He turned upon hearing my voice with a tablespoon in his hand. My eyes widened in shock when I realized that he was actually cooking in my house.

"Rudra?"

I was confused seeing him here. He was my classmate who was one of those unfortunate one's who had been the victim of my rude behaviour.

He dramatically widened his eyes and placed his hands on his cheeks and said, "Oh my!! The rich brat knows my name. Woah!! I am so lucky".

"What the hell are you doing at my house? And who let you in?" I asked him and then called out to Ganga Tai to know why she let a stranger come inside.

"Ganga Tai, where are you?" I called out again when I didn't hear her response.

"Stop shouting. You would know where she is, if you would have been patient enough to hear my response to your questions", he said rolling his eyes.

I raised my eyebrows at him in irritation and waited for him to explain what was going on.

"Mom had a minor accident and doctor has advised her to take bed rest for atleast a week. I should be there helping her but she is worried about you. 'Her Sia' won't be able to find someone else to work in such a short notice, so here I am.

Mom has talked with Raghav Sir and I will be cooking for you until my Mom is able to work again", he said everything in one go.

"So you are Ganga Tai's son?" I asked him stupidly.

"God, you are so slow. I literally explained you everything", he exasperated.

Well yeah, he should be irritated. I asked him that instead of asking the most important question.

"Is she okay? Ofcourse she isn't or else why would a doctor advise bed rest. God, why am I wasting my time talking to you, I should call her", I kept ranting when he suddenly took my mobile from my hand.

"No need to disturb her. She must be sleeping right now", he said while taking the mobile.

At that moment I realized that we were alone in the house and my mistrust radar jumped up making me take few steps away from him.

Rudra could be like my father and I had to get away from him.

"Get out", I ordered not looking at him.

His face turned red in anger, the moment he heard me and he said, "I am not here by choice. I know I am not of your standard, you made it quite clear when I tried to become your friend.

Let me tell you, I am not dying to be in your presence. My mother had sang praises about you and hence I tried so that you won't be alone in this new town but you rudely dismissed me like I am dirt beneath your shoes.

The food is cooked for you and call Raghav Sir if you don't want me to come and work here. Tell him to message me or else I would be here tomorrow morning.

And no way I am allowing you to cut my mother's salary because it is you who don't want me to work here and not the other way round", he left after saying his part without waiting for my response.

I knew I did wrong by behaving rudely but that was the only way for me. I didn't trust men and there was no way I wad letting another man in my life.

I knew that not all the men were same. Few examples were already in front of me in the form of Tanya's husband and her male in laws but still I had a hard time trusting anyone new and for that I had hurt too many people.
