it's me, ya boi

so yesterday night, aka early today morning, i went to a basketball tournament, to play for about 3500 dirhams

rich, amirite

so a load of people came

the stands were actually full of supporters but none of ours

we played in groups and it was group stage to quarter finals to semis to the final

our team was super strong, but the people we played against were all like 18 and buff

honestly, when we saw our first team, we saw the girls like staring at them, and then one of my team mates went like damn, if i was a girl i would feel the same way, that man is hot

i wish someone looked at me that way :3

anyhoo

so we played

and we topped our group with a lot of hard work (and i almost died twice)

it was really long and grueling because Dubai heat + four quarter matches with each possession we ran about half a mile

i got a really bad cramp in both legs during the quarter finals, so i had to sit it out and a bit of the semis too

but i came back super strong for the rest of the semis and the final went to double overtime

we faced these guys from another school, a school right next to ours, Dubai College

they brought us to our limit by the end of the first half and we made a crazy comeback to send it to overtime

luckily, for us, ya boi, in the second overtime, shot a half court buzzer beater to win our team the game, and i basically got a winners parade from our team

i may have impressed one of the coaches for one of the basketball training camps, because he personally came over and congratulated me

all in all, damn, that was a crazy tournament

im proud of the effort from the lads and super happy that we won

my dad was supposed to pick me up at 6 in the morning, but he didn't pick up even once when i called him, and then my mom called and told me that he was sleeping and he couldn't come

i took the metro and a taxi afterwards home

and then best part

MY DAD YELLED AT ME FOR SLEEPING WHEN I CAME HOME

i legit slept from 8 to 12:40

anyways, enough of that

school is starting in about two weeks

and im super pumped because honestly this was the worst and most boring summer I've ever had

school gives me a fresh start

and that's all i need right now, to be honest

also, can't wait for all the food on Eid
