Chapter 1
My name is Dreamcatcher Silver. It's an odd name, but it's mine, and I love it. I can only remember my life after waking up on an island shaped like a moon. The only thing special to me was a silver jewel on a necklace around my neck. Someone there found me, and he asked just why I was on Fullmoon Island. I shrugged. I didn't have an answer.
The most I can remember about myself is that I am 12 years old, but I don't know my birthday. I remember my name, but not who gave it to me. I know these things, but I don't know who I am.
The man who found me took me in to his family. He and his wife agreed to adopt me, and we lived happily in the Silav region. I still can't remember anything, but my life isn't that bad.
〜
"Dream, it's time to go!" I sigh.
"I still need to get dressed!" Then I hear my foster father. His voice had an undertone of impatience.
"You've been awake for an hour!"
"I didn't feel like getting dressed!" I reply. He huffed in defeat, and complied,
"You have ten minutes!" I laugh. I didn't need that much time. I opened my dresser and dug out a white mini skirt with shorts attached, a turquoise tube top, and a purple dip vest. M
My outfit was quick and easy to put on. Slipping on my black boots, I raced downstairs.
"Did it in five." I boast. My mom rolls her eyes.
"Impressive... But are we really going to that three star restaurant with a child who hasn't brushed her hair?" She said with a joking tone. I gasp.
"Shoot, I forgot! Be right back!" I call, already running for the bathroom. I grab the brush and look at myself in the mirror. All I see is my reflection, silver eyes staring back at me.
I comb my long hair, purple strands getting caught in the brush. Before I forget, I reverently pick up my necklace, gently setting it on my neck. I looked at it with a feeling of longing, yet I didn't understand why. I shook my head and called out. "Done!"
"And right on time." My dad said. "Let's go."
〜
"What an awesome start to a Sunday!" I say on the way back to our house. "I'm thinking of staying up until it's tomorrow." My foster parents share a look. "What was that?"
"Dream, we think it's time you go to school. It starts tomorrow." My mother says.
"That sounds cool... But what's school?" I ask. My father looks as if he just remembered that I had amnesia, and he sighed, about to explain. My mother looks at him, and he decided something else would be better suited.
"You'll find out tomorrow. You have to get up at 7 though, it starts at 8." He said.
"Well, I can't wait!" I burst out, excited. He smiled along with me, beaming from ear to ear.
ー
"Looks like I have some things to do." I said before I went to sleep that night, falling into a slumber the second my head touched the pillow.
