Matthew and I are now 17 and Matthew is being sent away for guard academy.

My mom had news for Matthew and I. I rushed down the stairs and saw my mom and brother with concerned looks on their faces. "Is something wrong", I asked "I got a letter from the guard academy of O'kasis today, and it has asked you both to start training", Matthew quickly shot mom a glance. "What! You didn't tell me this! N-no she can't come", Matthew started to panic. "Matthew calm down. I think that this will be a great opportunity for you guys", my mom smiled. "I kinda like the idea of being guard", I finally spoke. Matthew looked at me with shock in his eyes. "N-NO! Mom please I don't want (F/n) to get hurt there", Matthew begged and mom just shook her head. "Matthew you'd be hurting her more if she didn't go. She needs to learn how to survive on her own. What happens if I pass and something happens to you? She'll die", my mom stated. Matthew looked at me then looked down. "You're right mom", he confessed. "I know you'll take great care of her Matthew", she pulled Matthew and I into I tight hug. "Pack your things you guys have to leave today, it's a two day trip to O'kasis", my mom released us from the hug a sat down at the table reading her book. Matthew looked at me then pulled me into another hug. "I'll protect you", he then walked into his bedroom to start packing and I did the same.

I packed all of my clothes, my music box, my guitar, my jewelry, and a photo of my mom with Matthew, and I when we were 7. I looked at photo and smiled. I realized that I forgot to pack something. I put down the photo and walked into my closet. I moved a couple of boxes and found my (F/c) flower crown. I stared at it blankly then smiled. I placed it carefully in my big (F/c) backpack along with all of my other stuff. I rushed down stairs and saw my mom with a (F/c) bow in her hands. "This used to be mine, and I want you to have it (F/n)", she handed me the bow and smiled. Just then Matthew came down the stairs as well and mom pulled out a blue sword. "Matthew this was your fathers and I want you to have it", Mom handed it to Matthew and he stared blankly at it. "I'll miss you guys", she pulled us into another hug and kissed our foreheads. We waved goodbye and headed towards O'kasis.

This was going to be a long trip...
