31 - Final Chapter

"I wanted to come and live in the palace, but it was always you. My mother told me how father treated her. He tricked her into believing he was not married and she fell in love with him. I grew up without his love. Everything I ever did was always wrong in his eyes but never you. He boasted about you to everyone but was I ever acknowledged? No! I was the bastard prince. The one that was forgotten. Yes I never lacked anything in my life, the best schools money could send me to I was provided with but never his love," he spat as he looked at his brother with hatred.

He was surprised when Munya started to laugh at his words.

"Brother, you think father did not love you? Bring him to my study," he ordered as he turned on his heel walking back into the palace. "Leave us," he stated as the guards looked worried. "He won't do anything," he smiled as the men took their leave.

Turning to a cabinet he pulled out a file.

"The reason why you could not stay in the palace was because of the nature of your birth. Your mother was never tricked but she is the one who tricked father into having an affair with her. He loved us both equally," he said turning to hand over the file to his brother. "She is the one who used you as a means of maintaining a constant supply of money into her account by keeping you way from father. If you had bothered to do proper research you would have seen the court papers when he tried to gain custody of you," he added as Simba opened the file to view the documents.

"He never told mother that he had people watching you as all your sporting activities are recorded. Each game you went to he had it recorded. Each achievement documented," he said as he opened a video to show Simba receiving a trophy. Even I have my own folder. You say he was in my life more, but you forget the country came first. Even though it came first it seems he took some time to watch our achievements and experience them the best way he could. He loved you Simba, so I don't see what the fuss is all about because I have done you not wrong and so has my wife," he said as he watched his brother break down right before his very eyes.

Opening another door he retrieved a robe as he went and handed it over to Simba who looked at him in question.

"One thing my wife has taught me which makes me know why I love her is her forgiving heart. I know for a fact she has already forgiven you. I will follow her footsteps and do the same brother. Too much blood has already been spilled. I ask you do the same and forgive your own mother, but most of all forgive yourself," he said before walking out of the office.

--------

"I need you to not give your mother a hard time," she heard him whisper as she opened her eyes to find him laying his head on her belly as he continued to murmur more words before kissing her stomach as he placed a protective hand over it. Quickly shutting her eyes to pretend as though she was still asleep she felt his breath upon her cheek.
"Hmmm how to wake up a person who is already awake," he whispered against her lips before claiming them in a tender kiss that had her opening her eyes to look into his. "Good evening," he said with a smile.
"I really wouldn't mind being woken up like this," she smiled before wrapping her arms around his neck pulling him towards her. "Good evening my love," she said as he kissed her once more.

"Have you spoken to your brother?" she asked as he moved to sit up.

Sitting up she moved closer to him feeling how tense  he was.

"Darling," she murmured turning his head so she could look into his eyes. Cupping his face in her hands she simply said his name seeing him relax slightly. "Talk to me," she whispered.

"We spoke at length. It seems we are alike in more ways than one. An example is our taste in women," he said with a chuckle as she frowned at this. "I'm sorry baby," he said releasing a long sighed. "I'm so sorry," he murmured as tears ran down his face.

Pulling him into her arms he consoled him as he let out all his pain. Clearly he had kept a lot bottled up. Laying down she held him in her arms until he felt better. She knew what his tears where for, regret over what had happened to her. All the pain they had gone through, but now a new chapter was what they needed to work on, for the sake of their family.

"You are going to have to wash your face if you want the staff to tremble when they see you," she murmured as he looked into her eyes seeing laughter in them.

"I'm going to need some help," he said with a sly smile as he got up and helped her out of bed.

"Go wash your face," she said with a playful shove as he walked away sulking.

Returning from the bathroom he found her straightening her robe. Turning to face him she smiled seeing his own falter as a wave of dizziness overcame her. Rushing to help her sit down he reached for the glass of water helping her drink it.

"I will have some food brought up," he said looking worried.

"Okay," she said as they heard a knock.

Going to open the door he found a maid with a cart that had their supper. Relieving the girl of her duties he pulled the cart into their room and set up their dinner. As they enjoyed their meal another knock interupted them.

"Come in!" his voice boomed.

Looking towards the entrance of their dining area he saw Simba standing before them looking dejected and about to pass out.

"You should be resting brother," Munya said looking away from him not the least bothered by his state as he focused on his meal.

"I cannot rest until she forgives me," he said taking a step towards them. Going down on his knees he could not even bring himself to face Rudo as she looked from him to her husband who seemed to not be paying attention.

Standing up from her seat she ignored how tense her husband became in that instance as he stopped eating gripping the fork and knife as though the utensils had done him wrong. Standing before the prince she carefully went down on her knees as he slowly raised his head to look at her.

"I forgive you brother in law," she whispered as he broke down in tears.

Smiling she gave him a hug before she allowed Munya to help her up. helping his brother up he pulled him into his arms as Rudo watched the two.

"May I finish my meal now?" she said as both men turned to her with a chuckle.

"Of course love. Forgive us," Munya smiled reaching for her hand as he led her to her seat. Asking his brother to join them he was not surprised when his  mother showed up a few minutes later having heard what was happening.

