Tatl, followed by Link and Lucina, were going back to the entryway to the southern swamp. But Tatl saw something that caught her attention and looked at it with great nostalgia. Lucina and Link also take notice. It was a carving on the side of a tree trunk. It appeared to be some sort of boy, he had shaggy clothes, a beak for a mouth, and a large scraggly hat. "I remember this. This was something we drew when I first met skull kid" Tatl said to them...

"It was the late afternoon, there was a thunderstorm going on, and me and Tael were trying to find some shelter in the rain. We found a large, hollow tree trunk that looked like a tunnel and we went in. Tael was really worried about it all, but I tried to comfort him and keep him from remembering... something."

Tatl said that word "remembering" with a long pause before the next word, which Lucina and Link took notice of.

"Me and my brother were together trying to stay warm, when we saw something that made us jump. It was skull kid, he looked very strange to us, and he appeared to be shivering. Eventually, we decided to join together and wait out the storm under that tunnel. After the rain cleared he became an entirely different person. He started playing around, doing cartwheels in the field, playing this small flute he had with him all the time. And then, to end the day off, we drew this picture, right here. He said that when we found him under that tree tunnel, he just lost a group of friends who left him to fend for himself, but to do what he did because of that and for that very reason..."

Tatl stopped and just stood there, floating. Lucina and Link waited for her to finish, but she merely said "now come on, let's go find whoever is in this swamp" and floated towards the swamp.

When they got there, they found a large shack suspended by four wooden poles and was hovering over the swamps purple, murky waters. They were about to go in when they heard an old man's voice say "no, halt, go no further" from behind them. They turned around and saw an owl about six feet tall waiting for them. "These swamps have been troubled with many hardships in times of late, and is very dangerous" the owl warns "but do not grieve for it, for it has been told that these swamps and it's inhabitants were to disappear eventually". "Uh, excuse me!?" Tatl said crossly, "but a giant moon is about to fall on the entire WORLD and kill ALL of us. If anything, this place is less dangerous than Clock Town!". "Ah, but you did not let me finish" the owl reminds her, "I believe you are trying to find the giant who lives somewhere in this swamp and ask for his assistance, correct" . "...possibly" Lucina said, thinking about "the four who are there". "Well..." the owl starts, "If you wish to rescue him, and possibly change the fate of this swamp, I suggest you go to the Deku palace. That is where the troubles of this swamp will be seen". Link looks at the owl and says "Gaepora! Is that you!". "Why, if it isn't Link! Long time, no see and all that" The owl, Gaepora greets. "Don't worry, Link, we will meet again I am sure of it." And he starts to fly but says "oh, and Lucina" , whom turned around to meet his eye. "I believe someone you know is also at the deku palace" and flew away. "Uh, Lucina, what did he mean by 'someone you know'?" Link asks her. "I'm not really sure about that, but let's just hope that it is not someone too horrible".
