The moment I uttered those words... I saw my Mother's eyes widened from shock. I knew with what I said... I had my choices.

And that was to either stay... or to go with my Mother back to the US. I don't know what other option I have but...

Am I ready to make such a difficult decision?

Chapter 23: Overcoming Disadvantages

[Back At UA Stadium]

The fight between Tamaki and Akihotto was incredibly intense. The two were standing in their last breath and were barely able to use their own quirks properly. It was clear from the start that this fight would take every bit of energy within them to pull through it all. Tamaki was burnt on his shoulder and hands, as Akihotto was bruised and feeling the repercussions of her own drawback.
"Oi! Amajiki!" Called out the Fierce red head as she was gripping her arm. "It's not over yet! I will beat you here and now!" With he pent up anger she started walking towards Tamaki. Tamaki was standing still with no response.

The silence from Tamaki was already angering Akihotto as her arms started igniting with sparks coming off her arms. However, that immediately causing a sharp pain in Akihotto. He gritted her teeth in pure pain as she suppressed a scream as she continued walking to Tamaki. The crowd was in shock and awe since a struggling Akihotto still pushing throw the pain to win that even Present Mic was speechless from watching this... which is rare.

Tamaki snapped back into reality and saw the look on Akihotto's face. The pain she was feeling as she gripped tightly on her arm with a bit of tears falling from her eyes. He was shocked to see this girl still fighting and pushing herself past her limits as she continued to damage her body. Tamaki was shocked and he didn't even know what to say. It was only until Akihotto was limping closer that she collapsed onto her knees letting out a stressed out wheeze. She was trying to catch her breath as she was speaking to herself.
"God damn it... I'm... I-I'm not going to lose here and now! I will win! I WILL-"

"And that concludes the match! Class 1A's Tamaki Amajiki forfeits the match!" As Present Mic yelled out through the intercom. Akihotto's eyes widened up as she's looked up to Tamaki's arm raised high up into the air. He had uttered the words "I forfeit the match" and the fight was called off. This left Akihotto shocked as she tried to force herself up.
"What the hell... why the hell did you call off the match, Amajiki?!"

Tamaki sighed as he started walking towards Akihotto to helped her get back up onto her feet. He held a gentle smile, despite losing the match.
"Thank you for giving it your all, but I think it's best you don't damage yourself to such an extent." As he walked off the stage, the crowd started cheering with excitement, even though the match ended on a forfeit.
"What an intense battle! It was unexpected, but we were given a true spectacle for the final match of the 2nd bracket! There is no doubt that there will be even more amazing fights!" As Present Mic spoke, his excitement matched the intensity of the rest of the crowd. Akihotto, who was still distraught from the sudden turn of events, started to walk off the stage. However, when she was out of sight from the crowd, Akihotto was still and looking at the floor as she was recollecting all of the events that took place in the arena today.

All she could do at this point was... cry.

[Back at the Class 1A stand]

"What a fight. I wasn't expecting that outcome at all." Settei spoke to Akari, who was surprised as well.
"Yeah. Not how I thought it would end, but I'm glad no one was seriously injured. It's good to know that Tamaki saw how hard Akihotto was pushing herself. If she had gone on any longer she could have damaged herself beyond repair." Akari sighed but still retained a smile.
"You class 1B folks never fail to surprise me at times." She thought you herself.

"Well Akari, looks like you are going to have a good match up with a class 1A member as well. Just be careful you two and give it your all." Settei said as he looked at both Akari and the girl to his left.
"Oh you bet Settei! I'm not planning to hold back on Akari anytime soon!"
Akari smiled as she looked at her friend. "I hope not Sakuya! I'm so excited to see more of your quirk in action." As the two were motivating each other, Settei could help but think about the match he had with (Y/N). It was a chaotic fight with so many things that could have gone wrong if he didn't restrain himself. The thought of his father actually bringing harm to someone wasn't too far fetched, but to go about killing (Y/N)'s father and try to kill both him and his mother definitely left a sour taste in his mouth. All he wanted to know was... who was telling the truth? Better yet, WHAT is the real truth?

Despite the recent turn of events, the match was still going underway. The semi-finals were about to begin soon and it would be as such. The first match will be Akari Hamasaki vs Yuki Sakuya and the semi-final round will be Settei Kaitai vs Akihotto Homura. After that, the final round to the decide the 3rd place student as the two who lost will take on each other for that spot. Finally the last two students will take each other on for 1st and 2nd place. We can only hope for the best and be prepared for the intense battles that are coming up soon! We will finally get the chance to see what Akari is capable of and how she managed to get this far in the tournament. Everyone around the world was watching the UA Sports Festival as it was broadcasting far and wide for everyone person to see.

However...

[Meanwhile at an Unknown Location]

"Hmm... these UA students are very exceptional. I am amazed how strong this generation of quirk users have become. You think they can be of use to the boss?" Said a white haired man in a tux who was standing next to a desk with folders and files spread across it.
"I believe there will be just enough to further progress the plans for the boss."
"The ones here in this city were only good enough for some of the task, but none of them are strong enough to survive during the experiments. It seems we may have to go overseas for some new test subjects." Responded a black haired man in a white dress shirt, as he was looking at a folder with more papers in it.

"The next phase of our plan will require some stronger quirk users and it seems the best source for said users will be in Japan. Particularly, the students at UA High." As the man spoke he turned to his window and smiled.
"In time, my dear boy. Soon we will help you get the strength you need to push through the pain you are suffering. Once I get the right sample, you'll be good as new... and will be ready to create havoc." As he placed the folder down and smiled.
"Get your team ready. We will make our move tonight so we can get everything prepared for 'PROJECT: NOMU' and set the plan in motion."
"Yes sir." As the White haired man walked out of the office leaving the black haired individual alone.

"Soon... we will have what we need for him to test out the these monsters and with his help we can create more of them. I am ready to bring a new age of chaos to this place, and once we finally reach the end goal... we can create artificial quirk users that can beat any top level heroes. Including you.... All Might." With a sinister grin that followed up with a maniacal laugh that could be heard echoing all over the office.

Who are these people?

Why are they planning to target students at UA?

But more importantly, what is PROJECT: NOMU?

A/N: Hey everyone! I am super sorry that this chapter was long overdue haha..... but I finally got my mojo back and during my break, I finally got an plot line that I'm excited to get rolling! I hope you enjoyed this ending and I should be able to work on this story more and the other story as well!
