Study Date?

Natasha sat down on her bed doing her homework. Apparently being around Steve had a bit of an impact on her. It's been a weekend since the homecoming dance and they didn't see each other at all this weekend. Steve had work and she was trying to catch up on her work. Another reason she was doing work, exchange students need to have a certain grade level in order to stay enrolled in a class.

Natasha was having some trouble in Math and Mr. X had a certain dislike towards her. Was it because she told him to hold his conversation because Clint needed something? Maybe. Maybe not.

Nick and Kennedy were out of the afternoon so she pretty much had the house to herself. She really wanted to study but she just couldn't focus and it really didn't matter she couldn't get the topic anyway.

She was just about to quit and throw her book to the ground when her phone rang, looking down she couldn't help but smile when Steve's name popped. She quickly answered it smirking.

"Hello Rogers, miss me?" She asked leaning back on the pillows that piled up on her bed.

"Of course." He said. "What are you doing?" He asked he sounded a bit tired, but happy to hear her voice.

"trying not to pull my hair out."

"Oh don't do that I love your hair," he said causing her to blush. "Want to hang out? Maybe go get some lunch and walk in the park?"

"Oh Steve that sounds amazing," She smiled. "Unfortunately I can't. We have an Math test tomorrow and I have to study I can't afford to fail again."

"Why don't I come over and help you? I happen to be very prepared for this test and Math happens to be my subject. I am in AP."

"And here I was thinking it was PE. Do you really want to spend your Sunday helping me study?" She asked.

"of course, I love helping you," he smiled. "So how about I pick up some lunch and meet you at your house?"

"Of course." She smiled. "I will see you soon,"

"See you soon Natasha,"

Natasha hung up the phone and couldn't help but smile once again, not that her smile from earlier had really faded. She didn't know why but Steve was making her feel better about being here. WHY DOES HE HAVE THAT effect ON ME! she groaned internally. She didn't like that someone basically controlled her happiness.

But she also didn't want him to leave, she felt like for the first time in her life someone cared about her without any ulterior motives. Steve was like the sun after the storm. She was excited to see where this was going to go between them.

About thirty minutes later Natasha heard a soft knock on her door, she smiled jumping up to go answer it. Steve was standing there with two bags of food from his mother's diner.
"Did you walk here Steve?"

"Well I had to return the rented car," He said scratching his neck. "but it's okay it was a nice walk. I really don't mind."

"You sure? Next time we can meet at a common spot." She offered.

"No no, it's fine. I don't mind, my mom and I have always walked wherever we went so this was no problem. Besides I was the one who offered to help you study." Natasha knew that her family, were more gifted in the economy than most, and from what she has seen from Steve and his family, and the Furys, money doesn't matter and you don't need it to be happy. Her family had a lot of it and they didn't seem to be very happy.

"Well come on," She smiled letting him in. "I have everything set up in my room."

"Okay, and I brought you your usual." He said, Natasha, smiled at him and lead him to the room. Natasha let him pull out the food as she explained what she was having trouble with. He didn't mock her at all. He was very kind about it.

He began showing her how to do the math as they ate their food. Natasha was actually beginning to understand what he was explaining. Steve too was feeling really useful and it felt really nice to help Natasha out.

"Thank you for doing this Steve, I know it's not the most ideal way to spend your weekend."

"What are you talking about? I enjoy spending time with you." He replied.

"Well of course you do," She smirked. "I'm amazing,"

"That you are." He said shaking his head. "Besides I wanted to thank you for going to the game with me on Friday,"

"I enjoyed watching you play, it wasn't as boring as I thought it would be." She said.

"I am glad you weren't completely bored out of your mind." he laughed, " I wouldn't want you to do something you don't want to do."

"Trust me, if I didn't want to watch it I would have left the moment I could." he didn't know if she was being serious or not. "I'm kidding Steve," She said noticing the look on his face.

"Oh right," He laughed.

"So Steve what's going on with you? Is there anything cool going on?"

"Cool? You mean like working twenty-four hours shifts for the last two days?"

"See now that's a lie because you are here with me and I just saw you Friday, you haven't been working twenty-four hours." She teased him.

"Okay, maybe I am exaggerating just a little bit." Steve smiled. "How about you? Do you have a job?" Natasha wanted to laugh, she had never had a job before, she was only sixteen, turning 17 next month, but most kids her own age had jobs at fifteen and a half. Her father told her she couldn't work. She didn't need to, but she wanted to sometimes. She knew happy Steve was making his own money, she wanted to experience that... she just couldn't.

"No," She said softly. "I have never had a job before. Do you like working? You seem kind of exhausted."

"Well I mean I am tired of course. Working is no easy thing, and just because my mother owns the dinner doesn't mean I get special treatment, however, I really like it. It's nice to own your own money, so I can spend it on pretty girls who want to have a study date." He surprised Natasha with his boldness.

"How many pretty girls are you bringing on study dates Rogers?" She asked raising an eyebrow.

"Just one pretty redhead." He smiled, causing Natasha to blush.

"Are we considering this a date Steve?" She asked smiling sweetly at him.

"Well, I'd like to take you out on a real date, maybe this Friday?" He asked. "I just got a paycheck in this week and I know the best place to ake you,"

"You don't have to spend your paycheck on me, Steve, I can pay," She offered.

"No no, Natasha, a gentleman should pay for his date, besides I'd feel better not spending your parent's money if I haven't met them," He said and she nodded. "Oh no I didn't mean that," He looked down cursing himself for the choice of words.

"No I didn't take it that way Steve," She reassured. "So this Friday?"

"This Friday." He smiled. "Now come on let's make sure you pass your math test," he said. The rest of the night the pair spent going over math and having dinner with the Fury's when they returned home. Steve and they seemed to really get along, and Nick didn't want to kill him anymore! Life was really improving. Now the only question was how long would it last.
