, rapidly typing a string of code on his laptop. That's normal for him. In front of me his twin plopped down. Steve and Notch looked nothing alike. Sadly my sister, Ember, was not able to come on the tour of the U.S. even though she was the smartest person on the planet at her age. This bus trip was for really smart kids. The human next to me turned his head over. He offered me his hand.
"Hi, I'm Nick," he said shyly. I shook his hand. "I'm Ech-" I cut myself off. Echo, seriously? That would arouse questions. "Emma," I completed. Suddenly, the air on the bus got cold. Nick seemed to notice it too. Of course, it would be Herobrine. He stalked down the aisle way silently, with shades on to hide his white, cold, glowing eyes. He looked the exact same as Steve, but wore a black leather jacket. I got lost into my thoughts but jerked as Nick spoke up to ease the silence. Crap.
"I'm Nick, you?" He offered his hand to Herobrine. He seemed to glare at it. The silence was stiff and uncomfortable. "Hayden," he whispered, and shook his hand. He went to sit next to Steve who acted like this was normal and nothing happened. The bus started up and began driving. Thank goodness it was a self-driving bus. I never trust people driving the car, or bus for me.
I huffed and took out my iPad. I acted as though I was reading but never flipped the page, daydreaming. Herobrine coughed. Everyone on the bus other than Notch, still programming, and Steve, making what looked like a piston, stiffened and looked up at him like he was about to say something. He continued staring through the seat in front of him. I licked my dry lips nervously, rubbing my face. I hoped my scales were not coming out. That would suck.
"Uh.. Do any of you play video games or stuff?" Notch immediately snapped his attention to Nick. "Yes! Of course!" Nick looked relieved and the bus soon filled up with everyone talking to each other; Notch (claiming he was named Mark) and Nick about Minecraft, me and Steve about random things, and the radio of the bus playing electronic music. Herobrine, however, was still staring at the back of the seat in front of him. There were scorch marks on the place his eyes were fixed and he was starting to emit heat I could feel.
Steve poked him. "Jeez, cool down, what did the seat ever do to you?" Herobrine shook his head and muttered a sorry. He flicked his finger and the scorch marks were gone. Luckily for us, Nick had noticed. I inwardly cursed. "Woah. Cool magic trick! Can you do more?" Herobrine rubbed his shoulder. He was heating up again and you could begin to notice the white light coming from his eyes from the edges from his shades. He began smoking. Literally. There was gray smoke spiraling off of his arms but surprisingly left no smell. "Cool," Nick observed, thinking this was another trick. I prepared myself for an explosion. Herobrine had real anger issues, especially when it came to humans. There were flames dancing among him, off of his jacket, his hair, but didn't spread. The radio was cut off and a cool female voice announced; "Prepare for self destruction." I chuckled as the voice began counting down. Everyone was back to normal other than the voice on the radio counting down and a confused Nick. "104, 103, 102, 101," the voice continued counting down. Nick was rather pale so I leaned toward him.
"You okay? You seem quite pale. I don't believe the bus will actually self-destruct. It's just Steve messing around with the thing he's building, gesturing to the cube piston he was playing with. Nick looked at the thing. "That's a piston from Minecraft," he declared. Steve nodded slowly. "89, 88, 87," the radio reported cooly.
Herobrine smirked at Nick, making him paler than he already was. I shivered. I could feel my scales really coming out now. Thank goodness none on my face yet, but they were coming out on my hands. I pulled a blanket out of my backpack next to me and covered myself with it. One slowly grew on my forehead underneath my black bangs. I could feel my teeth sharpening. Frick, I thought. Just what I need. Nick looked over at me, concerned. "Are you okay?" I glowered at him, noticing my scathing personality that came this this change was growing. "I'm fine," I hissed. Nick was taken aback by this. My wings were growing. Will you freaking stop it, I yelled at myself mentally. I managed to ungrow my wings and scales while attempting to look like I was trying to sleep. I relaxed and began thinking. "4, 3, 2," the speakers brodcasted. Here comes the fun, I thought sacrastically, as Nick cleared his throat.
