Gon looked down at Killua's shirts, then realized. His scent...it's fading. Somehow, the cloth had maintained his scent for an unusually long time. But, he wasn't ready. He wanted to- the shirts were plucked from his fingers by Aizawa. "I've never once seen these washed" He said tiredly, before folding them. Gon froze, then a few memories of Killua wearing those same shirts flashed through his head. Dawn meowed loudly, then hissed and bit at Aizawa's foot. He cursed under his breath, dropping the shirts. They fell into Gon's outstretched hands, and he buried his face into them as he breathed in Killua's scent. "What the hell cat?" He muttered, glaring. Gon glanced up at Aizawa, who paused at the small spark in his eyes. "Can you...seal a scent into cloth?" He said quietly. Aizawa frowned slightly. "Scent? Of what?" Gon looked down at the shirts, and felt his heart crack a little again. "Mrrrow" Dawn crawled up onto his lap, purring and rubbing her head into his abdomen. Aizawa blinked, then sighed heavily. "If I do that, will you let me wash it?" Gon nodded, and Aizawa grabbed his phone. "hey, Tsukauchi? Can you look up some files for me?"

About an hour later, there was a knock on the door. Gon was on the couch, Dawn on his lap. The shirts were on the table, the white one on top just like it would be if someone was wearing it. Aizawa opened the door, and a nervous looking 16 year old with pale blue hair and black eyes peered in. "Uhhh. I was told to come here? For some reason? Something about my quirk" Aizawa nodded. "Explain the quirk for me" She stepped in and closed the door behind her, she hadn't noticed Gon yet. "I can replicate any scent I've smelled before, or seal scents into objects. For it to be permanent it takes a lot of energy and I usually pass out afterwards-" Aizawa cut her off. "That's all I needed to know" Then he pointed to Gon. Her eyes trailed over to him, then they widened in shock and worry. "Oh my god! Is he alright?" Gon stroked Dawn, who purred a little. "I pretty much adopted him at this point. He won't talk about his trauma, or how he got to Japan, but there's certain things he won't do and questions he just won't answer"

Then he pointed to the shirts. "Damn kid won't let me run those through the wash until the scent on them gets 'sealed' or whatever. Probably reminds him of something, or someone" She nodded, then walked over. "Oh uh...Hi?" Gon glanced up blankly. "Hi" He responded, in quiet monotone. She glanced over at the shirts, then lifted them up. Gon stiffened, and she smiled at him. "I'm gonna try my best to replicate that scent ok?" Oh... He nodded, then relaxed. She sighed, then brought the shirts up to her face and inhaled deeply. She blinked. "I don't really smell anything. It's...faint, and I can't make out what it is" She shrugged, then set the shirts down and cupped her hands as she concentrated. Suddenly, Killua's scent hit his nose. Gon's eyes widened, she blinked again. "I can barely smell anything, how-" He stood up, then cupped his own hands and brought the Killua smelling air to his nose. "I've always had a strong nose, I can smell different people scents as well"

Her eyes widened, seemingly putting something together. Then she smiled again. "That's a pretty neat quirk" Gon blinked. "it's...not" She frowned slightly. "Huh?" Gon looked down with a mumble. "I've been able to do it since I was born" There was silence for a few moments, then she sighed. "If I try to seal the scent in permanently...I might have some side effects. Since it's faint and a mix of scents instead of just one" Gon grabbed her arm as she went to walk away, she glanced over her shoulder with wide eyes as he used his fake emotion skills to force his face into a desperate and pleading expression. She hesitated, then Aizawa sighed. "I'll pay you for it" She smiled softly, then grabbed the shirts again. "Alright, but since you can smell it the best you'll have to tell me when it's got enough alright?" Gon nodded, letting his fake expression fall.

She produced more of the scent with her hands flattened on the shirts, doing it on every inch. Gon gave her the clear after a few minutes. "Ok" She smiled, then closed her eyes and placed both hands on the shirts as she set them on the table. After about 10 seconds, she let out a pained cry and stumbled back with a hand to her head. Gon caught her, then helped her down onto the couch. "Oh god..." She murmured, then coughed. Gon froze, breath hitching. An image of Aunt Mito, coughing. Then coughing blood, then closing her eyes- "Mrrow" Dawn climbed up his leg and onto his back, effectively cutting off the memory. This didn't go unnoticed by Aizawa, who had realized that whenever something struck a nerve in Gon, Dawn always meowed and jumped on or snuggled into him. He placed a hand on her chest and arm, feeling her pulse and breathing. "H-Huh? What are yo-" She coughed again. More images came, Dawn meowed loudly in his ear and rubbed her head on his cheek. Both...are stable. But...for how long?

"She said she'd get after effects, looks to be lightheadedness, a cough, and tiredness" Aizawa said, coming up beside him. Gon shifted a little, Dawn slid into his arms and he held onto her tightly. Aizawa glanced down at him with a slightly worried expression. "She won't...start coughing blood?" Aizawa stiffened slightly, before relaxing his stance and placing a hand on his shoulder. "No" She gave him a weak smile. "I'm good, just a bit...tired. It'll blow over once I wake back up..." She mumbled the last part as she drifted into sleep. Gon wasn't sure what to think here. They both say...that she's fine. But from his experience, it might not stay that way for very long. Aizawa sighed "Alright, let's get her back to-" Gon sat down on the couch next to her, staring listlessly at her face as he rested a hand on her side. Aizawa paused, thinking for a few moments. Dawn curled up on his lap with a yawn, he didn't move. There was a sigh "Alright fine, she can stay"

About 5 hours later, she woke up. Gon hadn't moved from the spot despite Aizawa's encouragement, not until she opened her eyes. "Ugghnnnm" She grumbled, Gon removed the hand and watched as she sat up with a rub to her eyes. "Damn, got a headache-" She paused, blinking over at him. "Uhhhh. Hi?" Aizawa sighed from his place near the kitchen counter. "He didn't move from that spot since you fell asleep" She frowned slightly over at him. "Why?" Gon placed a hand on her chest and used another to check her pulse, she yelped and flushed a little. Nothing changed, and she's not coughing anymore. He removed his hands and nodded. "you were...right." He said quietly. She smiled a little, "You really just sat there just to make sure I was alright?" Gon looked down. "Just because you think you know what's wrong, doesn't mean you do for certain." His voice stayed monotone. "You might think it's just something small but..." Gon's heart cracked slightly once more as the images of hundreds of bodies flashed- "Mrrrrrrow"

Dawn reached up with her paws on his chest and nuzzled his face. Gon blinked, then stroked her head. "Ah! My brother's gonna be so worried!" She exclaimed, leaping to her feet with her hands to her head. Aizawa pointed to the door, "Great, you can leave then" He said flatly. She started to leave, but Gon stood up with Dawn in one arm. I want to...thank her. Show her I appreciate it. "Wait" He said, catching her arm. She glanced over her shoulder, "Hm?" Gon put on his fake smile, her eyes widened in surprise. "I can't smile for real but this is all I've got. To say...thank you" Her eyes shined a little and she smiled back. "Your welcome. I-" She laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of her head. "I never got your name, I'm Shim" Gon let his fake smile fade, then let go of her arm. "Gon" and with that, she left. Aizawa smiled quietly from his place next to the counter. "Progress" He said to himself.
