Ch 3: Photograph

Third person's point of view

"Your agency has already issued a statement." Gakushu says, scrolling through his cellphone for local reports. "Seems like they waited a few days for you guys to be settled in your homes."

BREAKING NEWS!

Apex Entertainment announces temporary hiatus for our goddesses! Please rest well lovelies 😭

'Hatsune Miku recently visited a hospital for consultation after noticing abnormal symptoms such as heart palpitations and stuffiness. Thus, we will suspend her activities for a meantime to focus on her health. This shall also be applied to Asano Ginka, who is in need of surgery due to scarring vocal cords. The doctor has deemed that her current medications are not enough and needs rest for the time being. However, Yumemite Yumemi still wishes to continue her idol activities and would remain active until then. She is not to accept heavy job offers and would have a more flexible schedule as she is also granted a break just like the other members.'

Can't wait for C3LESTIA comeback! We'll always be here waiting for you 🫶

"How outrageous. They're waiting for another comeback that just released after your break. Your fans must really see you as robots." Gakushu rolls his eyes in sarcasm.

It was convenient for them to delay notifying the public this way. They managed to make it to the hospital at ease, or the very least, under disguises.

Perhaps published exactly when they parted ways, fans would have been swarming the airport and followed them around knowing where they are. All three of them have already recorded a video informing their status in advance so the agency could just have it uploaded along with the statement.

"By the way, what were their thoughts of you going to school?" Surely, this as been discussed with them. They must have some sort of contract.

"They were quite reluctant at the idea but there are other idols like Yume-nee who does so the very least they have respected my wishes. They would only be troubled if I were to neglect idol work." She continues reading off the lecture books she claimed upon enrollment, "Though I am still unsure if I am to continue my studies until the end or revert back to homeschool. If I were to impress father and change our lives by the first semester, perhaps I might drop."

"Quite a big goal you got there for a short time frame."

"Well, I don't believe it's entirely impossible." Ginka twists the highlighter on her fingers and sighs, "I only wish father to look a different way which would also allow mother's heart to come back to us. Besides, I dream to attend junior high and experience such school life. It's two birds with one stone!"

"I already told you, those two are beyond saving."

With brows furrowed, she sets down the book on her lap, "Why must you set someone's limitations like that? Humankind is always very capable of much more."

"That is if they have the will to do so. And that is directed towards other ideals," Gakushu argues.

"It's so easy to criticize, but sometimes we have to understand the reasons of why they have become that way. Father's actions are driven by grief while mother is under the effects of social pressure," She says with a sad sigh, "It explains why they cannot acknowledge me as someone good enough for their liking. I heard that society often perceives the worth of a child will also be a parent's own. They must be upset that I only demean them."

"You said it yourself. Those are just reasons. It's not an excuse for them to act the way they are. You are not responsible for their healing." Gakushu scoffs, "If they cannot even recognize your strengths as it is, then they are the ones who aren't worth it."

"Aww, that's really sweet!" Ginka gushes and playfully hits his arm, "Worry not. I hope more than anything for this family to experience such love like any other. Then all four of us can finally be truly happy.."

Or what she only viewed what true happiness is supposed to look like. She refuses to take in any of her brother's advice, trying to hold more than she can take.

He wants to be angry with Ginka. But also wants to pave the way for her. Such conflicting feelings frustrate him. Both choices could bring her pain. Would helping her really be worth the gamble? Or would she end up realizing that none was worth it and just lose much more meaningful things to that?

He has yet to decide.

Ginka could tell his expressions are getting grim and out of it so she clasps her hands together to catch his attention, "Regardless, would it be too late if I were to participate in the running for student council?"

He sighs. I guess he would just let this situation be for now and observe which course of action would be best. "Votings ended two weeks ago since classes are already around the corner. Might as well just run for class representative."

"Aw, there goes my speedy rise the academic ranks."

It's their second day of reuniting and it's been long since they last saw each other. They talked more for a while to catch up. There were definitely a lot of things to tell. While they do keep in touch via social media, having those kinds of conversations in person just hits different. Ginka spoke of their group's achievements and how grateful she was that they managed so far, travelling for a nationwide tour which also includes performing at Tokyo dome, every idol's dream. Meanwhile, Gakushu expressed his pride in his expanded connections, allowing him to make an even greater name for himself in the business industry.

The Asano lineage screamed power. A force to be reckoned with. It would be wise for others not to cross them or they would be devoured.

The surgery was scheduled that day so Ginka had been taken to the operating room and had her under anesthesia there. It would be the last time she hears her voice after a week.

She awakens the next morning with Gakushu on her side. He had his uniform delivered to the hospital since he couldn't leave her alone. However, he does need to eventually for a student council meeting in preparation for the first day of school.

The medical team monitors her condition and provides post-operative care to manage pain. She no longer needed an IV being able to swallow and breathe comfortably. She could be discharged within the day after a few observations.

"Absolute bed rest! No talking, got it?"

Her throat was in pain. Even if she wants to, she cannot.

"I'll be back in a few hours. If you need something, call for the nurse." He was referring to the red button by her bed. "Message me if its something to be bought outside and I'll get it for you. Don't wander around."

Did she listen? No.

A short while after he left, Ginka passed time by studying again. She's well aware that she's lacking in terms of academics so she ought to put the effort. Her goal for reaching Class A doesn't change.

Yet she felt like wanting to get a drink. She does have some water that Gakushu brought which was quite a lot, but her mouth was finding something different. She didn't feel like bothering the nurses over something like this, as she was originally advised.

And so she leaves her room herself, tucking her hair in a beanie to avoid attention.

Ginka took the lift to the ground floor. She skipped her way all giddy as she reaches the vending machine and inserts the coin for soya milk. Little did she know, something scandalous was about to take place as she walks back.

"Ojou-chan, coming through!"

A sudden voice startled her to look into its direction, eyes shot wide open to see a guy her age sliding through the stair railings as if the hospital was his personal playground. It looked like he lost control upon being distracted which made him lose balance on his course.

That's where her instincts kicked in. She would not have enough time to dodge with how fast he was going and a safe landing is highly unlikely with how he was trying to avoid her.

So she added pressure on her feet to stay in place and used all her arm strength to grab ahold of him after reaching the end of the railings. One would be perplexed to see this princess carry the other way around.

The force was so strong that she dropped on her knees with the pressure of human weight. Her beanie was sent flying away, allowing her strawberry blonde hair swiftly fall to her back with a few strands on the sides of her face as she looks at him.

The redheaded in her arms was stunned to see how she was able to catch him in ease. Well, not really since she felt somewhat pain upon the impact. She could feel the strain in her arms and friction on her lower extremities.

If it weren't for her practice of archery that strengthened her upper body, she would have felt as if her arms were being ripped off.

Ginka's grip loosens on his body with a smile. How pretty.. those mercury eyes of his, she thought.

She was about to speak until she felt the pain from her throat. Right, no talking. A lightbulb appeared over her head and quickly types in her phone, ["That was quite reckless of you, no?"]

Karma got goosebumps. Her eyes immediately drew him in. That of those that did not merely illuminated stars, but shines just as beautiful that of a galaxy. The kind of aura so glowing that simply gazing at her leaves you mesmerized.

It's natural talent for one to have that kind of charisma. He didn't even spare a glance on her phone being so focused on her alone.

"Quite." Embarrassing as it is, he was rather impressed with the stunt she just pulled. "Cool."

Ginka couldn't help but laugh with how they both got themselves in such a concerning situation. She looked back at him teasingly, showing her screen again.

["I believe a photograph of mine would be more convenient if you wish to stare at me longer, don't you think so?"]
