Why can't my nightmares take a break? Just one night, why can't they just leave for one night?

After having Icecream and little bit of more crying, we all had went to sleep only to wake up in few hours by my scream.

"Sia, Sia are you okay?", Jiya asked rubbing my back while Maitri ran downstairs to bring water.

I nodded wiping my tears and tried to bring my breathing under control.

"Here, drink slowly", Maitri said forwarding the glass.

"Did you see me getting hurt again?", Shanaya asked, her eyes filled with worry.

I shook my head and answered, "It was Jiya, this time".

"It's your fault. Why do you keep watching them in your dreams? If you had a nightmare with me being the lead then you wouldn't have to wake up screaming.

I would have punched that man in the face and then kneed him where the sun doesn't shine and then....", Maitri's animated talk got interrupted when I bursted out laughing, forgetting all my worries.

"Oh God! Shit I would die laughing. You are right, Maitri. I would try to dream about you, maybe you could scare all my nightmares away", I said still laughing uncontrollably.

"Wow! What a sight! Maitri, for the first time you made someone laugh. I never thought you were capable of doing something else other than scare people away", Shanaya exclaimed pulling Maitri's leg.

"You are right. I will show you the real scary Maitri. You just wait", saying this Maitri took one pillow and started hitting Shanaya with it.

"SAVE MEEE",Shanaya shouted flailing her hands.

Jiya and I glanced at each other and instantly took hold of other pillows, throwing one at Shanaya to catch.

Upon receiving the pillow, Shanaya let out a War cry and thus began our pillow fight.

Morning:

We all woke up to the continuous ringing of the doorbell.

"Uggh, who the hell is disturbing me so early in the morning?", Maitri growled.

"I will go and check", I said getting up from the bed.

I went downstairs and opened the door yawning to find Ganga Tai standing there with an apologetic look.

"Sorry dear, I forgot the house keys at home", she explained.

"It's fine, come inside", I said moving aside to let her in.

"Why are your eyes so red and puffy? Were you crying?", Ganga Tai asked looking concerned.

"It...It's nothing. Something must have went inside my eyes", I stammered while answering.

"Strange. Rudra was sad since last evening and gave me same excuse", Ganga Tai spoke portraying a thoughful expression🤔.

Suddenly her face changed like she solved the mystery. "You guys broke up, didn't you?", she asked in a knowing tone.

"For breaking up, you need to be in a relationship", I said rolling my eyes.

"But yeah, we broke our friendship. Rudra probably hates me now", I added as an afterthought.

"Hate? Why would my son cry for someone he hates?", Ganga Tai asked raising her eyebrows.

"HE CRIED?", Shanaya asked in excitement.

She came running downstairs while the other two followed slowly.

"Are you serious? Did he really cry?", Shanaya asked while shaking Ganga Tai's shoulders excitedly.

"Yeah...he did. But I don't understand. why are you so excited upon hearing about my son's pain?", Ganga Tai asked in confusion and irritation.

Who wouldn't be irritated if someone just laughed when you spoke about your son's sorrow?

"Sia, do you know what that means?", Shanaya asked me with a wide smile.

She face palmed seeing my negative nod and explained, "You idiot. It means he still cares for you. Let's go to his house and win him back".

"Woah! Shanaya with an actually good advice. This day should be counted and written in golden words in the whole history", Maitri spoke complimenting and making fun of Shanaya at the same time.

Shanaya pouted hearing Maitri's words.

"Stop it, Maitri. Sia, I think we should follow Shanaya's advice. Let's go and talk to Rudra", Jiya spoke before Maitri and Shanaya could start their banter.

"Very good Idea. But first have some breakfast and then go", Ganga Tai interjected and at the same time Shanaya's stomach growled.

"Oops, looks like I am hungry", Shanaya spoke sheepishly while rubbing her tummy.

"Obviously you are, we just had ice cream for dinner, yesterday", Maitri said rolling her eyes.

"WHAT? Stupid girls. Go and freshen up while I make breakfast quickly", Ganga Tai said while hurrying to the kitchen.

"But....", I started to object but Ganga Tai quickly shut me down.

"Go after having your breakfast. No will stop you", Ganga Tai yelled from the kitchen.

Wait and watch Rudra. Ready or not, here I come.
