Chapter 1 ~ The Awakening

I'm just going to say it now.
   Sorry.
I absolutely love this story, though a lot of the stuff about the Gray Jedi is made up. I wanted to add drama and importance to the story, so I might have exaggerated (just a lil!)
Either way though, I'm still hyped about this story and I hope y'all enjoy!

"I'll handle this!" Ahsoka shouted as she ran up to the rocky ledge, throwing herself to her knees so she could get a good luck at the girl that was gripping onto the ledge for dear life, "I got you!"

Using her connection to to Force, Ahsoka took hold of Steela's body and began to suspend her in mid air. The Togruta gritted her teeth, striving to find more energy within her to move the process along quicker.

The seconds passed like minutes as Ahsoka outreached her arm to the rebel, allowing her to take a firmer hold. With a breath of relief, Ahsoka managed to pull her up to the ground.

"Thank y..." Steela began to whisper, only to be cut off by a screaming Lux.

"Watch out!"

Ahsoka whipped her head around, but it was too late. A tank that had gone unnoticed by them shot at the Togruta. If she had seen it even a second earlier, she could've whipped out her lightsaber and blocked it. Instead, she groaned in agony as the blaster bolt tore through her chest.  The impact was so great that the Jedi was sent reeling back, flailing into the air.

"Ahhhh!" Ahsoka screamed in sheer terror as she realized that she was no longer on solid ground.

"Ahsoka! No!" She could hear Lux and some others call out, but her own fear drowned out the voices. Her thoughts were scrambled as she saw the ground rushing closer, so she did the only thing that came to mind.

Closing her eyes and trusting in the Force, Ahsoka relaxed her muscles and let her mind slip to the unseen powers. As she realized that she wasn't stopping, Ahsoka clutched to the Force desperately. However, due to the extreme pain that the blaster wound had inflicted on her, the best she managed to do was slow her fall.

Then, with one last flash of the blue sky above her, a sharp pain shot through her body as she presumably hit the ground and blacked out.

"Master Skywalker!" Lux cried out as he saw a blurry figure running towards him. He looked back down at the limp body that lay before him, clutching her hand between his as a glistening tear streaked down his face.

"What happened?" Anakin gasped as he saw Ahsoka laying in her own blood, "Who, who did this?"

"The Seps," Lux whispered, "they shot her off the cliff after she saved Steela and me."

"Obi-Wan!" Anakin suddenly shouted, causing another Jedi to come running from a recently-landed cruiser, "Get Ahsoka to some medics! She still has a slight pulse."

"Well where are you going, then?" Obi-Wan asked as he skidded to a halt before them.

"I have some matters to settle," Anakin growled, anger clearly written on his features.

"Anakin, it's not the Jedi way," Obi-Wan said as he reached his hand out to grab Anakin's wrist.

"Well then kriff the Jedi!" Anakin shouted, snatching his wrist away from his former master. His gaze softened as he added, "Just make sure you get Ahsoka to the doctors. I'll be back."

With that, Anakin dashed off to where the remaining droids were retreating.

"Well, let's get her to the transport. I'm afraid she doesn't have much time left. Can I trust you with her lightsabers, Lux?" Obi-Wan asked, grimacing as he picked up Ahsoka's blood-stained body.

"Yes sir, it wouldn't be the fi..." he cut off and looked down shamefully, grabbing Ahsoka's lightsaber and shoto off of her belt.

"You were saying?" Obi-Wan questioned with his eyebrow raised, "never mind, we'll talk about it later."

The Jedi turned and carefully jogged towards the ship he was by earlier, trying his best not to jar Ahsoka's broken body.

"Kix! I need you quickly!" Obi-Wan called out, resulting in a clone emerging from the doors.

"Yes General? What do y- is that Commander Tano?" Kix replied with a gasp. The medical clone rushed forward, pressing his finger onto Ahsoka's wrist. "She's barely alive. We need to get her the frigate immediately."

With a nod, Obi-Wan and Lux followed Kix onto the cruiser, which powered up its engines and began to sail through the air. Within moments, the pilot had managed to speed his way into the Republican frigate that was hovering above Onderon.

