Knuckles pov

As we stepped out into the cold night air I gently took his hand and walked out together. As soon as we did a droplet of water hit my nose.

"Rain" I muttered as I held out my hand to feel the droplets roll down my hand

"Not to worry. I came prepared" he opened an umbrella "do you want to share"

"Don't mind if I do" I pulled him closer, wrapping my arm around him.

We walked down the road as the soft sound of the pitter-patter of raindrops surrounded us. Our images were reflected in the puddles, disappearing as soon as we stepped in them. It was beautiful. He was beautiful.

He nuzzled against my shoulder. I smiled as I placed my hand on his shoulder. I could feel a fuzzy feeling in my chest. Should I go for it? I mean this is kind of the perfect romantic atmosphere.

"Hmm?" Espio turned to me with a curious expression "is something wrong-"

I cut him off with a kiss. It felt scary at first, like my heart was going to burst out of my chest. But that fear quickly left me when he kissed me back. We stayed there for a moment while they raindrops pitter-pattered around me. It was magical.

Eventually we pulled away "wow" he said breathlessly.

"Yeah" I said just as breathless.

"You look cold. I think we should get home and cuddle" he placed a hand on my chest with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"That sounds perfect" I pulled him into a sweet kiss before walking him home.
