So... I'm just gonna skip the "Humanity" episode BC rly there's not much I can do with it and I'm not too eager to write in Zatana

Robin watched as the Dark Knight seemed to be zapped into oblivion by the unknown alien invaders- no emotions filling his mind.

A holoscreen appeared with Zataras frantic face,"Did you see that?"

Their caretaker android replied,"Yes, we saw. Celestial defenses have failed. Initiate all terrestrial measures."

"Affirmative, see you in the field." The holoscreen disappeared.

Red Tornado turned to face the team,"I must join the League. We will protect the planet at all cost, but if we fail, the responsibility falls to you."

The air was tense, but Aqualad easily replied,"We stand ready."

Red Tornado left and the team remained watching the footage, as each member of the League was dissipated one by one.

"Red Tornado to the cave, I fear I am all that remains of the lea-"

"RT!"

All the Leaguers were gone. There was no one left but them.

"We are Earths heroes now." Aqualad announced.

"Then what are we waiting for, a theme song?" Superboy countered.

"A strategy, Earths weapons are ineffective and it has been made tragically clear a direct attack will not succeed."

Robin pulled up his holocompter,"Checking satellite imagery." He was able to pull up a holographical globe with several locations marked in red,"Here's where the aliens are now."

Superboy took notice to a dot that seemed to stray from the others,"This one get lost?"

"I think that might be Superman Fortress of Solitude." Robin recalled something that Batman had told him about the Fortress.

Batman.....

He was dead, never to be seen again....

He could focus on this later.

"Superman has a Fortress of Solitude?"

"It's power source must be attracting the aliens attention- at least enough to send a scout ship to investigate.

"Must be some Fortress..." Superboy walked away.

"Connor-" M'gann tried to console him.

"No, it's okay. There's probably a lot of Superman that I'll never know, now." Robin honestly didn't believe now was the time to be fixating on something as unimportant as their weak bond, but he said nothing.

Aqualad ignored the two as well,"We will target that lone ship."

Wally raised his arms up in agreement, "Yeah, we will take it down, build more, hit those ugly aliens with their own mojo! Ow!" Artemis had elbowed him.

"Martian and Kryptonian in the house."

They sent looks filled with distaste," Uh... heh, not that all aliens are automatically ugly....."

Artemis was dead.

Aqualad was dead.

Superboy was dead.

Robin had thought that if he became a hero, he could prevent people from dying, but instead some of his closest friends and their mentors were all being killed off one by one.

He had refused to be apart of the Court of Owls so he wouldn't have to kill people, but he basically sent Superboy to his death. He has lied to the team, sending them on a wild goose chase, not telling them that Wally's transportation idea was actually false, therefore leading to their deaths.

He was responsible for his team members deaths. He had killed them, directly or not.

These were his exact thought as he held Kid Flashs hand and fell so what he believed to be certain death.

"Your grappling hook!" Kid Flash snapped the young teen out of his thoughts.

Robin did just as Kid Flash suggested, pulling out his grappling hook, keeping them suspended in the air.

An alien approached them, but Miss Martian and Martian Manhunted were quick to destroy it. Miss Martian used her powers to lower them onto a solid surface.

Robin pulled some explosives off of him self ready to load them, then KF began to speak as realization hit him,"You knew. You knew from the beginning why we were really here."

Robin ignored him and set the bombs,"1 minute, lets go."

As if on cue, a hoard of aliens surrounded them,"Perfect."

They ignored the blasts being shot at them,"1 minute 30 and counting. Manhunter, take Miss Martian and go." He knew what he was really asking her to do, but it was necessary. She wouldn't be able to transport them all out at once. This was their only option.

"No!" Miss Martian pleaded. She too knew what their fate would be.

"That's an order! We'll follow as soon as we blow up those doors!"

The male heroes exchanged determined looks before jumping into action.

For a second, Dick thought they had a chance of making it, but then his wrist watch beeped, announcing they had 30 seconds left.

"Wally."

The speedster kept going, fending off the aliens."

"Wally!"

He turned his head.

"We're never gonna make it. Just stop."

The speedster started at the clock counting down.

"Maybe if we-"

"I'm sorry..." Robin trailed off.

Kid Flash stared at his friend not saying a word.

Seeing that death was certain, Robin decked go speak. ,".... The Court of Owls- they were were sending me letters.... They wanted to meet up.... and I was going to meet up with them. I didn't care if they took me back, as long as all of you were safe and out of harm ways..." Sure, there really was no point in telling him this, but it wasn't like he had anything better to say.

Kid Flashs eyes widened,"Wha-"

The bombs went off.

"You're all alive!" Was the first thing Robin heard as he regained consciousness.

"What happened in there?" Batman asked the team, only choosing to stare at Robin.

Robin was aware of how much of a mess he looked like. He could feel the sweat that dripped from his forehead, and his heart felt as if it was about to jump out of his chest.

Martian Manhunter lowered his head,"The exercise, it all went wrong."

"Exercise?" Robin mumbled.

"Try to remember." The Dark Knight replied,"What you experienced was a training exercise. Manhunter physically linked the six of you within an artificial reality. You all knew this going in, what you didn't know was that it was a trained for failure exercise. No matter what the team accomplished, the scenario was designed to grow worse. Still, you were aware that nothing was real. Including the deaths of the entire Justice League."

Martian Manhunter continue,"That is why you hardly grieved. Even when Wolf was disintegrated in front of you eyes, but all that changed when Artemis died. Though consciously Miss Martian knew it was not real, her subconscious mind could not make that distinction. She forgot it was only an exercise, and her subconscious took control making all of you forget too."

All eyes turned to Miss Martian,"Uh- I- uh- I'm sorry!"

Connor lashed out,"This isn't her fault! Why didn't you stop the exercise?"

"We tried, but M'gann had a death grip on the scenario. Even Artemis who should have awoken after her of death was so convinced she has passed, she slipped into a coma. I realized I would have to regain control from Miss Martins subconscious within, but upon entering the reality I was so overwhelmed by your collective emotion. There was too much noise to think clearly- to remember why I was there. The deaths of Aqualad and Superboy helped, but only when the mothership exploded and Robin and Kid Flash were silenced my mind cleared enough to remember my true purpose. To shock M'gann out of the exercise before your comas became permanent. My apologies, I had no idea a training exercise could be so dangerous, so damaging."

Captain Marvel went over and comforted M'gann who was sobbing.

Robin accidentally met eyes with Kid Flash and he was reminded of what he had said before the mothership exploded. He had told him about the Court of Owls, the letters, everything.

The ginger made his way to Dick and whispered,"We need to talk."
