Chapter 2
1st December 1964
White House
It was beginning to get Christmassy in the White House. Even though it was 24 days to go, they still got ready for the festive season. Jackie was heavily pregnant but she and Jack still went Christmas shopping.
Jackie put on a white coat and the black hat she had worn in San Antonio. She and Jack were flying to New York to go shopping for Christmas. "Are you sure you want to come to New York?" Jackie asked as she buttoned up her coat. "I'm not letting you shop alone" Jack fixed his tie until it looked neat. "I can always phone Lee" Jackie pushed at her coat and straightened it out.
"Isn't Lee in Greece?"
"Oh yes she is. Another cruising party with Ari on the Christina" Jackie popped in her pearl earrings that Jack gave her for Christmas last year.
"Yeah" Jack threw on his coat and was ready to go to the Air Force Base. "Is the luggage there?" Jackie asked linking arms with Jack. "Yep, at the Carlyle already" Jack lead Jackie in Central Hall where they hugged goodbye to the kids and promised to be back in two days.

"Oh my stomach" Jackie held her bump as she sat down on the sofa. "Do you want me to stop the plane and call Dr Travell? Are you ok?" Jack comforted her. "No I'll be fine" Jackie reassured him.
Jack was worried if Jackie was complaining of being in pain. He didn't like seeing her being in horrific pain but he also didn't want to lose this baby. After the death of Patrick, he was worried sick when it came to having children. Jackie was equally as scared but she tried not to be in case all this stress harmed the baby.

"Oh it's good to be landing" Jackie stood up with Jack's assistance. When they stepped off the plane, the Press were there with their big, bulky cameras.
However, Mr and Mrs Kennedy got into the Presidential car that was waiting and they drove to the Carlyle Hotel.

Jackie flopped onto the bed with all the excitement of coming back to New York. Even though the flight took just over an hour, she was still exhausted. Jackie decided to get some rest. Jack popped his head in. "Jackie, I'm ordering some tea, would you like some?" Jack asked politely. Jackie smiled. "That would be great" she said as Jack headed to the phone.
Jackie slept for about five minutes before her tea arrived.
She got out of bed to drink it. She sat on the sofa with Jack cuddling into him. He rubbed her bump and she liked that. Eventually the baby started to kick. "Oh my God" Jackie was extremely happy. Jack felt the baby kicking strong. Jackie smiled radiantly. Jack was proud. As long as Jackie was happy, he was happy.