Seconds passed like hours as the group anxiously waited for the door to open. The second it did, the group broke out at a jog towards the medical bay.

"We need medics, ASAP!" Kix yelled as several squads of clones parted for the Jedi, Senator, and medical soldier.

It all seemed like a blur as they rushed the bleeding Ahsoka into the medical quarters, laying her down on a stretcher as a band of medics and droids assessed her. Lux stared down at the lightsabers that he clutched in his hands so hard that his knuckles turned white. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan sat meditating in the corner of the room.

"Well, would you like the bad news or the good news first?" A woman whom Lux assumed was the lead medic asked after a few minutes of examination.

"Good, I suppose," Obi-Wan replied, standing up from his position.

"The shot missed her major organs, and she fortunately didn't damage her spinal cord. Which, I'm unsure how, given that she fell from a height that she should've died at."

"The Force, I'm sure," Obi-Wan said thoughtfully, though it went unnoticed by the medic.

"Which brings me to the bad news. The shot tore threw one of her arteries, causing her to loose a deadly amount of blood. She has several broken ribs, a shattered tailbone, multiple fractured bones in her spine, and a serious concussion. Judging from her state, I don't believe we'll be able to make it to any medical stations in time. I'm sorry," and with that, the woman turned and began tending to Ahsoka.

"She-she's not going to..." Lux stopped, trying to hold back the pool of tears that threatened to flow.

"We have to have faith in the Force," Obi-Wan said determinedly, pressing a few buttons oh his comm link before saying, "Anakin? Anakin do you copy?"

"I'm-I'm kinda busy Master," Anakin's voice replied choppily. Apparently he was still cutting down droids.

"We need to leave right now, Anakin. They don't even think she's going to make it to a medical station."

"No," he gasped, "just leave, Obi-Wan! I'll fly Ahsoka's star fighter back."

With that, Obi-Wan turned off the comm link and started running out the room.

"Master Kenobi!" Lux panted, following the Jedi, "where are we going?"

"We need to get this frigate to Coruscant. Ahsoka can be brought to the Halls of Healing there."

"Master, she'll never make it!"

"Do you have any other ideas, Senator Bonteri?" Obi-Wan snipped back, silencing Lux for the remainder of the run to the pilot room.

"I think the time has come, Father," a female voice spoke up through the silence.

"Are you sure?" This time it was a deep, male voice that sounded awfully familiar.

"I think she's right," said a different male voice.

"Well, let us set our mission into action then."

Suddenly Ahsoka's eyes flew open, only to be greeted by darkness.

"Hello? Where am I? Where's Lux and Steela?" The Togruta panicked.

"Do not worry, young one," the deep male voice replied. With that, three figures faded into view.

"I, I thought you guys were dead!" Ahsoka gasped. Before her stood the Daughter, Son, and Father.

"Does one really ever die?" The Son asked rhetorically, earning a glare from his sister.

"We have come to bring you important news, Ahsoka," she said softly, floating towards the Togruta.

"But where am I? I'm not... I'm not dead, am I?" Fear danced through her eyes.

"You will be if you don't shut up and listen to her," the Son growled.

"Brother!" The Daughter snapped, "no, you are not dead. But I need you to listen closely, Ahsoka."

Now interested, Ahsoka did as the Daughter told her to. I mean, if the people of Mortis were talking to her while she was...sleeping... then it had to be important.

"There will be an imbalance in the Force Ahsoka, one so great that it will put the galaxy in ruins. You must prevent it, or the evil will become unstoppable."

"But," Ahsoka whispered, "how?"

"There is a Sith Lord in the midst of your republic. He holds too much power, and it has gone unnoticed for too long. Soon he will use that power against the Republic itself, causing it to crumble from within. There is one more thing, Ahsoka. Whatever you do, do not let Skywalker fall to the dark side from his emotions. Be with him, for without compassion there is no Force," the Daughter said rhythmically.

"Anakin? The dark side?" Ahsoka's voice caught in her throat, "but there's no way! He would never."

