This is a list of the girls who are part of the prophecy of Iridescence. This list will include their names, a little bit about their histories, and their magical gifts. There may be some mild spoilers, but nothing that doesn't come out early into the story.

ELIZA JANE ALDEN

Eliza is painfully shy and awkward. She is a gifted pianist, singer, composer, and lyricist. She is unnaturally skilled at writing songs, poetry, and chants. It's something she has done  ever since she was a little girl.

Her parents are always fighting. The two don't seem to know how be civilized to each other anymore. Eliza often hides in her bedroom wearing headphones to drown them out or escapes to the sanctuary of her neighbor Krissy's house. Krissy is her best friend, and when the story begins, she is pretty much her only friend. Krissy's aunt, Abby, treats Eliza like part of the family and expects to find her in the house most mornings. Krissy and Abby are the only people who call Eliza "Liz."

Eliza is very clumsy. It's not abnormal for her to trip, stumble, or fall. She is absolutely terrified of heights. She is an extremely kind, gentle person. She hates cruelty and will stand up for people who can't defend themselves despite how shy she is. She generally refuses to defend herself, so Krissy often ends up doing it.  She firmly believes there is good in everyone if you look deep enough and often gives second chances to those who may not deserve it.

When Eliza learns of her destiny, she is quick to deny it, insisting there's nothing special about her. She struggles with the physical side of battle due to her gentle nature, but she excels at the magical side. She also shows an almost unnaturally strong talent for archery.

She has an affinity for Air and is blessed by Apollo. She also has a gift for healing and is an Oracle.

KRISTEN "KRISSY" BERRY

Krissy is hyperactive and very funny. She tries to stay positive at all times, although it's occasionally hard. She hates being called Kristen. She loves for things to be fast, and she gives nearly everyone she meets a nickname just to move conversations along a little quicker. She hates sitting still, drinks an enormous amount of caffeine, and is constantly consuming sugar.

When Krissy was eleven, she survived a terrible car accident. The car plunged into the sea. Her parents were both killed instantly, but Krissy was rescued by Poseidon. Mistaking him for Death, Krissy begged him to take her instead of her parents. He comforted the girl before blessing her.

After she lost her parents, Krissy moved from Upstate New York to Queens to live with her Aunt Abby. Abby is an artist who is almost as hyper as Krissy. They are very close.

Krissy is outgoing and friendly, which enabled her to bring Eliza out of her shell and befriend her. She tends to be very impulsive and can't be talked out of things once she gets an idea in her head. She's always up for an adventure. Although she could easily be one of the popular kids, she prefers to spend her time with Eliza.

She has an affinity for Water. Like the tides, she cannot be stopped. When she learns of her destiny, she embraces it and doesn't hesitate to get on one of Apollo's motorcycles. She views this journey as her next big adventure.

FAITH CANDICE EDWARDS

Faith is outrageous, impulsive, and wild. She's a bit of a pyromaniac and never leaves home without a lighter. She is frequently sarcastic and has little tolerance for stupid people. She is a lesbian and a practicing Pagan, and she proudly tells the world this with a button on her backpack that says Sorry I missed church. I was busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian. She's very comfortable with who she is and doesn't care what other people think.

When Faith was four, a fire swept through her home impossibly fast and burned it down. Her father was killed when the roof collapsed on top of him as he was attempting to rescue his younger brother, Deacon. Although he was never found, it was assumed Deacon burned to death because his bedroom was little more than ash. Faith rescued her mother by holding her hand and dragging her from the burning house after her mother went into shock.

Faith's mother suffered a mental breakdown, and would continue to relapse over the years. As a result of this, Faith ends up living in foster care more often than not. She loves her mother fiercely, but her mother's fragile mental health has led to some difficulties in Faith's life.

She considers herself lucky because the group home she usually ends up in is a good one. The one time someone tried to be inappropriate with her, she set his crotch on fire. No one has crossed her since. A lot of the other kids think she's insane, although she is very close to a young resident everyone calls Baby Doll and her roommate Liana, who often runs away.

She is as wild and unpredictable as fire. The kids at school view her as crazy. She is exceptionally tough and street smart. People instantly regret crossing her. Not only does she set people on fire, but she also mocks them for good measure. When a boy tried to rob her, she set him on fire and began taunting him, calling him Homeboy sarcastically. She will fight fiercely for anyone she cares about. She takes an instant liking to Krissy and Eliza and immediately becomes protective of them, especially the very meek Eliza.

Faith has an affinity for Fire. She earned a blessing from Prometheus when she walked through fire at four years old and didn't burn. She accepts her destiny quickly and is more concerned with flirting with Artemis than the fact that a war is coming.

EMILY KANG

Emily is a goth girl who keeps to herself and glares at anyone who tries to reach out to her. When the book begins, she has not spoken at school in over a year. She is full of anger. She seems to hate everyone and is determined to make them leave her alone. The school mandated her father put her in therapy, but she spends her sessions ignoring the therapist's questions and drawing. She is a very gifted artist. The only class she regularly attends is art, although she does all the work for her other classes. She can't always handle being around other people, so the school lets her spend her class time in the guidance counselor's office whenever she needs to.

