Hunting

The snow disappeared.

I had been lying in the shelter of a small cave for several days when suddenly, the snow outside just vanished into thin air. It wasn't that I couldn't have ventured outside the cave and into the storm, it was just that I didn't want to. I didn't know what I would do out there. No one could see me; I didn't need to eat. The only thing I could do was sleep.

So that's what I did. Under the shelter of the cave, with a storm howling outside, I slept. My dreams were vague and boring, but it gave me something to do. When I was awake, I felt too hollow.

But that had been before the snow disappeared. I had been sleeping peacefully, when I was suddenly awakened. At first I thought it was that bear returning from its evening hunt, but it wasn't that. It actually took me a moment to figure it out.

The wind had stopped howling.

Forcing my cramped body to move, I pushed myself to my feet. Leaning heavily on my staff, I ventured outside the cave. The first thing i noticed was that the sun was shining, but a close second was the huge snowflake floating in the sky.

Before my eyes, I watched it shimmer before it dissipated into nothing. I gasped in alarm. I thought I had been the only one who had control over the elements?

As I stood there, I slowly recalled my previous realization. I had been foolish to push it from my mind, but at the time, I had felt too empty to do anything other than mutter a few curses against the cause of my troubles. The one who had turned me into this was the Queen of Arendelle.

As the realization washed over me anew, for the first time in forever, I felt warmth. I felt the warmth of my own rage filling my inner being and spreading into my limbs.

Gripping my staff in my hand, I smirked while releasing a steamy breath of air. I had waited long enough. Today I would begin my quest for revenge. If the Queen made me into whatever I was, surely she could turn me back. I did not care if she refused, for I would force her till she did as I asked.

Striding away from the cave, I made a vow. I vowed that I would not stop searching for Elsa until I saw my family again.

The hunt had begun.
