Chapter 9
A couple of weeks passed, and we approached at the end of summer. My relationship with Milla becoming strained since the party, while I fixed mine with Abs. My effort of coaxing and doing favours were strenuous, yet it paid off eventually.
Abs wasn't at his best state to face the world since the party dispute. He rather moped around or binging PES, PubG, weed, porn or any form of entertainment to occupy his mind, stinking up his flat. Thinking of the best way for him to resume with his life, I extracted him out of his smelly flat and took him to several outings such as paintball, smashing any breakable things at House of Wrath smash room or to the movies.
We became companions like we once were before, but closer each day. Abs took time to forgive me despite that it wasn't easy to do so.

Our next outing was a film night out at The Printworks building. I never watched the previous Ant-Man before but the sequel to it was acceptable, or at least people would want to know how this would connect to the upcoming Avengers movie and whether the end credit scene would reveal any hints that would lead to what was predicted by Dr. Strange in Infinity War.
We left The Printworks half an hour after it was over, we waited until the end of its credit for any clues of the next movie. We exchanged opinions, concocted theories of how to defeat Thanos and laughed at our own argument.
When we passed the neighbourhood area along Great Southern Street on our way home, Abs spotted something or someone ahead of us which he suddenly tugged me to a small back alley to hide ourselves.
"That's Nick's car," he said in low hushed tones, pointing towards the familiar X351 parked opposite by the kerb of Great Southern Street-Santiago Street intersection. The car's champagne gold color was more obvious during daylight. I saw its license registration number PH0L4D1 screamed the owner's name.
"What the hell is he doing here?" I hissed, remembering the immunity I lost the moment I let Milla walk out on me.
"How was I to know?!" Abs hissed back, turning behind us, scanning for any signs of Nick or his men approaching. Then, he found a cricket bat with a cracked edge jutted out of a green garbage bin, three feet away from us. Abs pulled out the cricket bat and tested on its durability.
"What are you doing?" I asked in astonishment while he swung the bat playfully like he did in the smash room.
"Do you want to revisit House of Wrath's moment?" He asked back, flashing a devious smile.
"Nick can be nearby. Please don't tell me you're planning to do what I think you're planning to do." I responded frantically.
Abs nodded eagerly, still clasping the bat with his both hands. "Oh, just a little bit of fun won't hurt. You go on the lookout while I wreck it."
I eventually obeyed. With all the luck we needed, we approached. I secured the parameter, scanned through the areas around the park. A bunch of kids were practicing shots inside a high fenced court a hundred meters away from us. Abs went closer to the side of the car, held the bat behind and above his head waiting to launch.
"This is for ZJ, you mother fuckin' prick!" He shouted, wacking the windscreen a couple of times, leaving a visible crack across it that triggered alarm to emit high-volume sound, alerting the neighbourhood that it was being attacked.
Abs threw the cricket bat away and took me by the hand as we both sprinted from the scene. I could hear some shouting behind us but was afraid to turn to look. We ran all the way through Santiago Street for a hundred meters' run while I felt my legs were about to explode from the sprinting.
We found another trash alley behind a row of houses and stopped for a quick hideout to regain our breaths. I panted and chocked for air, bending down on a half squat, with my both hands clutching my knees. Abs panted too as he patted me on the back, like congratulated me for good team effort.
"You alright, mate?" he gasped. I looked up at him and gave the thumbs up. I laughed in between my breaths. Looking at my expression, he laughed too.
After being completely sure that we were not followed, we resumed to the correct path back to Maine Road reminiscing good old days together. Although some memories were mostly favourable to Abs but seeing him happy has always been my favourite.