Emily is constantly surrounded by death. She was stillborn, but woke back up in her mother's arms after her mother begged for someone to save her baby. Her mother, who she was very close to, died in a freak accident when she was eight. Her grandparents died not long after in a house fire. A year ago, right before she stopped speaking, her older sister, Eve, let her go with her and her friends to a haunted house. Eager to spend time with her big sister, Emily agreed. She advised them against holding a seance, but Eve's boyfriend, Joey, insisted on doing it anyway. They accidentally summoned a demon. All of Eve's friends were killed during the events which followed. The ones who lasted the longest were killed when the building collapsed on top of them, including Eve and Joey. Emily was the only survivor. She was rescued by Hades, who proceeded to bless her.

Emily was severely traumatized by the deaths of Eve, Joey, and the others. Her father didn't really know what to do with her after her mother died, so Eve had been the one to show her affection and comfort her when she needed it. Her father pays very little attention to her and is usually at work. They can go days without seeing each other. Emily describes them as strangers who happen to live in the same house.

Before she lost her sister, Emily was different. Although she's always been a goth girl, her personality wasn't hostile. She was a bit of a loner, but Vanessa befriended her, and the two got pretty close. She pushed Vanessa away after Eve died and refused to speak to her just like she did with everyone else.

Emily has an affinity for Spirit. She can see the dead and speaks to them more than she speaks to the living. When she speaks in front of the other girls for the first time, they are stunned to learn she's not actually mute. She refuses to accept her destiny at first and wants nothing to do with Hades, Artemis, or the girls, but she still shows up to training after Vanessa asks her to. Emily has a natural gift for magic and knows how to cast spells. She is the strongest spell caster in Iridescence, and is especially good with protection spells. Her instincts for magic and for battle are exceptionally strong.

JENNA GABRIELLE RAMOS

Jenna is an extremely skilled athlete. She is the star of several school teams and is a Nationally Ranked track star. She is almost constantly training but also manages to get excellent grades and is exceptionally popular. Her boyfriend, Kevin, is also an athlete. Her best friend, Lucky, has been attached to her hip since they were toddlers. He's a theater kid, but there is no one she's closer to.

Her life has been picture perfect and she is kind of sheltered. She has an older brother named JJ, and two younger brothers, Ricky and Miguel. She is extremely close to her parents and has never lied to them. She's a good kid and is well-liked in the community.

Her fatal flaw is she tries too hard and is afraid to fail. Her record of victories is strong, and that winning spirit is part of what initially attracted Nike to her. Her warrior personality and fearlessness brought Ares to her. The fact that she's sheltered and rarely faces hardships makes it difficult for her to cope when those situations do occur.

Jenna has a very good heart. She's kind and although she's popular, she'll befriend anyone who wants to get to know her. She excels at pretty much everything she tries to do because she is willing to put in the effort to pull it off. She works hard, is very disciplined, and never lets fear keep her from trying new things. She is extremely brave, but is also practical and grounded.

She has an affinity for Earth. Although Ares and Nike both cling to her and offer her their blessings, her true blessing comes from Gaia. She accepts her destiny because it is her duty, and she quickly excels at the physical side of battle. It takes her a little longer to master the magical side, but she is determined to work hard and sharpen those skills as well.

VANESSA SINGH

Vanessa is a free spirit. She loves theater and has starred in every school play she's auditioned for. She is passionate about anything having to do with the Arts. She also loves butterflies, unicorns, the colors purple and pink, and being in nature.

When Vanessa was nine, her father moved to India. He wasn't a kind man, and she and her mother were both relieved by the divorce. That was when Vanessa came out as transgender. Her mother said she'd known Vanessa was a girl since she was a toddler and was completely supportive of her, even legally changing her name. Vanessa chose her new name because it means butterfly, and she used to view herself as a caterpillar waiting to transform into a butterfly.

Vanessa is extremely sweet. She cares deeply about others and has a very big heart. She will do anything to help someone in need. She loves animals. She is pretty popular but has never cared about fitting in. She believes in the impossible and never gives up. She's generally very cheerful and has the ability to lift anyone's spirit.

When she was little, she loved dreaming because in her dreams, her body matched the way she saw herself. Morpheus grew fond of her early on and always acknowledged her as a girl. He bestowed his blessing upon her because of her exceptional ability to dream powerful and epic things and her unyielding belief that all things are possible if you believe in them strong enough.

Vanessa's affinity is for Dreams. She can move anywhere in the dream realm and can even travel into the dreams of others or bring others to her. She often pulls her mother into her dreams, bringing her along on her adventures or having her comfort her if she gets scared. Her mother doesn't understand that these aren't her own dreams. Vanessa can connect the members of Iridescence to each other when they are all in the dream realm so that they share one collective dream.

Vanessa accepts her destiny immediately. Her belief in the impossible makes it easy for her. She also has a gift for making dreams manifest in reality, transforming one thing into another with simply the power of her thoughts. She can make the stars dance, suggesting she has celestial magic as well.