The father sighed before replying, "the future holds much change for the worse. Now, it's up to you to stop it."

"But...why me?"

"Ahsoka, the Chosen One is just a title. You however, what makes you special is who you are, and what's inside your heart. When I saved your life, I saw something implanted inside your soul that nobody has. Nobody has seen even a trace of a Gray Jedi in years. You don't just happen to hold that balance in you for no reason. So, with maybe a little bit of assistance, we can help you reach your full potential. Your destiny. Ahsoka, you're in it for something greater. You've already begun to, but you have to look past the Jedi and the Sith. For," he paused, allowing Ahsoka to finish. If she truly did have the spirit of the Gray Jedi in her, she would speak the code.

"There is no Dark Side, nor a Light Side. There is Only the Force. I will do what I must to keep the balance," Ahsoka replied slightly robotically, before blinking and pulling herself back to her own senses. "Wait, what did I just say? What does that even mean?"

"It means that our attempts are not in vain. You truly are a Gray Jedi. Now go, Ahsoka, you must return to your people before your body dies," the Daughter said. Then, with a nod amongst her, the Brother, and the Father, they all begin to fade into small energy orbs.

With a gasp from Ahsoka, the orbs phased into her body. Just the sheer amount of Force energy they put off was outrageous. However, it felt good. She could feel the Force itself coursing through her veins, and her mind slowly began to slip into consciousness as her body began to heal.

±-±-±-±-±-±-±-±-±-±-±-±-±-±-±-±-±-±-±-±-

Meanwhile, not too far off behind the Republican frigate, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker flew aboard Ahsoka's star fighter. Everything was going peacefully; well, as peaceful as a man who was enraged by the critical state that his Padawan was in can be, until something so powerful threw him backwards in his seat.

"What in the Coruscant was that?" Anakin yelped as he steadied the small spacecraft again. The energy wave was gone just as quickly as it came, and the Jedi would've thought that he was just imagining things if it weren't for the awful headache that resulted from it.

"Master Obi-Wan? Master Yoda? Does anyone come in?" Anakin asked as he toyed with the radio frequencies on his dash.
"Feel it too, did you Skywalker?" An older voice Anakin identified as Yoda sounded.

"Yes, but what was that Master Yoda?"

"Disturbance in the Force, there has been. Feel it you did, Master Kenobi."

Now Obi-Wan's voice was added into the transmission, "I did. That didn't feel like any Sith though."

"Could it be a Jedi?" Anakin asked. I mean, if it wasn't a Sith then what else could it be besides a Jedi?

"Be it was Jedi, indeed not. Force we haven't seen in a while has risen instead. Awakening, there has been."

"What in the Force," Anakin muttered with a shake of his head. Awakening of what? It was all too hard to believe. The Jedi then messed with his radio once more, this time turning it to a channel solely between him and Obi-Wan.

"How is Ahsoka, Master?"

"I'm not entirely sure, Anakin. I'm doing everything we can to get this frigate to Coruscant as fast as it can. Senator Bonteri is watching over her right now. I can go look if you'd like."

"A little thought to ease the mind would help," Anakin said thoughtfully, awaiting Obi-Wan's response. However, instead of receiving a reply, all the Skywalker could hear was distraught yelling in the background.

"General! We're losing her! We're losing Ahsoka! There's no way in Mustafar that she'll make it back to Coruscant!" Anakin heard a clone shout.

"Alright, I'm coming! Try everything you can to get her stable! We're nearly there!" This time it was Obi-Wan.

"Sir yes sir!" The clone replied, and then for a while all went silent except Obi-Wan's breath as Anakin assumed he was running. Anakin remained patient until he heard Obi-Wan exclaim,

"What in the blazes is going on here?"

"Master, what's wrong?"

"It's Ahsoka, Anakin. She's, she's glowing!"

"Ahsoka?" Lux cried, "No! No! Get the medics!"

The senator watched in dismay as all her vitals began dropping, "Where are the medics?!"

Suddenly, her pulse flatlined.

"No no no," Lux groaned, "Come back to me Ahsoka! Come...back..."

