I woke up to Cally nibbling my face. Softly but it still hurt.
"Ouch Cally!" I said giving her a sharp slap across the face. She stopped immediately.
"Ok I'm sorry but you aren't allowed to bite me. Alright now for some breakfast,"
I got 2 pieces of bread for us. We still had quite a while to go but needed to get some more food.
"Cally, today our plan is to try find another island close by so we can get more food."
After breakfast, I made my bed and started rowing towards the north again. It had been 5 days of rowing to the North without any stops except for sleeping, but I did see some islands along the way and now I needed to stop at the next one. I will go into the shops buy more food and maybe a dog bed or something like that for Cally but she would guard the boat.
After rowing for a while I saw a island. I rowed towards it excitedly. Once I got there, I tied it to a post and walked around to find a shop.
I found a shop and I walked in. I got a chicken, honey, more bread, some fruits and a small pink dog bed for Cally. I went to the counter bought it and ran down to my boat. Some locals thought I was crazy getting in a boat with the the alligator. I explained and they wished me luck.
I untied my dingy from the pole, steered the boat back towards the North and than set up the boat.
The dog bed would go under the blanket so Cally could still sleep with me while being comfortable and the food where the rest of the food was.
I kept rowing until it got dark. Then I got some chicken out to eat. Cally and I halved a leg and then we got into bed. I put Cally in her new dog bed and she seemed to love it. I got under the covers with her. I got as close as possible to her so I could feel her warmth and sing her to sleep again. Tonight she fell to sleep so quickly because of the bed.
"Goodnight Cally,"
I looked up at the stars. I wondered if Alisha or my family were doing the same thing and thinking of me. I started to cry.
"Why did I ever leave without telling my mum. I wish I could let her know I'm ok."
Cally woke up. She crawled up to me as if she was telling me it's ok.
"Thanks Cally. It'll be ok."
I started singing Somewhere over the Rainbow again and this time I fell asleep before Cally.