Enjoying their meal as a family Rudo simply wore a smile thinking this is how it should be. The only people missing where Nash and Munashe who were fast asleep by then.

A few months later

"You need to be off your feet love," he growled as he leaned back in his seat.

"I just wanted to drop by and see you," she snapped her response.

He smiled knowing how temperamental she had become the past few weeks.

"How is your afternoon love. Have you had lunch?" he asked walking towards her.

"I am tired. I just want these babies out of me and I am hungry," she said as he stopped in front of her a bright smile plastered on his face.

"Just a few more days and we will meet our little angels," he said pulling her into his arms. "Can I greet my wife properly now before you complain some more?"

Looking up at him she frowned as he leaned towards her. Touching her lips with his he smiled as she responded to him against her own will. Leaving her breathless he looked at her as she looked worried.

"Oh gosh, not now," she whispered as she looked down.

"I knew I could make you relax with a kiss, but not to this extent," he said with a smirk as she stepped away from him.

"My water broke you idiot!" she cried out.

He looked at her confused before it dawned on him. Taking her hand he led her out of the office telling her to remain calm.

"Do I look like I am not calm right now?" she said angrily as he took out his phone from his pocket as she stopped in her tracks breathing through the contraction.

Reaching their car he winced in pain as she gripped his hand tightly as a painful contraction hit her. "Baby, baby, baby, my hand," he cried out.

"You are crying over your hand. My body feels like its being ripped apart and you cry over your hand! Useless man! It is all your fault!" she screamed as pedestrians passed by seeing Munya trying to help his wife into the car. Looking at the driver he saw panic written all over his face as he held his hat in his hands as he waited to close the door.

"I'm sorry love, just breathe," he said looking afraid before he yelled for his driver to move fast.

"I hate you for this Munya. You did this to me!" she cried as he tried to help her remain calm feeling useless at exact moment.

---------

"Your highness you need to wear the proper attire first," the doctor informed Munya once they reached the hospital.

"And don't you even dare come in here or else I will castrate you with my bare hands!" Rudo yelled as he became pale upon hearing her threat. Knowing it was the stress talking he rushed to get dressed before joining her in the reserved room.

He was glad they had cleared the floor just that very week in preparation.

"Can you not give her something for the pain?" he growled as a nurse walked into the room with a bowl of ice.

"She refused your highness," the nurse said looking terrified.

Looking towards his wife he grabbed a towel wiping away the sweat on her forehead as he rubbed her back when another contraction came.

----------

"Where are my children and husband?" she asked in a tired voice as soon a she woke up seeing Gareth in the room.

"The King will be here shortly with the little ones," Gareth said with a smile.

Just then the door opened and she smiled seeing Munya walking into the room. Behind him three nurses followed each pushing a pram. Reaching her bed he didn't say anything but simply kissed her as if his life depended on it. Resting his forehead against hers he greeted her with a simple, "Hey love." Stroking his cheek she leaned towards him greeting him back before someone cleared their throat as they were pulled back to reality.

Reaching into the first pram Munya handed the baby to her as she smiled looking at the sleeping prince.

"Tadiwa," she whispered looking at the sleeping baby before she looked up at her husband who nodded in approval.

"For my little princess I was thinking Ruvarashe," he smiled as she agreed. "And for this little guy, Nyasha," he said as Simba held the third baby in his arms.

Watching her closely as she nursed their son, he saw how tired she was before he asked the nurse to take the child away. Leaving the room to make sure the children where settled he returned to find her not in bed.

Opening the bathroom door he found her washing her hands. Standing behind her she leaned into him for support as she slowly sighed when he took over helping her rinse the soap off her hands.

"I'm sorry for what I said earlier," she whispered.

"There is no need to apologize. I should be worshiping the ground you walk," he murmured. "Thank you love, for everything," he whispered into her ear as she closed her eyes relaxing.  "Beautiful," he whispered as she opened her eyes to see him looking at her via the mirror.

Reaching for a towel he helped her dry her hands before he helped her into bed.

"When are we going home?"

"As soon as the doctor gives you all a clean bill of health," he said tucking her in.

"You know how I don't like hospitals," she said as he recalled the time she left at her own accord.

"Yes baby," he said lying next to her as she lay her head on his chest.

"And you know how much I hate people hovering over me. At least at the palace they know I need my space especially when it's just us," she said.

"Just one more day and you will have me all to yourself," he smiled recalling how they where interrupted after he greeted her a few minutes ago.

Tilting her head up he captured her lips with his enjoying how she responded to him.

"Six weeks," he murmured when they separated as she smiled knowing what he meant.

"I'm sure you can find other ways of satisfying our needs, but trust me. With three babies we are going to be exhausted, no child of mine will be raised by a nanny," she said as he looked at her impressed.

"And I shall try to be a hands on father," he said.

"I'm not worried. I have seem the way you are with Munashe, so all is well," she said slowly closing her eyes.

"Thank you for loving this king," he said softly as she slept in his arms.