At that moment, a squad of doctors rushed in. One checked her heart rate while the another listened to her breathing. "We've lost her! Get the counter shocks ready!"

Lux glanced around for reassurance from Obi-Wan, only to remember he was still in the pilot room. He quickly dashed outside, telling the clone that was standing guard to get Obi-Wan. The soldier nodded, then began running down the hall.

Lux watched nervously as he watched the medics swarm around the dying Togruta, strapping oxygen masks over her face and trying to do CPR on her.

"Clear!" The lead doctor shouted, causing the rest to back away from Ahsoka, "200 Jules!"

Ahsoka's body was thrown a couple inches above the bed from the shock, but the medics received no response.

"250 Jules! Clear," the doctor shouted again, repeating the process. Lux's heart plummeted when there was still no sign of pulse.

The medics shared a disappointed look, then turned to the teenager. "I'm sorry, Senator Bonteri. I'm afraid the Commander has reached the end of the line."

A sob caught in Lux's throat, but he shoved it back down. Right now was not the time to be weak. At that moment, Obi-Wan sprinted in, comm link by his mouth, causing Lux to turn away from Ahsoka. However, he skidded to a halt and his eyes went wide.

"What in the blazes is going on in here?!"

"What do you me..." Lux returned, turning to face Ahsoka again.

"Its Ahsoka! She's...she's glowing!"

Lux staggered backwards as a blast was emitted from Ahsoka. The lifeless body, sure enough, was glowing an alarmingly bright white light. As though it were magic, or the Force I guess I should say, the Togruta began to levitate above her bed, ripping free from all the IV's and tubes that were attached to her.

"What kind of joke is this? Who's doing this?" Lux managed to gasp.

"I... I don't think this is a joke Senator Bonteri," Obi-Wan mumbled.

Lux watched in awe as the glow enveloped Ahsoka mystically. Then, strangely, the Togruta's face markings began to shift, stopping once there were in three streaks. The stripes joined at the top of her forehead, right below the large Akul tooth on her headdress, then the left one curved around the left side of her face down to her mid-jaw, the middle one went straight down to the point of her nose, and the right one curved down the right side of her face to the same point that the left did.

Then the streaks began to glow brighter than the rest of the light that encircled her, and a sudden flash blinded everyone in the room. By the time they could finally see again, everything had returned to normal, and Ahsoka's face markings appeared like they had never changed.

"I swear, I haven't even touched death sticks."

"Nah, kid, I saw it too," the clone who had gotten Obi-Wan replied.

"Wait! Look at the monitor!" Obi-Wan gasped, gaining the attention of Lux and the medics. All her vitals were completely stable.

"It's impossible..." the lead doctor whispered, "she died."

"I mean, she isn't dead anymore," Obi-Wan said, walking up to Ahsoka and placing his hand softly on her arm.

"TS-3T," one of the medics called, "run a scan on Ahsoka Tano."

The medical droid nodded, then used some scanners to evaluate Ahsoka's physical state. "She is all clear of injuries, sir."

"But it just isn't possible," the doctor whispered, "she can't just heal herself. Right? I don't even know anymore."

"Master Kenobi, do you think this has to do anything with the Force wave that the Jedi received earlier?" Lux asked.

"It's not very likely. After all, that happened when she was completely normal. I'm thinking this is something different," Obi-Wan replied while pacing, though his voice was laced with confusion, "One thing's for sure, I have never seen that before."

Knowing it would do no good to mull over it, Lux decided to let his confusion go and just focus on Ahsoka herself. The senator walked over to the Togruta and placed his hand on top of hers, content as his fingertips picked up a pulse from her wrist.

"I knew you were too stubborn to go, 'Soka," Lux whispered fondly. He had already lost too many friends and family members to this war; he didn't think he would've been able to handle another death.

And that's a wrap! So...y'all game with Luxsoka? I just figured it'd be a nice touch to add.
Anyways, I have to actually do my homework now. Honestly, it feels like we're getting wayyy more than we would in a regular school day.
    Happy reading!
